Good Fishing Kayak For Newbie?
I see a lot of people wanting a trolling motor right away and i would say if that is the case then a kayak may not be your best option unless you are looking at a torqueedo which is very lightweight. I am not saying you can't but unless you are travelling extremely long distances you will find that paddling isn't that bad. I routinely fish a lake that i will paddle 4+ miles one way to reach a particular area and while it is a long paddle it is more than manageable. Not to mention the trolling motor adds a lot of weight and usually will require you to register the boat but that depends on the state.

Trolling Motor Facing Wrong Way?
That is a transom mount trolling motor so placing it in the front will only allow you to go forward if the motor is in reverse. I have no idea if you can slide the handle around or not but i am sure someone else will chime in.

Pony Pasture On The James
Don't bother with lake rooty......i think there was a fish kill or soemthing going on there. Last year i could count on going out there on my lunch break and catching at least one or two. This year all i have caught are a few sunnies but no bass and i have seen a ton of dead fish near the dam area. One day i saw at least 10 dead fish with 6 beign sunnies and the rest bass. It still doesn't stop me from going out there though

Good Fishing Kayak For Newbie?
the X version definitely looks cool and i think they were planning on using the technology on multiple boats in their line.

Should I Buy This Bass Raider 10E
I wouldn't wory about putting bedliner on for two main reasons. One the boat will be fine and two the added weight will affect your total weight and when adding another battery and trolling motor the weight limit for gear will be lowered even further. I am pretty sure they are made the same as kayaks and i can say that while i don't abuse mine i don't hesitate to go over rocks, ledges and even drag it down boat ramps. I haven't sprung a leak and there is still plenty of plastic there. You would probably want a new boat before you ever wear it out. Not to mention the added cost could be used for gear instead

Good Fishing Kayak For Newbie?
The reason i say a sit on top is safer is because they are self draining. Sure if you get a bunch of water inside the hull via the hatches it is bad news but your normal use and going out in rough water the scuppers will do their job. There is also the consideration of doing a deep water re-entry into your kayak. If you have to re-enter a canoe it is not easy but on a sit on top it is relatively easy, assuming you practiced a time or two before. Rigging for a canoe or kayak are pretty much the same except a canoe will have a little more freeboard to work with and also a little easier to run any wiring for electronics, lights etc....as it is all open.

well put. I was able to see a game at the boston garden and I am glad i did. Fenway is still on my list along with Wrigley...to much history to not check them out at some point.

The NFL had a good product and no matter how much we all don't like it, something had to be done to prevent some injuries and having players crippled for the rest of their life. That being said, they went a little to far and combine that with the amount of automatic replays and the game has slowed to much for my liking. Protecting the QB is dumb, they are players just like everyone else and should take hits like everyone else. Nobody should be going after the head of any player but you can't tackle the legs anymore and this combined with bad fundamental tackling is creating some ugly football.

Abu Garcia Vs Shimano Baitcasters
this is like asking which is better a blonde or a brunette. Everyone has an opinion then someone will chime in that they like red heads more.....they are all decent but i have had good luck with my shimanos so that is what I choose to use. My buddy likes Abu and that is pretty much all he uses and neither of us have any complaints.

Good Fishing Kayak For Newbie?
I fished in canoes for years as a kid and they have their place but since i have started fishing from a kayak it is a no brainer. Kayaks are faster, don't get affected by wind as much and are generally safer, assuming it is a sit on top. You can absolutely get a good kayak for under $800 but also keep in mind the added expense of a paddle and PFD which can be as little or as much as you would like to spend really. You also have to take into account how are you going to transport the thing around. Do you have a truck or wil you need a roof top rack system to haul it to the lake? This also plays into a specific boat because of the weight factor of lifting it on the roof is a lot different then getting it into a truck bed or on a trailer. I also recommend staying away from the angler packages. You can generally righ tme for cheaper yourself and it will bw how you want it set up for your style of fishing and you won't knwo what you really want until you get out there a few times anyways. There is also a very good used market for boats so keep your eyes peeled on craigslist to see what's out there. As far as models go, well there a ton of good boats to choose from by quite a few major manufacturers. One of my favorites, and was my first boat, is the now native (formerly heritage) redfish 12. Great boat, plenty stable, i used to stand in mine but your results may vary based on your balance, and in a good price point. The seat is not the greatest but it worked for me at the time. Other options would be the WIlderness Systems tarpon or commander which is a hybrind and not technically a sit on top but is what i use for my flatwater fishing. If there are any shops around that sell boats go take a look and even better a demo of a few boats. It is going to be different than a canoe but it isn't drastic enough that you will feel out of sorts. I know bass pro has also come out with some new models that are getting good reviews as well. Bottom line is take a look at a bunch of boats sit in them, paddle them and if there is a model that you like but is out of your price range, save up and get it when you can because you will end up getting it eventually anyways

