Fishing Line Question
Pitching, spinnerbaits, and finesse do not go along at all. I would suggest you spool up with 50lb braid and find another rod for finesse techniques such as using a shaky head or dropshotting, preferably a spinning rod. If the water is clear add a 15-30lb fluorocarbon leader. You can go straight braid for spinnerbaits because they cause a reaction bite. For pitching you may need the fluoro in very clear water, but not stained.

Fishing A Swim Jig
Get a 1/2 oz bluegill pattern swim jig, stick a 4" swimbait on the back and go to town. Cast out past the hydrilla line, count to 5, then start retrieving just fast enough to keep it off the bottom. Bass usually hit it right before it enters the hydrilla line or after you pop it off a few weeds.

Is that the hardgill or the baby? Sinker/floater? Looking into getting a baby floater but TW is out of them

Hobie Kayaks
Alright thanks for all the info guys. One more thing. How much does the pro angler 12 cost?

Dink Depression
wow, people are still hung up about that? As I already said it was foolish and immature and I regret it. Btw, it was a C&R pond.

Hobie Kayaks
Is there a single person version you can stand in? Price? Saving up for a small boat, either an aluminum jonboat or a kayak but it has to be trolling motor compatible and I have to be able to stand in it.

Havoc Sick Fish Question
Try the VMC heavy cover ones. The hook point is tilted slightly up instead of being in line with the eye so you have better hook-ups. (Still completely weedless when texposed)

Havoc Sick Fish Question
Screwlock weighted hook. I like a 4/0 1/4 oz. (4" Sick Fish)

Dink Depression
Went out to 3 different ponds today looking for a decent bedding fish. One was empty of beds, one only had a few, and the other had a fish chilling in the shallows. I caught 3 bass over the course of 5 hours. I haven't caught a bass over 3 pounds since november. maybe 200 3/4-1 pound bass since then. I think I'm starting to get tired of exhausting myself riding my bike around just to catch a few small bass. I sat around bored and depressed and did nothing all afternoon since I fished because there is nothing I enjoy besides fishing. I just want to catch a darn 5 pounder so I can be happy instead of working my butt off for a couple dinks, but there are no big fish in the ponds I fish and I have no way of getting to a larger lake. I know this is kind of a pointless post but I had to get that off my back. Does anyone else feel this way?

Consensus On Trokar Hooks
I have not used trokar hooks, but I have heard a number of mixed opinions including some people saying that they have lost more fish because the cutting point tears a hole in the fish's mouth v.s. punching a hole like a gamakatsu or owner hook. Has anyone experienced this?

Favorite Buzzbait?
I like the Ganns Performance Tackle Silent Series Buzzbait. Megastrike also makes a buzzbait that is very good. I haven't used it but if the TW reviews are to judge it is a great buzzbait.

Why All The Salt?
gotcha thanks fo rthe explanation.
-
Why All The Salt?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in most cases salt means less action because the bait sinks and less durability because the salt literally shreds the plastic when it is moved quickly. I have also heard some people saying that it attracts more bites which is complete crap because fish don't taste until they bite the thing. Aside from casting weight and wanting a sinking bait, why do bait manufacturers like GY, Keitech, and SK all put tons of salt in their baits? It just seems pointless to me when you can have an unsalted bait with scent that lasts 5X as long, floats (which can attract more bites), and the fish still hold on to?

Curious Bedding Bass Behavior
Hey everyone, I did a little bed fishing today and observed a few pairs of bass that were doing something rather interesting. They would turn on their side, one after another for a few minutes in a row, only stopping when the male chased off bluegills. Does anyone know what they were doing? Thanks.

Flippin' And Pitchin' Applications
sounds like your spool tension is too tight. Loosen it to the point where you have a little side to side play in the spool, then tighten it until there is no more play. You have to control the spool with your thumb. You will get backlashes a few times because you won't know when to thumb it and how much pressure to apply, so your bait will hit the ground. Just keep practicing, you'll get it.

Pre Spawn Habits Of Bass
Wacky rig a little baitfish imitator dude. I have been killin the cruisers lately on a 3.6" PTL JP Hammer Shad wacky rigged. Cast it a foot away from them and just twitch it like an injured bluegill fry. They will come up and inhale it. Here's a short video demonstrating this technique. Right now the bass are hanging around bluegill beds looking for a spot to make a nest, and they will pick off fry.
