How Do You Show Off That You Fish..
When at work I just complain to whoever that will listen that I ought to be fishing rather than stuck there with them.

Higher Lure Costs
I rarely disagree with Catt, but in this case I do. One does not preclude the other. I have a pretty nicely stuffed tacklebox, with a wide array of lures, and somehow I still manage to catch fish. I am pretty sure folks like KVD and Rick Clunn have pretty nicely stocked tackleboxes as well...

A Rig
It is only a matter of time before somebody hooks five A-Rigs up to the back of one A-rig and drags a school of 25 hollow bodies swimbaits...

Has Anyone Tried Either Of These Frogs?
I love how the Frog R looks, haven't gotten mine wet yet. And at only $4 a pop, you can throw it into the slop and not worry too much about losing it.

Higher Lure Costs
There are some high end baits that are certainly wiser investments than others. Some stuff is retardedly priced (moreau frogs, $79 swimbaits, megabass scream-x), while others are more reasonable. 15 bucks is not so much to pay for a lure that consistently puts fish in your bucket. I catch more on Pointers than all other jerk baits combined. I catch far more on RC1.5s than on any other square bills. In a lot of other cases it's just no contest, higher end catches more fish. For sure, there are some lures that outperform their higher dollar cousins. My old Black Rebel Pop R easily gets me more than my Black Beauty Rico Popper. Bandit 200s out-fish my LC CBs and all other medium cranks. My cheap SK diamondback shad traps crush the fancier LC traps. Part of the fun of the sport is collecting as well as using lures. There are merits to both sides of the cheap/expensive argument. To limit yourself to just one side of the argument is to limit your potential effectiveness as a fisherman. Hopefully this thread doesn't go down as another 'Bass Class Warfare' thread with the hardliners on both sides casting aspersions at each other.

Best Soft Body Frog?
My favorites are the Stanley Ribbits. They have a great sound, cast a mile and are very durable. I will use the rage toad on occasion, but the ribbit is less expensive and more effective for me. The rage toad can be too loud sometimes. When I want to fish a soft plastic frog sub-surface I will use the Horny Toad by Zoom - they have a great gliding action that looks just like a diving frog. One of my favorite techniques is to buzz a zoom toad up to some pads and then let it sink on slack line. It will glide under the pad and bass will nail it.

Old Frog Lure Id
Looks like an old Burke Frog with the front legs removed.

I Had A Dream
LC has some lures with blue bills, red bills, and with crawdad pincers on the bills. Does it work? Probably - at the right place and the right time. Does it warrant painting all of your bills one color or the other? No.

Are These Vintage Lures Worth Anything?
I agree with Hooligan. Those bombers may be worth looking into. The Heddon Sonics (the little rattle traps with the oversized fins) might be worth quite a few bucks if you list them as a 'lot'. If the jitterbug is a wooden one then you should be able to get around $10-20 for it on ebay. Let us know how you do.

I have swum after $5 lures, so would definitely get wet for a $40+++ rig...

Best Hollow Body Frog?
I use Kopper's in heavy weeds and cover and Spros in more open areas. Both are excellent. One of these days I'm gonna be able to grab one of those Deps Basarisky's.

Got mine of Friday as well! Free stuff= :) :)

Yum Dinger
I prefer the real deal, Yamamoto senkos, but the price mounts up pretty quickly, even if using Mend-It. If I am going to fish a knockoff, I prefer the Gander Mt brand of senko knockoffs better than Dingers, because they have less scent. I am still not sold on the efficacy of YUM. I have fished the Gander Brand alongside the YUM brand several times and the Gander wins each time. Other than scent, the two baits are identical... Other good knockoffs that I will fish before the Dingers are the Gambler ACE, the BPS version, or the SK Ocho.

Kopper's Live Target Frog Review
A bass can reportedly see about as well as a cat, so low light conditions to our eyes are not necessarily low light to a bass's. They can see quite well. Added detail cannot hurt.

Buying All New Fishing Gear, Advice?
Abus are supposed to be very easy to break down, clean and reassemble. Very reliable. I don't have one myself, just going on what I've heard. Check out the Rod/Reel/Line forum and you will find a ton of reviews on reels that you might want to think about. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/12-fishing-rods-reels-line-and-knots/

Buying All New Fishing Gear, Advice?
Many manufacturers make a left handed reel nowadays, I use nothing but left handed B.C.s. I am partial to Daiwa reels, but some of them get quite expensive. Instead of saying buy reel 'X', I recommend going to BPS, Gander or Cabellas and see what feels comfortable in your hand. Some reels won't contour to your hand the way you want and you end up wasting time trying to use a reel that is too big or too little for your grip.

Spooks
Love black with the white herringbone down the middle, kicks but for me. Blue/chrome works very well too.

Kopper's Live Target Frog Review
The above is simply not true unless a bass is directly underneath the lure looking up. Depending on the fish's position in relation to the bait a bass can view the sides of the bait as well as the bottom. Further, with the way the kopper's sits in the water and bobs underwater on the retrieve, a portion of the backside is visible underwater as well and is fully visible to fish. So the detail is for more than just catching fishermen...

Yumbrella Double Up Rig
I like this as a smaller alternative to the alabama rig for the small ponds I usually fish. Can't wait to make my own.

My Evaluation Of The Alabama Rig
Supposed facts? LOL Gault

My Evaluation Of The Alabama Rig
Worthless? Seriously? Never mind the facts: - The A-rig has contributed to multiple recent tournament wins... - Only tens of thousands dollars won by several different pros using it - And B.A.S.S. and FLW are working to outlaw it in their tourneys because it is so effective... So yeah, never mind all of that, Redboat's 'exhaustive and highly scientific' study (approximately 8 hours over the course an ENTIRE weekend) concluded that basically it splashed too much so is therefore worthless must be true. /sarcasm No harm intended, just poking fun...

Lucky Craft Rto 1.5
Thanks Hooli. To replace the LC RC 1.5 would the RTO or the new Lucky Strike RC2 be the better bet?
