  1. I dropped a strike king 6s crankbait while organizing tackle this winter instinct had me reach out and catch it only to bury a treble into my hand man those hooks were sharp
  2. Was in the middle of a cast one time and had the wind scoop the line way up high and had a goose fly into it making me lose my lure it didn't hook the goose luckily
  3. I remember doing stuff like that when I was younger now you can barely get me out of the fishing section if you manage to do that I will probably be going to the restaurant that is attached to it (Ashland BPS) or to the boating section. By the way Sam you seem to be the holy grail for information on anything for bass fishing!!!!!
  4. m I use red label for leader material and tie my leaders to my rod by tieing an Alberto an inch above the first guide. With the knot being so small it passes through the guides with no problem
  5. How do you like the tatsu?
  6. For An all around reel ratio I would get a 6:4:1 which Lew's has in almost all of their reels for a all around rod I would get the St Croix mojo bass in 7" MH fast action it's the spinnerbaits rod in the line up but will work for plastics jigs spinnerbaits and really anything you throw at it that rod is a workhorse. Best of all the rod is a hundred bucks.
  7. Seaguar red label is what I use I like it a lot and it compares to trilene 100% at way cheaper prices.
  8. I would like to know what lines everybody else uses. I use either power pro braid in 10 20 and 40 pound test and then seaguar fluorocarbon what does everybody else use. Andrew
  9. I've had snappers three times really starting to get irritated bout it snagged a carp while working a swimbait a bull frog on a Texas rigged craw a pumpkinseed on the tail of a shaky head and last but not least a sock on a crankbait
  10. Thanks for answering that question guys
  11. I tore all of my reels down today considering I hadn't done it since I got them and man was I suprised how much extra grease the put in those things I left the spools and bearings alone I don't want to mess anything up like you guys have said I will definitely look into sending at least my Lew's in to be professionally tuned. Thanks for all the imput you guys have given me. I did notice one thing while cleaning them today. The Lew's seems to be mechanically the same as the PQ. The parts seem to be the same in the same spots as the PQs. The other thing I noticed is the spools are compatible are PQs made by Lew's?
  12. I have 3 bps PQ's and one Lew's tournament Mg. i want to try and improve these reels to the best of there ability. Being in high school I don't have the money to send them in to get them super tuned. Is there anything that I can do myself to improve the functions of the reel without having to spend tons of money on them. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Andrew
  13. I fish all of my cranks on one of two rods, a St Croix mojo bass in 7'8 MH moderate action for any thing with a considerable lip on it and a BPS PQ rod in 6'8 MH fast action I use it for square bills and smaller cranks. I throw braid on both of those rods I believe that by using braid its easier to keep constant pressure on the fish.
  14. I to wonder that I have an Abu ultra mag XL plus that does it and I like it a lot. It allows it to cast so much smoother in my opinion and then you don't have the line loop over the other like in the modern day baitcasters it's a good feature
  15. I have a spiderwire backpack that I use to bank fish. It has tons of pockets and 2 big main pockets one that is designed for Plano boxes. It works exceptionally well.
  16. I have a tournament mg that I absolutely love. It's my favorite reel by far it's extremely smooth even when you have considerable amounts of torque on it. It's got all of the clicky's on it that I like like the cast control knob and the star drag. All of the reels I get in the future are going to be Lew's besides a revo sx I highly recomend it.
  17. My St Croix LTB jig and worm rod is a 6'8 and I absolutely love it
  18. X how ever many the number is up to for braided line I have 40# power pro on most of my casting rigs but One which has 80# spiderwire for A-Rigs the sensitivity is amazing
  19. As previously posted the Lew's tournament mg has a low ratio for cranking and a deep high capacity spool for long casts its my favorite reel of all my setups
  20. If you have narrowed your decision down to a couple reels go onto to tackle warehouse go onto the reel and click demo this reel the only cost is the shipping it's a great program that allows you to get hands on experience with the reel your looking to buy
  21. There's one for sale in the flea market if your interested I wish I could afford something likethis though,
  22. 250 for a combo has a lot of options look at the St Croix mojo bass series this series is one of my favorites by them and the run from 100 to 130 I'd look at their jerkbait rod it handles jigs rather well and should work for cranks also and for a reel I'd look at the Lew's tournament mg for 124(outstanding reel my favorite) or a revo sx 159 both great reels
  23. 7 foot MH Fast is the most versatile for me I throw square bills jerkbaits jigs spinnerbaits topwater you name it it can throw it.
  24. shaky head should work good there sitting in the rocks in the middle of the channel
