I like topwater this time of year myself but cranks are a close second. With the water temps being warm they will be looking for areas of high oxygen and lower water temps if possible. That usually means either deeper cooler holes or more active water like riffles and the like.

If you are doing it for the money I will caution you against that decision as I have learned the hard way. Money is fun to have but it isn't the end all be all....I am starting classes next week to get my masters in teaching and will be taking a pretty substantial pay cut when it all goes down but you know what....who cares I also bet the 100k comment was referring to the OT as well which isn't always calculated in the standard salary figures. I agree with you guys but certain things are better left unsaid. I know we are to PC these days but there are still plenty of people who are offended by using such terms and if there are other things that can be said go ahead and do it and save the hassle. I also read somewhere that Cooper was known for some crazy stuff in college so a slip up, which is probably what this is due to the alcohol consumption, is not that crazy to imagine.

If Andy Reid was still there or if Maclin wasn't out for the seaso he would have been cut and i think he should be cut and let soemone else pick him up if they are so inclined. He isn't really that great anyways. I have heard though that since he has come back he has been tearing it up in practice. And to me this isn't PC garbage, it is a deep rooted problem that if it doesn;t get cleaned up race relations will never improve.

Yeah it has been raining here seemingly every night and the fishing has been tough to say the least. That is why i have been going after the smaller creeks and rivers targeting smallies and spots on the flows that celar up faster.

That is pretty crazy that a fish that hasn't been established in the waters to long is already setting a world record. I would guess there are even bigger ones out there too.

To me casting light lures a good distance is never totally easy btu the set up you have listed will do so nicely. Personally i would probably drop down a little on teh shimano reel and get maybe a sahara or symetre and put the extra money into a ST.Croix Avid rod instead.

The one tip i have heard and have used with success is in places where there is an abundance of standing timber you have to find the locations that you would fish if you imagined there was not any standing timber. For me that means look for drop offs, channels, humps etc. Once they are located then you fish the timber that is there using the techniques others have already mentioned. One of my most succesful methods is fished an unweighted super fluke and letting it drop down slowly through the timber. I find it works better than a wacky rig or weightless texas rigged stick bait as it moves through the limbs more freely.

This qustion is like asking which is better, a blonde, brunette and then someone else throws in a redhead. I own 3 citicas and have no complaints but as others have stated, what fits in your hand, has the gear ratio you are looking for and the right price is the one to go with.

My thing on Harper is his attitude is bad and always has been bad since he was younger. Granted, the kid has had to deal with more media scrutiny and exposure than anyone since probably Griffey jr. but that doesn't excuse him from blowing a kiss to a pitcher after hitting a home run in the minors or throwing his temper tantrum in the dugout. I totally agree he plays the game hard but that isn't always the best way to go in baseball, playing smart is always better. He ran into a wall what, twice and once in his home stadium, that shouldn't happen. He also makes bonehead plays on the basepaths pretty regularly as well. He does have a cannon for an arm and i agree he can get better but there is no way he deserved to be the youngest all star in history last year when there were plenty of others who were having better seasons. He did handle the Cole Hamels plunking him last year pretty well thoguh so i will give him credit for that one. Will he be above average, probably but he is not going to be one of hte elite to ever step on the diamond unless he has a dramatic shift in attitude.

Of course you can fish with one rod but depending on teh style of fishing you enjoy that one rod may not cover all techniques well. If i had to pick just one rod it would be a 7'MHF casting rod as a good do it all rod. Personally i take 5 give or take: 2 spinning, 3 casting with one being a crankbait specific rod. Now when i am fly fishing i usually only take one, sometimes 2 but I can pretty much fish all types of flies on the one rod.

I was in your same boat a few weeks ago down in Salvo. I had a few older set ups and went to the local shop. They told me to use berkely big game in 20lb test and then sold me a few of the fish finder rigs mentioned above. I already had some lead weight. I then used squid, shrimp and bloodworms. Basically i had a cooler of beer, some chairs, my fishing gear and my headlamp. Went out at night and fished until i was out of beer then headed back to the house. Caught a bunch of croaker and then used those for bait and caught a few sharks. I only fished one night but if i go back i will be fishing pretty much every night.

unless the 5 is drastically different just go to the site, hit the little box with an arrow looking thing at the bottom and then bookmark. Rename the bookmark to whatever you want and then when you begin to typ in the bookmark link it should show up right away and you click it and voila....bassresource on your phone.

I have no problems on my iPhone 4s....sounds like a case of user error. I'll take a mobile site like this one has over an app most times anyways as i don;t have to worry about updating etc....and mine keeps me logged in as well.

i don't think twice if it is at a major retailer. Most have good return policies if something goes wrong.

Personally i rarely cancel a trip out unless it is really bad weather and usually only if it is thunderstorms. There is always something to learn no matter what the conditions. I say go out and see what you can do and even though yo uwant to learn the ropes on deep water techniques i have had some good days shallow after heavy rains. My theory is things are being washed in from the bank which increases forage.

My rods seemed to be noisier at first but you quickly get used to it after a few hours of fishing, well at least i did.

i own three micro guide rods, 2 spinning and one casting all with braid. I haven't noticed any difference in casting distance but i do seem to have better accuracy with the spinning rod than before but that also may just be in my head too.

i wouldn't worry to much about the diameter or maybe just take a small piece of it with you and try and compare sizes in the store. Also given the amount of line that reel holds you may be better off just stripping off about half of the line and topping hte spool off instead of going with a full respool. Also, why are you wanting to respool? I have power pro that is going on three seasons now and have no reason to replace it as of yet. I have never had to replace power pro because it wore out but only because it has gotten to short due to reties, break offs etc...
