Recommend Me A Kayak
Before any suggestions are made you need to let us know what types of waters do you fish. Are they larger lakes, smaller "ponds", slow moving rivers, faster rivers, bay, ocean etc... Also don't get ung up on the whole being able to stand thing. It is nice but with a raised seat as many kayaks have you may find yourself not needing to stand as often as you think. I own boats i can stand in but it doesn't happen as often as you think except for specific presnetations where it is an advantage. Standing in a boat makes keeping position much more difficult in any wind as you act like a sail....

Richmond Area Ponds?
Anyone know of any ponds that are decent to fish in the richmond area? I normally kayak fish but i am in classes and don't have the time to go out for more than about an hour or two at the most so the kayak isn't going to be used that much this summer. I fish lake rooty in the west end but i think there was a fish kill there last year because it hasn't been the same as it was a few years ago. I also fish some of the smaller "rivers" but really looking for some decent ponds that i can fish without getting kicked out and maybe even catch a few Thanks in advance....

How Big Is This Bass In The Pic A Friend Sent Me?
No clue but i have a tough time believing it is 30" long...unless your friend has an extremely long lower leg

Smallmouth Bass As An Invasive Species?
You would have to ask a fisheries biologist as each river and eco system is different. Also, other than a few drainages smallmouth were invasive species everywhere at one time or another and the same goes for pretty much every fish you mentioned.

Any Gardeners Here?
yeah i saw that same potato method using one of those plastic barrels. I figured potatoes are cheap so i am going to just buy them this year.....maybe next year though. If this garden takes off like it did last year i may have to turn into a vegetarian....

Worst Products You Have Ever Used
This is a tough one because most products i have used worked as designed but the design was bad I liked the Dahlberg frogs mentioned earlier and caught a lot of fish in them. As far as bad goes it was a bill dance bait caster combo i bought when i was getting back into bass fishing after a few year hiatus. It worked ok and i thought the grinding noise was normal....then i got a citica and learned a little bit. the other thing that has done poorly for me are floating stanley ribbits....

College Budget Kayak/boats/float Tubes? Do They Exist?
All good advice on here. I will also echo that looking for a used boat will get you more boat for the money. The deals don't come up often and are gone pretty quick but if you are persistent in your searching something will come up and for a good price. I bought my coosa for about 350 off retail a year after it was released and then was able to sell it for pretty much what i paid for it a year or so later. That is the other advantage of getting a more name brand boat, the resale value is much higher. Seems like tarpons come up for sale pretty often around here and they are a great all around boat that can perform well in rivers or lakes. if you have a truck i would have no worries about transporting a boat. You can get the extender like was already mentioned or havit on it's side and extend out past the tailgate with a red flag and strapped down.

Desean Jackson....released
Can the others meanign the other teams? All i know is that the majority of the teams the Eagles played last year looked very winded, especially the skins in game 1 last year. It will be interesting to see if more conditioning is being built in to the off season to combat the speed the Eagles play at....I do know that i will be wathcing every game like always

Desean Jackson....released
I agree. The big question is going to be if they can get a lead and not have to play from behind as much as they did last year too

What's The Point Of Hook Barbs?
they help the hook to not slip out once hooked. There is no eason you can't fish with a barbless hook but you will lose some fish while you learn to fish with them as it is different. I don't bother mashing down the barbs with bass but i do whenever i am trout fishing. The big thing to remember is you have to keep good presure on the fish, no slack at all or the hook will pop out much easier without a barb.

First Bass From A Kayak
Congrats. Jut like anything, it takes some time getting used to the boat nad how it handles. I haven't ever flipped a kayak but i have fallen out of them. One thing that helps is to visualize a center line in the boat and the further you stray from that center, the more chance you have of tipping over. It also helps to go out with no gear and test your boat and it's limits on both initial and secondary stability. As far as attaching a GoPro you can use the sticky mounts that come with the camera or go with a yak attack panfish or something similar to mount the camera.

Crank Baits With Braid Question
I have a moderate flex crankbait specific rod and use the 8lb diameter power pro super slick with no leader. I haven't lost a fish as of yet due to ripping out the hooks lke when i was using a faster action stick. I feel that the moderate action rod is more key than the line itself but i like the smaller diameter but higher strenght braid as it allows me to get the bait deeper.

Kayak Rod Holders
I like using a crate to store items but not the rods. This is where the beauty of a hybrid boat comes in to play. I don't find having rods extend out in the front of my boat as to much an issue except on the river. In the river i like everything as tight to the deck as possible to prevent any potential overhanging trees from taking a rod or two... Bottom line is to find out what works for you and stick with it

Any Gardeners Here?
Update on the garden....went with expanding it out another 10x10 foot plot. anyways...here are the pics.....My soon to be 4 year old liked the bags of dirt as you can see

Desean Jackson....released
it has potential but adding one piece isn't going to make it from average to world class in my opinion. RG still need to get his head on right and he still needs time in the pocket.

First Fish Of 2014 Or A Shallow Victory
Trout are not nearly as hardy as bass. Generally if the trout is on the ground flopping around as you stated, it won't make it 9 imps out of 10. I have never had a brookie die on me in the mountains that I have seen. I go wit the biggest flies i can and still catch fish and always barbless to make hook removal easy. I also rarely take them out of the water unless they are picture worthy, which isn't often really as they are all beauties

Mountain Monsters
And you too can join them on a big footing expedition......it's on their website. my favorite was when they were howling or whatever the call it and they got all worked up because there were responses.....yeah from other big footers.

Mountain Monsters
Yeah i think one guy had thermal but not all 6 or however many there are....

Mountain Monsters
I think the bigfoot show is a little better because it is plausible that there is a big creature out there that we haven't found. The mountain monster thing is completely different in that there are big creatures out there and they are all different kinds yet live in relatively the same areas...i also love how they shoot at everything, in the dark, without knowing what they are shooting at, Isn't that against gun safety 101??

Arbogast Jitterbug
the weedless versions work very well but the thing is, in heavier vegetation it won't give you the same action if the vegetation is on the surface. now if it is right below the surface they work great. black jitterbug at night has resulted in more huge blowups for me than any other technique.

Reevaluating High Reels
I get the more inches per turn piece. but what does gear ration have to do with additional casting distance? I also don't see the advantage in teh flipping scenario unless you are saying the xtra IPT yields a slighlty faster retrieve so you can get the bait back in the water but when flipping, the lengths of line out is usually pretty short so not sure how many extra casts you are getting in a day because of the increased IPT.

What Have You Purchased Recently?
