Booyah Boogie Bait vs Chatterbait
I'm going to have to go with the Booyah Boogie Bait over the chatterbait simply for the fact that the Booyah has a bigger ring connecting the head to the blade as apposed to the chatterbait which doesn't. I think this gives it more action as well as more play when fighting a fish.

My name is Matt, and I own the Banjo Minnow...
I too have the banjo minnow, the first time i used it I was using the smaller minnow with my ultra-light spinning combo and 6 lb. test. I was fishing smallies and i was hangin off a bridge (how I had caught smallies numerous times before) and I hardly got 5 jigs in when a big smallie came out from under a log and hammered it. I managed to get the fish pulled up to the bridge only to have it break my line right before it was in arms reach.... o well, i still had great luck with the Banjo Minnow all the other times I used it and would be using to this day if my kit hadn't dissappeared. I still dont know where that sucker went....

Ya they could've been caught somewhere else, the e-mail just said rainy lake. and from what the e-mail said, the guy in the pic is some wrestling coach, from where I don't know. But either way, we went cliff jumping on Rainy Lake a few years ago when the water was low, and I knew they had big stergeon...

Chatterbait's New Frog
I was at Cabelas last weekend and about did a flip in front of everyone when I saw that they were selling 26 pc chatterbait kits for $20!!! Kit came with the original chatterbait, a mini chatterbait, the chatterfrog and the new flippin chatterbait. Not to mention 6 skirts, rattles, and about 15 plastic trailers and a free DVD. The chatterfrog looks awesome, and I can't wait to hit the water with these bad boys. Here's the link in case anyone's interested. http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0043275121956a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=chatterbait&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=chatterbait&noImage=0

I dunno what he used for bait, but my best guess is live bait. Maybe a dog or a cat, or maybe just a big thick steak...

Cabelas' Fisherman Series Spinnerbaits
Just got back from Cabelas last weekend and spend half my college fund in the process stocking up for this year. But I found some Cabelas Fisherman's Series spinnerbaits with red willow leaf blades on sale for $3! I bought one in each color out of curiosity. They look pretty promising and got a 5 out of 5 rating, but I was wondering if anyone has tried them and if so, what they think. http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037416120856a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=fisherman+series+spinnerbaits&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=fisherman+series+spinnerbaits&noImage=0

Rainy Lake GIANTS!!!
Hey all, I go up to rainy lake every year on a father-son deal with my dad and a bunch of my friends and their dads. When I got this e-mail I couldn't believe the size of these pike!!! Both pics were taken in Rainy Lake, although I don't know exactly where they were fishing. This is something you gotta see to believe. (I hope I can get the pics on here, if not, I'll try putting the link up)

Do you listen to music while you fish??
For me, one of the best things that go along with fishing is the sounds that come with it. whether its birds and bugs in the morning, or the splashing of a fish or frog. or even the sounds the leaves make as the wind whistles through them... And then theres the best sound of all, the grunt of both the angler and the reel as he sets thee hook on a fish, the splash the fish makes as it jumps in and out of the water and joy in the angler's voice as he gets his catch in the boat. Without noises like these, fishing wouldn't be fishing, I'll save the music for the drive home...

gotta kick outta reading everyones replies to this bait lol but needless to say, I can easily say right now that I'm sure I will be buying some of them in the near future, despite how ugly the monkey is....

best way to fish a gulp! nightcrawler?
i'm sorry manny, as for being elaborate, I wacky rig them by hooking them through the middle of the body so that the worm is perpindicular with the hook (per say) and fish it weightless, to learn more about wacky rigging, try a search for it on this site, you should find more than enough information.

best way to fish a gulp! nightcrawler?
I've had the gulp crawlers (in the natural color) for a couple of years now and fished them a number of different ways, but i've had my most success by far when wacky rigging them. they usually only last for about two or three fish (if that) but if ya rehook them a few times you may be able to get a few more fish out of them.

Which Bass Fishing Magazines do You Read?
Bassmaster, had in-fisherman and NAFC (North american fishing club) but they cover too many different species, I liked them when I was younger, but now that I've found my true passion in life (bass!) there's only one magazine for me and that's bassmaster. I'm also planning on subscribing to Bassin magazine.

Farm Ponds
Sound's great! I have a classmate with a 6 yr old pond and in it they have lm bass, catfish, and georgia giant (bream) and let me tell u, the bream are HUGE! Those suckers will hit spinnerbaits when I'm bass fishing and I can usually catch them (they have big quite big mouths). I also agree with LBH, I WANT A POND!!!!!!

split shot rig
Sometimes if it's really windy, I will use a very small split shot on my wack rigs (right above my knot) to help keep my line tighter and give me a faster fall.

Crankbait Retrieve
This may be a little irrelevant, but so far this year I've fishing the Rapala X Rap for bass and they love em!!! Especailly the smallies, I know the X Rap is a slash bait, but you can retrieve it steadily (it produces a slow, wide wiggle) but I've had the best success with a stop-and-go jerking technique. Just my $0.02 -Jacob-

"Angler on Tour" Cancelled?
I too have noticed that "Angler on Tour" hasn't aired in the past few months. My whole take on the ordeal is that the network stopped airing the show because Joe did "Ultimate Match Fishing", so I'm guessing "Angler on Tour" will go back on air as soon as they stop airing that.

THIS SUCKS
Sorry to hear that jmaness12, but it's all part of growing up, I'm only 19 but I've had a full-time summer job at a local mill since I was 15. Yes I had to sacrafice fishing time, but it's worth it everytime you get that friday paycheck. And while I will admit, I've propbably spent a little too much of that hard earned money on fishing tackle (something I don't regret doing). Holding a job gives you good experience for the future.

Fishing in wind!?!?
I just got in from fishing a 114 acre lake that is about 6 miles from my college. It was very windy out and I had to really work for the fish. I only caught three, and of the three, one was of decent size, the other two I pretty much jerked right out of the water. I tried a crankbait, spinnerbait, jig and pig, t-rigged worm, t-rigged tube, and a senko. I caught all of my bass in calmer water behind wind breaks, but I was wondering what baits everyone uses in windy conditions and where they fish.

best sounds of "fishin"
Well said Hawgin My other favorite sounds are as follows 1.Nature's early morning silence 2.The sound of my bait quietly entering the water after each cast 3.The noise made by the birds and insects in the early morning mist 4.The sound of my spinning buzzbait blade as it trickles over the glassy-smooth water 5.The noise the water makes as it claps against the side of the boat
