  1. Awesome rod. Don't hesitate against buying one. Sensitive light and great price.
  2. Hmmm I have two revo 3 stx. Neither has a red disc. I'll have to double check though.
  3. When you take the tension knob off is there a little black disc on the reel side? There should be a metal part in the knob and another black disc under it. If the met part is upside down you will not hear the click.
  4. Milk crate behind me full of plano Boxes with hard baits tackle Etc. Large sized tackle bag up front filled with plastics divided up in gallon zip lock bags. Bungee cords on the crate hold the odd items like pliers bug spray etc onto the crate.
  5. Awesome. Thank you
  6. Wow. That's where we are. Family has been there for about 30+ years.
  7. Balch is where the lake house is. There are some big fish in there of you know where to look. I'm at onway a good amount in the summer as it's only about 10 minutes from home. Not a bad pond minus the skiers
  8. Yeah try returning it to walmart first the the warranty route. It's probably going to cost more to fix then You paid for the rod.
  9. Funny, I have driven by that place about a million times and never knew there was a public launch. That place is on the way to family summer house. Will have to give that a try. Now that I think of it, I don't think I have ever seen anyone fishing out there. Have you tried Onway in Raymond? Its hit or miss but there are quality fish in there also.
  10. What part of nh were you in? Not looking for exact location as I know some people don't like to give that out.
  11. Wow. That's crazy. I had two issues with veritas micro guides last year. I ended up with three veritas rods for the price of one. No questions asked. I submitted the claim and was told they would get back to me. Both times within a day I recieved an email saying a new rod was on its way and didn't even have to pay shipping.
  12. X2. Pure fishing has been awesome with CS. More than likley they will send you a new rod. Might have to pay $10 in shipping depending on how old the rod is.
  13. Put them on the rod and see how they feel. You have to be comfortable with the reel rod combo. What might feel great to you could be awful to someone else. I don't have any quantum reels so no opinion from me on that. I do have a revo s and it has been great for me. It is probably the smoothest of all the revos that I have. Just keep in mind it only comes in a 6:1 ratio. Others on here have had terrible experiences with the gen 3 abu reels. So far I have been lucky. Pure fishing has excellent customer service should there be a problem if you go the abu reel. But again either try one out if you can and if not go put it on the rod and go from there
  14. I have one but to be fair have not used it yet since the water here is covered in ice. The reel is nice and smooth out of the box. To be honest it was smoother than the revo stx I got along with it until I broke them down and cleaned them. The long handle is defiantly noticeable and has over sized rubber grips for leverage. As far as 1/4 ounce cranks, I don't see why it would throw them fine but I don't see myself throwing that small of a crank with a winch reel as I will be using it for deeper running crank baits. The other decoding factor for me was getting 30% off retail price so the value was hard to beat. Don't rule out the bps pq reel which also comes in a 5:1 ratio and will be on sale in the spring. Also a proven winner and smooth reel. Wish I could give you an actual use review but that will have to wait until April.
  15. It's pretty easy to remove the reg bearings. Put the part in a gallon zip lock bag so the retainer pin doesn't fly across the room and remove the retainer pin(s). Then pop them out and flush in acetone etc. Reverse to put them in. My suggestion would be to try it first on a cheap reel. Or send it to a pro.
  16. Haven't looked at my new tatula that close but if I recall correctly there is not a bearing on the spool shaft. I'll have to double check bit don't remember seeing one
  17. Yes the house stuff. I got it at lowes I think it was in the electrical section. It's a small white or gray package looks like a wrapped brick. Not sure how it would work trying to fill a void but worth a shot. You may be better to build a transducer arm that swings up out of the way when needed. It comes off the transducer pretty easy when needed. Once I was happy with the placement I pushed some more duct seal up over the edges of the transducer to make sure it didn't budge. Only negative I found is it takes about an hour for thre water temp to be accurate once the boat is in the water.
  18. What part of maine are you in?
  19. T-rigged rage craw matching the color that's natural to the water, slow across the bottom and hang on. Put a weight on to run deeper or use a keel weighted hook.
  20. I got a orra winch revo stx and daiwa tatula. I must have done something nice to the wife this year.
  21. I used duct seal and don't have to add water and have had no problems. Just make sure there are no air bubbles. It has held up all summer in the heat and can easily be removed without any damage. Best part is it's about 3 dollars for a package of the stuff and of it doesn't work the first time you can make adjustments easily
  22. What do you think of the orra winch? I got one of these also and was surprised how smooth it was out of the box. I also got a stx and tatula and the winch seems smoother than both of those at least on first impression out if the box. Now just have to wait 3 more months before they can be put to use.
  23. X2. This is probably my favorite set up. Only advice if you get the veritas is to avoid micro guides. I have had issues with them but regular guides are great.