Should I Buy This Bass Raider 10E
I have no idea what the used market is for these things but paying 650 for something that would cost 900 new seems high to me but like i said, i am not sure on the market for these things. I also understand what you are saying about a kayak but your information is all false....i stand in mine all day long and a kayak will go in skinnier water than any boat really other than maybe an inboard jet on plane... Anyways enjoy your boat and keep in mind of the weight limit as you add motors and potentially an additional battery.

Honestly for all the situations you described i would get a kayak. It sounds like you want this boat so you are trying to convince yourself this is the one to get instead of looking at your usage and getting the boat best suited to your needs. Also aren't these boats brand new pretty much $600?

And i am not sure what kind of weddings you go to but most of the ones i have attended usually end up with someone or multiple people dancing on tables with nothing more than a birthday suit on, drinking champagne straight out of the bottle all hours after the bride & groom are long gone. Then we go out to the bar.....

Yeah i know....i find it sad how many people are missing out on such a great sport. Some of the most fun is going to a minor league game too. Prices are more than reasonable and you never know if the guy you are watching will be a star in the bigs later on.

or if you have the MLB package like i do and every night is baseball time, even if i am not actively watching, it is on TV. Unless of course, I am out fishing then i just get the updates on my phone

I should be more clear on the wildcard in baseball. I don't dislike it as much as the format is bad. There is not as much of an advantage given to the division winners but it is a little different now that the wild card teams most likely burn their #1 starter in the play in game. It should either be a 7 game series, like all the other series or if it stays 5 game then the division winner should get 4 out of the 5 games at home. It is to easy for a team to get hot and win 3 games out of 5 but add in that extra game and it usually favors the division winners. the other option would be get rid of divisions entirely and just have the top 5 times make it to the playoffs and re seed after each series like hockey. I know many say the wildcard makes it more exciting for more teams which is true but at the same time it kind of kills trade deadline deals because so many teams are still in it. All this does is keep the weaker teams weak and strengthens all the other teams. If the teams knew they had to win the division they would be more apt to give up some of their higher ranked prospects in exchange for better players which makes both teams better, one in the short term and the other in the long term. I also think the reason you see younger people at football games is the cost. To take a family of four to a baseball game you are probably looking at about 125-150 for tickets where for football you are talking 500-600.

Braun is a sleezeball and cheating has no place in any sport, plain and simple. A-roid is the worst offender in my mind. Not only did he cheat, he tried to cover it up, came out and said he was clean and took it in the past and is now clean. He even had the balls to go and join some ant-steroid programs and talk to kids all while making sure he got out in time to make his weekly appointment to get shot up with the stuff. I do think baseball has taken it's time with technology but i don't want to see pitch trax making calls, most of the itmes the umpires are pretty good anyways. I don't want replay on every play and i think the ay they have it now is ok and does it's job. I guess i am just a purist and like baseball for what it is, baseball, nothing more and nothing less. If they really want to spice it up some then juice the ball, not the players as that worked in the past. I don't need to see a 7-5 game to enjoy it, i like the strategy and gamesmanship, some of which is being removed. If any sport could use less rules it would be baseball. Let a guy plunk the opposing team if your guy got hit or if they went high and tight a few to often but that is being removed from the game.
