There is many to be had now for $5. There not the yum ones but I don't think the fish would care.

Bass Pro Qualifier Help
Thanks everyone I figured out the brakes and there all off. I know this thing is defiantly not casting right so I will be taking it back. How is the warrenty on these things? I have the receipt and its been almost 4 months so I can't do a return on it.

Dumb Question
Yes I usually just pull them apart and fish them that way. I know people who leave them connected and catch fish like that. It moves more water since it is a bigger area but them again it has less action since it just one big peace basically. Both of those characteristics can be good at certain times, it just depends on what the fish want.

Bass Pro Qualifier Help
Yes I have the mag brakes set to two and the tension knob set correctly. All the centrifugal brakes look like there off but when I try to slide them out I feel like I'm going to break them so I stop. Is that how you engage them, by sliding toward to little spring?

Spring Sale!
Well the reel and rod trade ins are pretty good but I wouldn't wait on anything else.
-
Dumb Question
Yes most people remove them but you don't have to. Some people leave them connected for a different action.

Sc Avid Mh Too Heavy For My Uses?
Oh ok I see what your asking, i haven't fished this rod so I don't know about it. I think it would be perfect because I use a heavy powered rod for jigs in the 3/8-1/2 ounce range.

Bass Pro Qualifier Help
I bought a pro qualifier several months ago because of all the good reviews I read. However I'm having some problems casting it, it seems like no matter what line, rod, or lure I put on I can't cast it very far at all. Obviously a 1 ounce bait cast farther than a 1/4 on it but, still extremely short compared to all my other reels. I know this reel has dual brakes but I'm assuming they both work off of the knob on the side plate of the reel? Also I'm no pro but I have used many different baitcasters before with no problems. Thanks

Lews Reels
Could you tell me what's better about the tournament pro vs the tournament?

Sc Avid Mh Too Heavy For My Uses?
A mh is a good power for that, if I had to go to a different action it would be a heavy not a medium.

Shaky Head Setup
Yeah I've think I've decide to go with the champion series. I just can't decide between the 702 vs the 703? I usually fish a 3/16 or 1/4 head if that helps. Also what's wrong with the round head design?

Lews Reels
So is the tournamnet pro worth the extra $50 over the tournamnent if I'm not too concerned about the weight difference between the two reels?
-
Lews Reels
Could someone give me a run down between the different models of lews. More specifically the original speed spool, tournamnet, and tournamnet pro. I have a tournament pro and I love it but I'm in the market for a new reel and I know some say the original speed spool is as good as any of them but I see many people on here with the tournamnet pro. Obviously cheaper is better but I don't mind spending a little more for much better quality.

Lews Reels_Anybody Use Em'
Well in my opinion the pro who only uses spinning is probably very limited espically if he fishes a variety of different lakes. But it also depends on where you live and the style you fish. If you lived in Florida and always fish grass mats then you may not need a spinning reel and if you up north and drop shot you may not need a bait caster as much. Regardless if you only fish one reel you don't have as many options.

Looking For A New Rod - $100 Range
I hate two piece rods, they break very easy, come apart on cast, and aren't as sensitive. If you must go two piece though, the abu Garcia veritas is the only one I know of above the $50 mark. I have several of the one peace models and like the a lot.

Lews Reels_Anybody Use Em'
I have found many people that think this lately and I don't know why? I guess today's pros are usually using bait casters so people feel if they don't than there not a good fisherman. I use a spinning reel almost as much as my bait caster with all the finesse lures I use it really comes in handy.

Shaky Head Setup
Thanks for the advice . I will defiantly call them to help me with which one i need if i chose dobyns but I always like to hear the unbiased opinion of someone who has actually paid for the rod if you know what I mean. Also I have decided to make that budget just the rod and i will slap my pfluger on it for now.

Live Target Cranks For 2.98
I found many times that dicks will be running some good items on clearance but usually their store specific. I know because I live pretty close to 3 different stores.

Shaky Head Setup
Oh yeah I forgot about the budget. I would like to spend between $150 to $250. Mainly I'm just seeing what everyone uses so I can kimd of get an idea of what I need. I'm thinking about a dobyns champion series but I haven't found anyone who has fished the spinning model yet.

Shaky Head Setup
I would like to know the rod brand, size and action, line and the reel you use for shaky heads. I'm looking for a new setup as I'm fishing this rig more and more now. I mostly use a 3/16 and 1/4 ounce heads if anyone has some recommendations. Also pictures of your rods would be nice if y'all have them.

Line For Crankbait Setup
I would go 10 to 14 depending on the type of cover and how deep you need the bait to run. I like mono better for cranking but many guys prefer flurocarbon. I think mono allows the fish to inhale the bait a little more before you set the hook and also the extra stretch can be good so you don't rip the hooks out of there mouth.
-
Shaky Head Line
I was wondering what pound test of flurocarbon line everyone uses for shaky heads. I have been using 8 but I thinking about going down to 6 or 7 or maybe go back up to 10 becuase ive had a few break offs. I fish slightly stained water if that makes a difference and also thinking about trying sunline sniper 7 pound test if someone could tell me about it and if it may allow me to get more bites over my 8 pound test seaguar.
-
Line Recomendation?
I would go 10 or 12 pound test mono for cranks and 17 or 20 pound flurocarbon for jigs.
