  1. I actually buy my bass in bulk. FedEx overnights them and then I pose with them. Seriously, thanks, ICD!
  2. They were really hitting. We had an afternoon cold front with thunderstorms and I think the bass knew it was coming. In the dictionary, kindness has this definition: n. of, like, or pertaining to Alex
  3. If @A-Jay gets to carve 7.5 faces, I'm adding a fifth: @WRB!
  4. Not me. I retie the night or afternoon before I launch. Last year, I drove an hour to launch without paddles. Me too and I love the planning. You too? Wow, @A-Jay! Impressive.
  5. Alex, you've got a streak going. Go, man, go!
  6. Thanks, @TOXIC
  7. Yes, that was Einstein. I saw KVD catch a two-pound bass in Japan. He held it close to his body and said, "Two-pounder." Then he thrust it at the camera and said, "Ten-pounder!"
  8. All of Florida was a different place back then. The Florida of my youth was sea shell shacks and alligator wrestling. I'm expecting to end up back on the bank where I started too. I've disagreed with you in the past on this point. Miami borders the Everglades. A freeway crosses it, as do other roads. There are far wilder places on Earth. It's like Maine. Maine can present the illusion of wilderness as long as you don't walk or paddle five or ten miles this way or that and encounter roads and people. No, thank you.
  9. I assume you're a descendant of the great man.

I always have a Senko ready for a follow-up cast.
  11. Don't blame me. Blame Einstein.

I wish I could help, but I don't know. I have had many bass hit a lure more than once and the first hit was light and the second was a wallop.
  13. My dad, who let me tag along with my brothers @AlabamaSpothunter, for his wisdom and encouragement @PhishLI, for the same @Glenn, for his videos, which have taught me so much about lmbing. As you all know, I fished brown bass for nearly 50 years. Green bass live in green weeds and getting them to bite and then getting them out of the weeds has been such a steep learning curve, but Glenn's videos sure help.
  14. So, yesterday, I caught some fine bass. Like this: I loved catching her and I love looking at her. She's long and thick. You can see she's convex in the middle, clearly well fed, but then I look at this girl, also caught yesterday, and the above fish looks skinny! Einstein first discussed this phenomenon in the Theory of Relativity. Yes, Einstein was a basshead and quite a stick, I've read. Have you also seen the Theory of Relativity in your angling life? If so, do share.
  15. Love those three pics, @A-Jay. Somewhere, I have some old photos. I hope I can find them.
  16. I had a Zebco 404. It was junk!!! I still fish that way, but I no longer have a junky Zebco 404 and thank goodness for that, as I couldn't land the bass I do if I did.
  17. Mike, those waters still exist in Florida. Watch Old Lady Angler's videos on YouTube. You generally don't see other boats in her videos. And @Zcoker doesn't meet many other night anglers in the Everglades, I'm guessing. I'm generally alone on a pond or bog, but if I were to fish the popular water, like nearby China Lake, there'd be other anglers.
  18. I'm jealous. I would LOVE to take 16 rods, but my canoe isn't big enough to keep them from tangling.
  19. I love that photo and your post, Captain Phil. Like @TnRiver46, I still fish simply, I.e. from a hull with a paddle and launch from dirt, sitting on a plank of sorts, but I do take two to five rods, which no one carried back then.
  20. Me too! I have always loved lures. My brothers and I used to have the Battle of the Lures, where we'd lay our lures on the kitchen table and argue about who had the best collection.
  21. I kept thinking it had those pointier wings, but it also looked eagle-sized. I'm just glad a dinosaur likes the pond too. I enjoy them overhead.
  22. I forgot to share that the Pitcher plants I photographed in my prior trip aren't the least bit rare at my pond. Now that I'm attuned to them, I saw hundreds of them yesterday. Evidently they love wetlands. There's also a pair of loons and I saw either an eagle or osprey for the first time yesterday too. It was faraway, which is why I wasn't sure. It kept flashing white, but both raptors have white on them.
  23. How did you fish those T-rigged Senkos? Slow retrieve? Drag them on the bottom? Something else?
  24. Great idea. I have a lot of spinnerless ones, which do still catch bass, but I like the extra flash. I've even had bass hit the spinner and remove it. I'll feel the hit and reel in an underspinless lure.
