  1. Ugh, wish it wasn't during school. Oh well
  2. Finally ponied up the money for a decent scale and I wanted to hear what you guys using it think about it. Has it been durable for you? From what I've heard these things last nearly forever if you take care of them.
  3. Zap-a-gap instant CA and accelerator, or any other cyocranylate glue and accelerator. A couple drops of glue and a blast with accelerant dries in a matter of second, although waiting a minute will get a better bond. You can get it online or in any hobby shop.
  4. Craziness. The 8" hudd wasn't getting anything but headbutts so I changed it up and went with a 3:16 baby wake. Bombed it across a shallow sand point and the fish hit sucked it down on the deadstick after slowly waking it up to the point. Just a little 2lber but it felt good to stick a swimbait fish with 40 degree air temp and 47 degree water, especially on a topwater bait! Okuma GS 7' 11" XH Shimano Caenan 20lb Trilene XT
  5. Ice fishermen: how does your line not get abraded and cut on the edges of the ice hole when you are fighing a fish?
  6. I was throwing my 18", 20oz rubber trout on my 9'6" XXXXH rod with a 600 size reel and 50lb mono and I hooked one easily 35lbs with a head the size of a bowling ball but I hadn't rigged my bait with a treble hook and swivel, just the jig hook. She headshook at the boat and got away. woulda had the record.
  7. buzzbaits are one of those things where line doesn't really matter IMO. Use fluoro if you like but I wouldn't spend more money on fluoro that adds nothing to a topwater presentation when mono is cheaper.Btw, KVD isn't god.
  8. can you imagine how boring purely factual reviews would be?
  9. sissy droppin all day!
  10. One of you guys better stick a swimbait DD for the bigbait guys on here I'm not talking about those wimpy little keitechs either, LOL!
  11. thanks haha I'll keep that in mind. Maybe if I fish it really slow midday I'll get one.
  12. it's already sealed I like the burnt wood finish the loose bandsaw blade gave it. I just sanded it in spots and clearcoated it.
  13. too bad there's no topwater bite until june
  14. Swim Video
  15. I use two setups 7' 6" MH, 7.1:1 reel, 10lb fluoro- this is used for the smaller soft plastic swimbaits and swim jigs. Mattlures U2 gill and Huddleston weedless shad for example 7' 11" XH, 6.5:1 reel, 20lb mono- used for the big baits! Anything over 2oz and 6" long- examples- 8" Triple Trout, 8" Huddleston, hopefully a Deps 250 next paycheck
  16. I was bankbeating yesterday and forgot to turn on my stealth mode when walking up to the pond. A bass was sitting in a foot of water staring at me while I stared back. I slowly began to set my other two rods down so I could pitch my ds rig at him but at soon as I moved he spooked. I wonder what would have happened if I just stood there.
  17. taking one tommorow morning with my gopro. I'll imbed it here.
  18. maple. A little harder than pine and it holds up to long-term abuse better if you clearcoat it properly.

6" 3pc, 3oz. Owner ST-56 Stinger Trebles 6" Roboworm Tail Its getting a swim test in the morning.
  20. Spooled a yard and opened the bail and it all jumped off and tangled (and yes, I spooled it correctly). I guess its a no go then. I spooled the other 99 yards on a baitcaster and I'll use it for cranking, jerkbaits, shakyheads, etc. I'll just use it as a leader tied to 20lb powerpro on the spinning.
  21. picasso tungsten cylinder DS weights. No silly line clamp, just a swiveling eyelet. Hardly ever snags and doesn't fly off. If it snags, pop it loose and keep fishing.
  22. Good thing I'm accurate with a lipless crank! I bet I could snag one and yank it out of the air into the pond.
  23. The duck lady............... GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
  24. Will 10lb fluoro behave itself on a spinning reel? Its premium stuff (Gamma Edge). Will it stay on and not twist too much or will it just shoot off when I open the bail? I know most people use 6lb if they go straight fluoro.
  25. I throw the 8" triple trout on a MH rod rated to 1 3/8 oz. Its a 2.75oz bait. I think he will be fine.
