Trying A New Soft Plastic, Not That Any Of Them Work In The First Place
I'll second the craws comment. grab some rage craws or rage lobsters. No way you won't catch fish if there nearby. Just hang on because the fish will crush them. I couldn't believe it the first time I tried them how hard they hit the rage craws.

6:4:1 Or High Speed Ratio
For that price if in good shape I would grab it. It's a minimal difference in IPT in comparison to the savings on buying new.

Lures "helicoptering" In The Air?
I had the same problem with spinnerbaits. It was my casting technique. I bet if you slow your technique down you are essentially rolling the bait causing the spin. Slow down your cast and I bet it will correct itself. For me it was only on the sidearm cast. It's hard to explain it but I realized I was casting side arm and swooping under and casting and the bait would rotate pretty badly.

Tatula Reel
Haha. Solid rigid and orgasmic when you hold it. I just spit my drink across the room reading that.

Combos
I think it's going to be tough to find a quality lasting combo in that price range. PQ would be a good reel choice while it's on sale. Maybe check for a clearance rod or save a bit longer and use what you have for now. As much as it stinks to have to wait it will be worth while in the long run to save your money and get quality gear. Buy cheap now and you will regret it later.

Torn Between The Silvermax And The Promax
What about the orra sx2. Dicks has them online and it's an aluminum frame which will be better then the graphite. I have not used the orra sx 2 however have the orra winch and it's a great reel.

Bps stick-o's work great. That's all I buy now for senkos. You get more per pack and they last longer. Now that being said if tourney fishing gy senkos are a must but for everyday fishing stick o's are great.

Gear Ratio Question
What depth crankbaits? I uses a 5:x;1 for most. If I was going reel deep might go down to a 4:1. I like the 5:1. Because I tend to fish fast so this keeps my baits a bit slower. I also don't really fish deep cranks.

Bought My Very First Boat Today
Simple backing up tip. Put your hand at the bottom of the wheel (6 o'clock). Which ever way you move your hand, the trailer will go. Slow is fast and don't panic.

Different Rod For Each Type Of Bait

Different Rod For Each Type Of Bait
Personally I think it's a bit of both. Different techniques work better with different types of baits. Example treble hooks with a softer rod and faster action for heavier hooks etc. For me it's a convenience thing so I am not spending all day re-tying as I move thorough an area. Check out the thread at the top of the page that lists the 3 rod deal that covers everything you need. That's the vest way to start. Then as you become more addicted you develop a technique specific rod/reel collection

Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
These two holsters are another option http://aliengearholsters.com And Www.comptac.com I use the comptac everyday for off duty/cc . Most comfortable holster I have ever worn. I have a large box full of holsters that I tried and could t find thencomfort zone in. I have not tried the alien gear but a few guys at work use them for there off duty gun and love them.

Concealed Carry 380
Another vote for the lcp. That is my warm weather off duty pocket gun. Only negative to the lcp is the sights suck. I painted them red to pick them up quicker. That being said it's a cqc gun so not that big of an issue.

Go to walmart if there's one near you. I was just at my local one and they had a abu garcia vendetta casting rod on clearance for $29. In my opinion better option than the ugly stick. I think it was a medium action but not sure. I have one that I use for crankbaits and like it a lot even more for that price. I have a set of older pq reels that I would let go for cheap money if your interested and looking to see if you like casing reels. Pm me if your interested.

Bait Caster Reel Help!
You have to be happy about the setup your using. Other people may love or hate what works for you. Go put the reel on the rod and see if you like the combo. I have never used the orra sx however have an orra winch and it's very smooth. Pure fishing (abu garcia) has excellent customer service should you need it. It sounds like you are on a strict budget and dicks is helping that with the coupons. The orra sx will hold up fine for normal use if maintained.

Soft Plastics Rod
^ x2. Going to be hard to beat that combo in that price range.

Bait Caster Reel Help!
I had the same mindset you have about the reels. I take care if my stuff like its worth a million bucks. Then like mentioned above the cheap reels broke and became Un-repairable because the replacement parts were way to expensive in comparison. In the trash they went Started buying quality reels and will never look back. Buy them once and be done. Don't just buy something because you can afford it now. Buy quality when you can afford it. It will be worth the wait. The pq reels are way underpriced for what you get. I have a few of those and they are smooth and perform like the more expensive reels. You are set on shimano so I would suggest save a bit longer and get a reel that will last you many years.
-
Bait Caster Reel Help!
If for crankbaits only I would go with the shimano from those two options simply because the Promax is a 7:1 ratio which I personaly think is to fast for crankbaits. I don't have either reel but personal preference is to have an aluminum frame for crankbaits. There are reels in that price range with aluminum frames.

Abu Garcia Revo S Maintenance
X2 on what RM said on using it for a season. I have one that I did just that and the thing will sling bait a mile. No harm in opening it up though just take your time and take pics. I use a cardboard box trimmed down with a white towel inside so the little pieces stay put. Lay the pieces out on order and just reverse direction back together. It's really pretty simple to do if you are the slightest bit mechanically inclined.

Fish Finder In A Kayak
Temp takes about 30-40 minutes on my kayak to read close to accurate shooting through the hull. Both ways are good. I use a gaming echo 150 and it finds the bottom and structure etc. as far as finding fish well it may be my inability to read the graph but I rarely "locate" fish on it. I'm sure if I spent more money on a better graph it would be better but I can't justify spending a ton of money on a yak when my purpose of getting into yak fishing was to not spend the money on a bass boat but be able to be on the water. That has not worked out so well. Have a ton of money invested into it. Be forwarded. Rigging the yak can be addicting.

Fish Finder In A Kayak
Transducers are a bit different in shape depending on the brand however look similar. Some require being in the water but those are typically structure scan down imaging etc, not what I would consider a cheap graph. A simple 2d sonar should shoot through a kayak hull. Post what kind of yak you have and what graph you plan on using and you may get more help.
