  1. I came across these at my local tackle shop today, and the got my curiosity going enough to pick up 2 packs. Have any of you fished these, and what are your thoughts?
  2. Seeing as these things seem to work best for me when deadsticking them I have never been too concerned with their fall rate. I just let them sit until my patience runs out, and then let them sit some more.
  3. 2/0 EWG light wire hooks, and a 1/8oz tungsten weight, but I also like them on a jig. I don't use the rage rig, so someone else can chime in for that.
  4. Whether Duckett rods break more, or not, it's comforting to know they have a 20 year warranty on their product and a fantastic customer service team.
  5. The only time I hold the line is when dropshot fishing on Lake Erie in about 20' to 40' of water.
  6. I started using the River2Sea glassie vibe this spring as an alternative when my local shop didn't have the silver buddy in stock. It's different in that it's encased in plastic, but I've become a fan.
  7. I voted weighted as I am usually adding some type of weight on my t-rigged plastics. Whether I peg the weight, or not, is the bigger decision to me.
  8. Now that's a painful day!
  9. I've used them on a dropshot and done ok.
  10. The bone color with a little orange on the underside works great for the waters I fish.
  11. I am not a fan of Red label for main line, but as a leader material for dropshotting it is good. I've used the Invisix primarily on my baitcasters in 12# and have been generally happy with it. I tried a spool of Abrazix, but didn't find it to be any better, or worse, than Invisix so I stuck with that. I am not loyal to Invisix by any stretch of the imagination, but it is very convenient to buy as all of my local shops carry it.
  12. Speaking of the PX-R and PXL-R, I just saw that Tackle Warehouse has them marked on sale for just under $400!
  13. I got the PXL-R this year and compared to the other Alphas I own (Ito Megabass tuned) it is leaps and bounds better. Like Raul stated it is everything a Pixzilla wanted to be, but never could. My only regret in buying mine is that I now want many more!
  14. Nope. My company uses direct deposit and I have $50 from each pay go into my "fishing fun money" account. It's actually named that, too.
  15. Baby bass, green pumpkin, and Houdini. If I know that the waters have smallmouth I will use bubblegum.
  16. Color is usually the last thing I am concerned about. I will change a lure based upon the type of cover/structure/water depth I am fishing. My color choice is determined within the first few moments I arrive at the location of water I am fishing. After that I typically don't worry about it.
  17. Yes, and no. The plastic used on bottles is very different than that used for soft baits. I don't remember the exact science of it, but there is a difference.
  18. The way it was explained to me is that after a miss the bass will typically head straight to the bottom, and following up with a soft plastic bait gives them an opportunity to hit something while their feeding trigger is still in the "on" position. I suppose throwing the same lure back will also work, but I've had no reason to try it since the soft plastics after the miss have worked very well for me.
  19. Everyone was saying to save a little more for you because the quality really goes up with the $50 extra. At $250 and up you literally cannot get a bad real that you'll want to upgrade down the road.
  20. Switch to a copolymer line, or even mono until you resolve your casting issues. Just my $0.02.
  21. A little KVD L&L after the line transfer will also help.
