  2. Coming from someone who played the game for a little bit and didn't really hunt for sponsors. Listen to everyone who has posted so far. If your truly interested in it, build a relationship with a local company. Don't just go up and ask for a sponsorship. Just talk with them, go fishing with them etc. As an example the way I got mine was at the fishing expo that my club puts on every year. After helping him set up he gave me a free bait. We exchanged numbers and off we went. 4 weeks later I'm at his house and am now producing lures with him and am marketing for him. The key is to bring money in for them. I've brought almost 300 dollars of revenue from baits that I've sold or convinced guys to make an order for. Money is the key factor. Keep that in mind and have fun. Tight lines Andrew
  3. Great Video. I never thought to do the along the gill plate method. I personally use cull tags that are made of the same material as rod socks with a float in the end that work very well. Im curious what does everyone else use besides the Accu Cull? Tight lines Andrew
  4. Liar Haha You caught one vertical with me Anyway dropshot will work in pretty much anyway you want to fish it. Its probably my go to bank technique Tight lines Andrew
  5. Blew my motor 2 weeks ago in the biggest tourney of my life. Blast off was 6:30 motor went pow before 6:31. It would go and blow right at the beginning of a 2 day event. In the end it went from blown motor to this So an expensive fix turned into a good day. Although I'm still without a motor. Tight lines Andrew
  6. I have Evnirude controls that came with the boat and yamaha controls from my current motor I have a Mercury trophy Prop that is currently on my yamaha
  7. This rod is My favorite Rod of all the various others in my collection. I have mine paired with a an Abu Garcia Revo sx 30 spinning rod that does an excellent job with it. I have 8# braid with a 6# flouro leader. Im not sure if you have other St Croix's in a similar action but I find it very unique. It is excellent for shakyheads and also doubles as a really good senko rod. Its the rod in my locker that gets the pink rod sock because its my baby lol After 4 years of owning this rod I have no Complaints. Its a little butt heavy with my reel which is good for tip up presentations. Its also responisble for all of these Tight lines Andrew
  8. I have a Merc and Evinude dealer that is an excellent shop right at the marina I launch at so ease of parts and maintenance is really close. The yamaha dealer is not very good from all the stories I have heard.
  9. When i bought the boat It had a blown motor and it had evinrude controls with it so I have the stuff hotfoot oil tank etc
  10. Probably two as that is what we have had I know the Sho is a four but it is also the most expensive I was thinking the Pro xs, HO or the Sho more than likely the first two due to price
  11. OK well this past weekend during a tournament my motor completely blew up with no hope of repairing it so now we are looking at our options. Our dealer recommended the Evinrude 150 HO but I have heard a lot of bad stories about Evinrudes. I loved our Yamaha but the 150 who isn't exactly the cheapest. I know a lot of people like their Mercury's but I have never owned one. I'm not looking to start any fights or anything just looking for info on some of the different brands. What are your opinions? good? bad? personal experiences? Thanks in advance Tight lines Andrew
  12. It really helped that my partner put a three pounder in the boat right away

Oh well we both ended up doin well congrats again Tight lines bud Andrew
  16. So as my friend and normal Partner Everythingthatswims has already given his view and results of his two days on the glorious Lake Anna fishery in VA I had a rather interesting two days. It started out with Blast off. 6:30 AM. 6:31 motor goes ping po pow and dies (probably a blown power head) and we are dead in the water right out of Sturgeon Creek. 6:35 my partner hooks up with a bass that ended up weighing 3.11. We are now fishing along main lake walls heading back into sturgeon creek. After a couple hours we have a limit in the boat and can't believe we are this fortunate. 10:20 we make the first cull of the day and continue fishing drop shots and shakyheads 12:00 I hook into a chunk of a fish that weighed 3.55 and would be the big fish for the day. A couple more culls later and we start nearing weigh in. as we have made our way back into sturgeon creek marina we fish the docks that are right there at the weigh in (those who have been there no what I'm talking about) At 2:25 we make a final cull before weigh in at 2:30. day one weight 11.75 good for second place for the day. Ironic that the two boats that had messed up motors finished 1st and second. Day two was basically the same thing fishing in the same sort of spots and was only able to get four fish as the sun came up post front. Weigh in came and the four fish were good enough for 6.85. For a total of 18.60. In the end it wasn't good enough and we were bumped to third placed and missed our shot at qualifying for the high school championship on kentucky lake in july. Although we are alternates we won't make it Congrats to my buddy for winning it with an awesome 2 day weight of 28+ pounds. tight lines Andrew

  21. So we have a 1989 Yamaha 150 pro v on the back of a 1999 stratos 273 vindicator. We normally run with a 23p merc trophy and run about 5300 rpms wide open at 57-59 mph. On a recent trip to the chickahominy River we noticed that the fastest we could get it to go was 52 and it was falling on its face trying to get on plane. After inspection upon getting home I noticed a small crack in the blade of the prop, and thought that might have been the problem. Switched the prop to the old 25p 3 blade that we used to run 59.5 on at 4700 rpms only ran 53.5 at 4300 rpms. I'm out of ideas guys. I have a huge tourney coming up on April 25-26 that I need it running good by. Any suggestions would be awesome. Tight lines Andrew
