  1. You can still get the last model (the only one I've used) on an auction site for $235
  2. They do things like this all the time. Release a series and then release different models based off the same series. Just like they did with the 70 Curado K.
  3. Except made for saltwater. So a Curado made for saltwater. Makes sense if you don't think too hard about it.
  4. I might be wrong, but I think the Tranx line is made for saltwater use. Looks like a great reel to me.
  5. I just finished watching it. I don't know if any of you have watched this yet, but if you like history, it is an amazing show. It is a three part series and it is pretty long, but there are no boring parts. I learned so many things that I didn't know before I watched. The History channel always does a good job, but this one they knocked out of the park.
  6. Every reel I own sports those knobs. I get it!!!!
  7. 7'2" MH Expride would be my choice
  8. Well, he listed it in his OP, so I assumed it was an option.
  9. Squeeze harder and point your thumb up.
  10. I don't really have any, but when I was tournament fishing my buddy always drive and I would drink a few beers during the day. He would always say "We won't catch one till you open a beer". I would always say, "no, it's too early". Then about noon I would give in and have a couple. The only time I went against my rule was on Texoma one time when he convinced me to open one when we got to our first spot about 6 am and he told me to get one. It was so hot by 10 and I had already had a few so I took my shirt off and just fished away, when he noticed he was embarrassed to say the least. That's was the last time he ever requested that. Even to this day though, if he drives, he always tries to get me to crack one open. BTW, I don't know why, but his theory has held true and he still swears by it.
  11. You are either catching little fish and don't have an option or you are handling them wrong. Never put the thumb print part of your finger on the bottom lip, stick it further down into the mouth past the knuckle and bear down. You should not be letting a 2lb bass shake in your hand. If you squeeze hard enough it won't be able to move. Guys on MLF/BPT are catching a TON of fish and I have never seen a thumb guard. Didn't even know it was a thing actually. EDIT - You can also grab them around the back and remove the hook. But you might get finned and bleed that way as well.
  12. I would choose the Expride over the Zodias all day, everyday. I have owned a bunch of both of them. In fact, for the price difference, I would choose the Expride over the Poison Adrena as I don't feel like the PA is that much better.
  13. 16 degrees here now with about an inch of ice on the ground and snow falling. The good thing about though, it fell as sleet and not freezing rain so the trees and power lines are good. Supposed to get another round later, hoping for the same.
  14. For jigs in or around grass or light cover I use 40lb Sufix 832. Jigs on a MH around wood get thrown on 15 lb Sniper and jigs on a H around wood get thrown on 20 lb Shooter.
  15. It was 71 degrees on Monday, we are supposed to get at least a half inch of ice (freezing rain) starting Wednesday morning with a high of 23. That's not good for us. That causes power outages and makes roads almost impossible to navigate. I just hope they are wrong. We have already went virtual for Wed and Thur. Don't even get me started on how much harder those days are on teachers.
  16. What are you throwing on the first one? 3/16 oz, 1/4 oz etc? What do you plan to throw on the second? What types of cover do you plan to fish? So many variables, the question is near impossible to answer.
  17. I'd be surprised if any are available in March.
  18. I have the 68. The swimbait is the biggest thing I have caught on it. I don't know where and how to fish a swimbait but I have wasted a bunch of money on them.
  19. Are we changing BFS to shallow edition now?
  20. This guy would have knocked me into next week. He was about 6'5 300 lbs. I would have been no match for him. Lol
  21. I remember going out in Feb last year, water temp was 40 degrees and I launched the boat. Wind was blowing out of the south bad. I pulled up on the bank and hit the power pole button as I got out of the boat to park the truck. I suppose my weight caused the nose to dip and the poles to lose contact. By the time I got parked the boat was floating away. I watch for a minute or two and realize I had no other option. Strip down and swim the 50 yards or so to get the boat. So, it could be worse.
  22. Had an interesting one tonight. We are playing in a 5th/6th grade league. The team we played tonight won the 3rd/4th grade league last year so they decided to play up in the 5th/6th grade league this year. Well my oldest daughter rolled her ankle on Saturday so she was out tonight which really hurts us because she is by far my best player. I only had 5 girls play so I told them to watch the fouls. We got out to an early lead and their coach was livid. Screaming and hollering at his girls, pulling them out of the game, etc. Their fans were yelling at the officials. I assume they aren't used to losing. We were up 20-2 at halftime and once again I tell my girls no layups in the second half. Low and behold, he comes out in the second half in a full court press. I still told them no layups and this backfired on me as we turned the ball over trying to slow it down against the press. It was 24-10 when I called timeout and told them if they could beat the press and have a layup they could take it. We ended up winning 48-12 and he refused to shake my hand or say a word to me after the game. BTW, he pressed the entire 2nd half.
  23. Yes, I don't want to post any links to sites but you can Google it and find them.
  24. Wow! What a heartbreaker for Dylan Hays.
