Is the misery of kayak fishing worth it?
You might be surprised at the usefulness of a motor. I have been kayak fishing for probably close to 20 years now and always used a paddle kayak. My last kayak I was very close to pulling the trigger on a pedal kayak but stuck with paddle and went with an ATAK 140. Fast forward about 5-6 years and this past year I was debating on selling and getting a pedal boat but instead went with a motor. The Newport Vessels NK180s was just released and is built to compete with the torqueedo at a much better price point and more flexibility on battery options. For about $1300 all in including lithium batteries to power it I am still about a grand under a torqueedo with more thrust. I should have done it a few years ago actually.....

Weed killer
I have always had great success for killing everything with Ortho Ground Clear concentrate. I have a sprayer that I only use for that and it lasts a good bit of time. It does kill everything though so be careful of overspray.

Olympics
Yeah it is a pain to be honest and that is impacting ratings but at the same time I can't help but think ratings are also being impacted by the sheer number of places you can watch too and getting them all compiled together

Availability of viewing is difficult as well with Peacock and Sling handling the lion share of the streaming viewers. It is kind of a pain to get it set up to watch anything really.

Olympics
It is their time. I haven't seen a protest during actual game play. Given your responses it is obvious you don't agree with their stances as well. NFL is doing just fine. I didn't see a single protest while the game was being played which would be their time on the clock.

Are athletes and actors not allowed to speak their minds or is it you don't like their message?

Hiking and Altitude
if you really want to know, get your physician to measure your VO2 max. that will tell you how much oxygen your body can take out of the air basically. the higher the number the better. Cyclists and endurance runners usually have the highest levels.

Hiking and Altitude
It all depends on the individual. When I was an active rock climber we would take a trip out west and climb occasionally. We were all in good shape and could hike with 50lb packs up steep terrain to get to the cliffs pretty easily. When we went to do the same type of hikes, easier probably, at altitudes above 5k feet there were some in the group of us that had no issues, others that could tell a difference and others who it really impacted. No way to know till you get out there. The advice on hydration is a good one as well as the sun block.

Amped outdoors lithium 100 Ah trolling motor battery
I also have been using a lithium hub battery, 30ah, for the motor for my kayak and it has been great.

Olympics
Interesting to see this thread about these fantastic US athletes, most young and other threads where we see chatter about the entitled generation who don't work hard etc.... I like the olympics winter and summer and watch them all. The best thing to happen so far was the women's road cycling race winner. Basically the biggest underdog story in probably all of sports. She was a solo rider, not from a huge team and she was on a breakaway. The majority of her group got pulled back but she kept going. She had such a solid lead that when the second place person, the favorite, came across the line she actually thought she won and had her hands raised in triumph. All the while over a minute earlier the race was already won.

Why is it?
No he wasn't, it's the legend of seeing your dad do something usually at an age where you are very impressionable. I am sure he was fast but it is impossible for any human to match the speed of a nail gun.

Kayak Night Fishing Setup?
yes you can but what you described isn't bank fishing and you are correct one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset. I reached out to the DGIF asking about modifying the regs to allow non gas motors to be allowed after dark like Sandy does and he basically said not gonna happen because of the safety issue around the standing timber in the lake.

Kayak Night Fishing Setup?
You were breaking the law if you fished Briery at night though as it is not allowed and never has been.

Kayak Night Fishing Setup?
I do quite a bit of night fishing in my kayak. Once you get past whatever requirements your state says for night time fishing, all I use is a headlamp with a red light. I am not going out to places exploring so the big spotlights aren't necessary. I also try and do all of my fishing without any lights. you would be shocked at just how well you can see with any type of ambient light out there if you let your eyes adjust to it. I have had some of my best days fishing at night from the kayak but the bats always freak me out..... Oh and definitely get solid bug repellent of your choice as it can get brutal at times, at least around here.

Advice for lure choice and fish location in HIGHLY stained water
muddy and tea stained water are completely different for me. I fish an area that has a high tannin content and on a clear water day it is dark like strong tea. If this is a somewhat normal color then the fish are used to it as well. My rule of thumb is bottom baits I try and match the bottom color, moving baits are either flash or match baitfish, topwater it doesn't matter really. The area I fish I do very well with moving baits (flies in my case) that imitate bluegill as that is the main forage as long as they are pushing some water to appeal to that lateral line.

Pfd’s and comfort
Yes, it is a pain in the ass for sure but it can be done. I test mine every time I replace the cartridge and then re-enter. Honestly though if I ever had to use it, I would probably make my to shallow enough water to stand to make my life easier, especially if I was going to recharge and go back to fishing.

Pfd’s and comfort
I am not sure if it is that exact one because it is bass pro branded but it looks very similar.

Pfd’s and comfort
I have an inflatable like the one in the picture and yesterday when I went to buckle my seatbelt to leave I realized I still had it on.

Far casting rod selection 50-100yd
I want to see the measured 75yard cast video.... Other than deep 15+ foot cranking and swimbaits, I have never had the need to bomb baits as far as humanly possible for bass fishing.

Pulled The Plug On The Pool
We need rain pretty bad here. River is way down. I was banging my motor on my kayak it seemed like all the time today in a stretch of river that I rarely if ever hit bottom

Where to get scales certified near Richmond VA?
I never go by weight citations as I usually use length. I catch quite a few of those a year and you will too if you keep at it. The weights vary wildly as well on a 22" fish. I have had them weigh a little over 5lbs up to 8lb 6oz. besides that, you don't even get a trophy certificate anymore, you have to print them at home lol

Where to get scales certified near Richmond VA?
I am 99% sure that you cannot certify a scale after the fact. Did you measure the length? if so you can have someone who was a witness certify the length and it is the sam thing. https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/trophy-fish/scales/

Looking for the smallest kayak boat that you can stand up.
Yeah I agree that stability is second to none, as good as a PA in my opinion. I thought about going pedal as well but figured I would rather have a great paddling boat with a motor instead of a bad paddling boat with pedals lol. More flexibility as I do a couple multi day river trips a year where I need a decent paddling boat.
