  1. For example this boat is on ebay right now. 1978 model. If the engine checks (take to boat mechanic, run compression, etc) out I feel this or similar would be a great boat for around $3,000.00. Doesn't have to be a Bass Tracker (could be a Lowe, Xpress, Mr. Bass, there are tons of them). Plus, down the road you could possibly paint this rascal up and make a blind for it for duck hunting if so inclined . Good luck in your search. There are quite a few on ebay and other boat sites. Happy Releasing, H.G.
  2. Dang! I wanted to stock Fl. Strain in Kansas!
  3. Brett is the MAN! He will be greatly missed! I with Burley...one of the guys I respect the most in the game! RIP B.Farve

  6. None. Although recently I have started using Axe Phoenix as my D.O. it has a scent to it.
  7. Should be able to find a 55lb for under $500 Either MK or MG your choice. Don't forget batteries/installation/insulators Congrats on the new boat! oh yea.........get ready to-............................ [move]Bust Out Another Thousand :-/ ;D[/move]
  8. OK...any body have advice on fishing Grand?
  9. I am jumping on RW train if it's ok. I have a tough time typically with less than ideal weather - as seen by my blank yesterday. My only other thought is cover a little deeper to where you expected them to begin with. Good problem to have....Fork Good - weather pattern bad! Go git you some! Happy Releasing, H.G.
  10. Great fish buddy! Keep on casting, you are living in the land of HAWGS!
  11. Git R Done! sorry, had to say it. Very nice instructional posts for those that dare!
  12. Congrats Marcia! We be proud of you!
  13. Hilarious subject! Loved it! Don't fret, warmer water and weather is upon us. Hang in there!!!
  14. You will get a lot of opinions. I vote for a used bass tracker (or similar). Take your time, there a lot of them out there. When you are buying one of those, you are buying the engine. So it's a good idea to have a mechanic take a look at if you are seriously considering it. Happy Releasing! H.G.
  15. My 2 cents is the non cable driven terrova (sp?) motor my friend has makes quite a bit of noise when the head turns. We have spooked some sighted bass by activating it. As stated several times above, the response time in rotating is noticable if you are used to cable driven.
  16. Father in law just bought a place on Grand; Monkey Island. Anybody have a good bass guide recomendation to show us the ropes in that area? Thanks in advance! H.G.
  17. YES! pushed the envelope Sunday and made it out. It was a windy, windy day! Lots of TM time..LOL! Blanked - no players! Had one bite and missed him/her! Good news was the boat ran great (knock on wood)! Well at least I got out and was kindly reminded why they call it fishing not catching! Got to get my boat back in my storage area - supposed to snow now!!! Got to love this midwest weather!
  18. Skunked today matter of fact! :-/
  19. Tip- great situation/problem to have! Good luck in whatever you buy! My only 2 cents is to seriously consider buying a low milage 1 or 2 year old boat, let someone else take the depreciation IMO. Many of the warranties continue to the second owner on the newer boats. Good luck man! H.G.
  20. Swweeetnes Randal! Leaving in the morning for my first time out this year. Sitting here checking out everyones fish and getting excited!
  21. LOL good question Quinn. If I threw that out there would be too many of them wanting to go. Plus my destination is really too far to make it fly. I am going to head out Sunday with a work associate so I will get a little medicine this weekend! Sat. is supposed to hit 70 here! Sunday has high's in the 40's, I think the last couple days will still have the water temps up and hopefully we will find a few looking to get back into shape! Happy Releasing! H.D.
  22. Yup! This joint rocks! A fine collection of anglers here! Thanks Glenn and the Mods!!!!
  23. Welcome mwb724! How is the "titty" treating ya? I left here for about 11 years and moved back about 4 ago, love it here myself. Good luck with the schooling! H.G.
