Favorite Bluegill Imitator?
Yup anything Mattlures. The u2 is an awesome bait, I just grabbed 2 more during Black Friday. I'll add the Black Dog Shellcracker g2 since no one's mentioned it.

Your Opinion On Fishing Pics
When I take a picture I really don't think about it. If I took 5 pictures my arms would probably be in 5 different positions. Take the picture and move on... 5lbers still a 5lber no matter how you hold it, now if you have to make a 3 look like a 5 just to say you caught a "5" then you obviously need to work on your fishing skills. IMO people should worry more about accurately guessing or "weighing" there fish before posting pics on here and saying how big it wasn't. It's those 15" 5lbers that get you in trouble.

Topwater In November?
Nice job man! Last year in mid December with water temps at 36 degrees we caught some fish on 4" wake baits after going through almost every other bait we owned. They wouldn't hit much of anything else, but would suck down that wakebait. Sometimes the fish go against common logic.

The Last Hoorah

Same Fish !?
I got the same 20" twice this year about a month apart. She had a distinct indent in the top of her back. Ate a swim jig both times and the spots were about 50 yards apart. I actually took a picture of her the first time I caught her and got her on the gopro footage the second time.

This Is What I Call Customer Service
I've always had good luck with Pure fishing/Abut Garcia. I sent in a broken reel that was a year past its warranty and they had it back to me in a week with no cost to me. I even included a letter with my contact info so they could charge my credit card before shipping it back. Can't beat great CS.

- What Is A "big" Bass In Northern Wisconsin
Mark- that thing is a friggen TOAD! True giant for up in our neck of the woods. Scum frog?- Favorite Fishing Find Of The Year.
I started throwing Huds and Mattlures u2 gill with success this year. They were the only new to me baits I bought and they both have there place and time for next year. I tried the subwoofers last year as a swim jig trailer and now have a pile of them, great bait.- Last Four Years Results On Lake Erie
- Your Season
I focused my year on chasing quality fish and it paid off. Ended up with more 4-6lbers than I ever have in a single season. Considering I only got out 3 times this fall I was really happy with how things turned out. Fished a few new lakes, found new areas on my go to lakes, and both equalled more quality fish in the boat. I also started throwing swimbaits later in the year and ended up with a few nice fish on them. This was one of the best highlights for the year because I got a lot of chit from people up here for throwing a Hud 68, they thought it was to big. It was pretty rewarding when it was choked down a largies mouth after throwing it for only 10 minutes.- What Are Some Of Your Best All Around Bait's You Use For Bass?
To speak for my boy rockchalk, yes those are subwoofers, and yes they make a killer swim jig trailer. Not a lot of guys use them, but thats their loss.- What Are Some Of Your Best All Around Bait's You Use For Bass?
Jigs, t-rigged craws, squarebills, weightless senko/fluke, traps, and frogs.- Go Pro Moutning
The STX is a sweet reel. I got the Lews on a killer deal last black friday, otherwise i've been a die hard Abu guy since day 1. Good luck on the videos bud!- Go Pro Moutning
Thanks man! It was a carrot stix gold with a Lews super duty reel. If your looking for a new rod look at something else.. I've broke 3 carrot stix and would never buy another after this one snaps. The super duty is an awesome reel though.- Anyone Had The Vmc Sureset Hooks Bend Out?
I've thrown xraps with the suresets for years and never had any issues with them bending/straightening out. I always thought they were great hooks. Hopefully someone who throws them more than me will chime in and give some insight bud.- Go Pro Moutning
I really like the suction cup mount and use it on my windshield most of the time. I've had it on various parts of my boat were the fiberglass is wide enough as well. An adhesive mount on the boat motor works well too. I would really like to rig up a pole to get a higher view shot as tnriverluver mentioned but havent though of a stable and convienent/portable way to accomplish this when I'm fishing solo.- November Bronze ~ Video Added
Awesome fish man!- With Cabin Fever Approaching..
Chase around deer and pheasants until the end of the year. Pull out the AR-15 and mow down some yotes this winter. Clean and organize my gear and then reorganize a few more times. Eventually I'll get desperate and go ice fish for a day or two just to feel something tug on a line. Work as much OT as possible so when I'm on my 4th TW order for the winter I don't feel to bad about it...- Do You Remember Your First Jig Fish???
I was 15 and caught it on a 1/2oz Stanley jig. Bought it at a local shop when my buddies and I did our yearly camping/fishing trip to my parents lake lot. They looked at me like I was nuts for buying this skirted thing. Last day of the trip we had a big fish tournament and the winner won some reading material that no one pays attention to read, if you get my drift. Last hour of the day I pulled out the jig and casted it to a 10ft cabbage bed on my underpowered spinning rod with 10lb mono. Felt solid weight, set the hook, and couldn't tell if I was stuck in the weeds or had a fish. Turned out to be a 20" largie that won me big fish and a magazine full of good pictures. Life was good.- Jig Colors Why Do We Limit Ourselves?
Jig fishing is like anything, you can make it as simple or complex as you'd like. Sure you can go out most days with a 1/2oz black and blue or green pumpkin jig and catch fish but there are plenty of days were adjusting things like color, fall rate, trailer type, etc can make a decent day into a great day. You don't need a lot of colors to be successful, but having the right colors for your area is what's important. Sometimes it's nice to experiment with new colors here and there, you just may stumble upon a hidden gem that no one knows about. I have a color from Northstars line up thats "different" but during early spring and fall it flat out produces for me. It's one of those feast or famine colors, but it tends to get me one of my largiest fish each year.- Jig Rod
