then search for the Leon Lett in the superbowl where don beebe i believe caught up to him as he was showboating and knocked it out of his hands before he crossed the line. then of course there is Desean Jackson who did it but since they couldn't review it he was give the TD. Desean Jackson actually did it in college and high school too....defnesive players at least have a little excuse but no excuse for an offensive guy.

Broncos win tonight. RG3 plays no more than 12 games and his head gets even larger from all his Diva-ness Seattle wins the NFC west I put the over under on Eagles wins at 4.5 Kansas City and Cleveland are going to surprise some people People are going to wonder where this Luck kid came from since he was the best rookie last year and most underrated

How the crap can you delay a game based on radar and not even raining? What a bunch of crap....
  6. All this chatter brings up a question though....was it really better then or is it just most of us liked our childhood and remember it that way? I mean i know kids who love gaming and have gaming parties and crap and love it. not my cup of tea but if they look back 20 years from now and say man wasn;t that awesome isn't it hte same thing? Now the fat and lazy part is definitely a problem though. I took a weightlifting class to fulfill my gym credit for my bachelors degree when i was about 30. I full on expected that i would be the most out of shape guy in there. I remember in college pretty much everyone was in great shape. I was shocked when i got there that all these 18-19 year old kids would get out of breath walking to the class from the parking lot....of course having the highest one rep max on the bench in the class wasn't as rewarding though given the competition....
  7. I think it also depends on where you live too. I didn't have the woods and stuff to much other than where the junkies would hang out. What we did do though is play a whole lot of stick ball and football in the street and make ramps in any grassy area we could until the cops would make us fill in the holes we used to make the ramps. I know in my neighborhood i see some kids playing but most of the kids are on power wheels or motorized scooters etc...i told my fiancee our son will not have anything but a pedal powered anything till he has his license. So what does she do, have her mom buy him a power wheels.... Luckily he doesn't like it as much as his Jeep bike i bought him Kids are getting fat and lazy and i don't fault htem as much as the parents. I never say no to my son if he wants to go otuside unless there is some extenuating circumstance. He does love "his" iPad though but it makes it an easy thing to take away if he isn't listening like he should...
  8. Soft bodied swimbaits would be a nice match.
  9. Two of my fly rods are near that range..... Sage Bass II largemouth matched up with a lamson velocity Sage 7wt XP with a Galvan reel and SA GPX line Both those combos are up there in cost but you also have to remember that one fly rod can do the work of pretty much 4-5 conventional set ups so the cost isn't as bad when you convince yourself of that like i do when i buy a new combo
  10. Fraud....common scheme. Don't even respond unless you want to mess with them a little bit as i always have a tendency to do
  11. and a picture of the calibrated scale
  12. 15 times? That is crazy, especially considering the Ontario record is under 10lbs. It would be like me catching a 11lb LM here in va 15 times this season....kudos to you
  13. I am not much of a dreamer but i want to be able to provide for my family and live a comfortable life and so far i am there. Anything else is secondary and i have been pretty lucky in being able to travel all over the country to fish, rock climb and backpack. I do have a goal to be a teacher and i just started the process of making it happen.
  14. Everyone is so against sharing hotspots but why not take the opportunity to teach responsible ethics at the same time? He did what was legal and not much else to say. Every one of us were taught at one time or another on what we should or shouldn't so on the water.
  15. Catfish are definitely predators. I have caught them on pretty much every type of bait out there including topwaters. I know here in VA on the James they were cracking down on people who were using smallies as bait for the big flatties and blue catfish.
  16. Carp are the only fish i have caught so far that have taken me into the packing on my fly rod which is generally 100' or so. I had one that i caught on my 4wt, think ultralight in conventional terms, while i was fishing for sunnies that not only took me into my backing twice but he took off so much backing that i was starting to see the spool. I would have been way better off if i was in my kayak but i was shore fishing that time so i could only chase him so far. He ended up being probably 10-12lbs or so.
  17. Can't wait to see the pics and here the trip report. Any bass in the double digit range is plenty good in my book, whether it is Florida strain, Northern strain or a mix of the two. I am looking forward to scheduling some sort of trip i nteh future but i will be throwing the fly rod exclusively I would guess you have a good shot at going after the world record on teh long rod too since it is around 16lbs.....talkl about a thrill
  18. And if it is a 60lb grass carp it is most likely a state record as the world record i think is around 80lbs.
  19. For me i usually target them with a fly rod. Unless they are feeding you aren't going to have any luck. Usually you will either see them feeding on the surface or tailing while they are rooting on the bottom. If they are on top i use a small fly if on the bottom i usually go with a crayfish fly of some sort but have caught them on pretty much everything if you can get it in front of them without spooking them. I have read about people chumming for them and waiting for them to get active. They use corn, bread and other homemade concoctions. Then they just bait a hook with the same stuff, chuck it out there and wait....seems boring to me but there is no doubt it works.
  20. yup but it is not as easy as you would think. I have done better on my fly rod than nay other method because as large and coarse of a fish that they look like they are pretty finicky and very skittish. They don't call them the poor man's bonefish for nothing
  21. grass carp or common carp do jump out all the time. This is when i am so happy to target them on the fly because they are looking upwards and are easier to catch.
  22. All the best my friend who i never actually met I will think about you as i watch my Eagels beat up on the Redskins week one.
  23. Depends on the weather but fleece gloves work and especially if you use a handwarmer pack on the back of your hands as it warms the blood going to your fingers. I use the fingerless ones with the fold over mitten part and put the handwarmer in there as it sits on the back of my hand. The only downside is they lose effectiveness once they get wet. Another option that works well are those mechanics gloves or mountain biking full finger gloves. What they lack in warmth they make up for in dexterity. I usually have a handwarmer in each pocket too to help warm up once my hands get chilly. This actually works better than having them in the glove because your glove will get wet at some point.
  24. I'll second the Cortland toothy critter leaders...
