I Need Bow Basics!!
Back the limb bolts out 1 turn at a time and draw every time until it becomes more comfortable. Just bend the arrows checking for unusual sounds like cracks or pops

New To Bow Hunting
Good base layers are far more important than what the deer see. Break up your outline, keep movement down and play the wind and just about any camo will do. However, when temps drop, you want to be comfortable more than anything and that is when your base layers come in to play.

I Need Bow Basics!!
First on draw weight. Sit in a chair with both feet flat on the ground and your back not against the chair. Hold the bow out in front of you and make a drawing motion. When you A. Either lean back, or B. Your feet leave the ground, then it is too much weight. Drawing a bow isn't about how strong you are, it's about proper technique. As for the arrow deal. First, make sure you have a properly spined arrow. Better to be too stiff as opposed to not stiff enough. And always flex the arrows before you shoot them. I flex them when I pull them and flex them before I load one.

A level to see if your arrow is perfectly horizontal. You really need a vise to level your bow and then you put a level on your arrow. If your bow has two berger holes you should be able to eyeball it and see how close it is. I was just wondering. If a shop set it up, then this is something they probably did. Edit, I don't know what bow you are using, so it may not be perfectly level. If it is single cam, you may need to be a little nock high. However, if you are consistent with where you are now, I wouldn't worry about it.

Good deal Clayton. Sorry about the thread going a little south. I just don't appreciate people trying to act like I don't know what I'm talking about. Good luck this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit, have you put a level on your arrow, or is it right through the berger holes

Okay man, well we will just have to agree to disagree then because you obviously have your mind made up. There is a video in this thread where a guy shows exactly what I am saying. At the end of the video he shoots 2 arrows and says something along the lines of being able to shoot BH's and FP's to have the same POI, so I assume he shot both. I also posted a link to a thread on AT where a guy posted pics of him shooting and told what he did to his arrow rest before each shot. Once again, he ended up having the same POI with both. Now, Clayton has got real close to having the same POI doing the same thing. There is always more than one way to skin a cat. If you can't admit that by watching the video, reading the thread on AT and reading what Clayton has wrote then I don't know what to tell you. I realize you may be a bow wizard and I never once doubted anything you said. But to come here and tell me that my suggestion is wrong, then I have a hard time with that. Please tell me you did watch the video and read the thread on AT.

Good deal. You are getting close. I am sure another member is going to call BS on your FP still having the same POI.

Okay, I will let you come to your own conclusion as to what needs to be done. Bottom line, his bow isn't properly tuned or his arrows aren't spined properly. BTW, I have worked on many bows in my day, I said "I would take it to someone........" meaning that was my advice to him. I would work on it myself, but he acted like he didn't really know a whole lot about it, so that was my advice to him.

Post #14 you said BH tuning will change things up and your FP's will not fly the same as your BH's and you will need to re-tune. If you tune your bow correctly the first time to shoot BH's and FP's to have the same impact, then there is no re-tuning. I assume your bow is in tune if they both have the same POI, but obviously his is not which is why I have stated the things I have.

Here is another thread that shows each shot with a BH and a FP and how the arrow rest was moved. I PROMISE you can get BH's and FP's to have the same POI http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=539460

Ok Bow Gurus
It explains it in the video above that both BH's and FP's are hitting the same spot. A small amount of rest movement will have an effect on BH's but won't affect FP's much (if any) at all.

Here is a thread with a lot of helpful info. Even a couple links to other threads http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1243843

BH tuning means getting your FP's and BH's to hit the same POI. There is no having to re-tune once you have both hitting the same POI. Could be as simple as moving the rest this way and the sights that way, or yoke tuning (if the bow has yokes), but it is possible to get both points to hit the same spot.

Parenting Help/insight
Well, I am not the best when it comes to sleeping arrangements, so take this with a grain of salt. When my wife and I split, my Son was 3 years old. He slept in the bed with me on the nights that he got to stay with me. Now that his Mom is remarried, he sleeps in his own bed at her house, and he has been for 4 years. However, he has slept with me every night that he has stayed with me since our split. He just turned 8 and still sleeps with me when he stays here. I NEVER have a female spend the night with me when I have my Son, so that isn't an issue. I know there are "experts" out there that will say he needs to be in his own bed by now, but I suppose I don't care what most people think. The MOST important thing in my life is my Son. If he is more comfortable in my bed, then he can stay there. I don't imagine it won't be much longer till he will be too cool to sleep with Dad and he will naturally move to his own bed. I have one Son and he is my EVERYTHING. If he wants to sleep in my bed, then he is more than welcome, I don't care what "Dr. Know-it-all" says.

There are a number of options and things that could be done here. Bow could be out of tune Arrows could be under spined Form issues could cause erratic arrow flight Needs to be BH tuned I would take it to someone who can look it over

Riley Cooper / Philly - What Would You Do?
If black people don't want the N word used, then the are the ones who need to quit saying it. I heard Michael Wilbon talking about the difference saying that black people end it with an "a" and white people end it with "er" and that makes all the difference in the world. Don't give me that BS! If I call my GF a *itch, then you can call her one too. Don't throw out the race card only when it fits your "agenda" BTW, what if he had said "I'm gonna jump that fence and whoop every fat person in here" Then what, all fat people have a right to get all pissy about it? I'm so sick of the PC crap that I feel like the white man is the only person who is NEVER discriminated against. There is not one thing in this world you could say to me that would hurt my little feelings.

Big Day Today
Congrats! My Son turns 8 tomorrow and although I have only spent every other week with him for the last 5 years, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I would give my life for him. I can only wish that I could spend every day with him and share those special moments that only happen every so often. However, I am thankful that I do get to spend the time that I do with him. He means the world to me and it seems like just yesterday I was changing his diapers and now we are about to celebrate his 8th birthday. Enjoy the time you have, don't ever miss a chance to hold him, kiss him and play toys with him, because someday he will be too old for that. If I never amount to anything in my life, I want my Son to grow up and say he had the best Dad he could have ever asked for.

Arrow Shafts
Okay, I don't want to split hairs here, or sound like a know-it-all. But when talking about a the strength of an arrow, the proper term is "spine." A "spline" is something used on a gear. Like I said, not trying to be a smart alec, just throwing that out there.

SO, do you do a lot of 55gal drum hunting? J/K, I actually have some on order. Very interesting head. I plan on using one on an early season doe to see how impressed I am. Kind of leery on the small 7/8 diameter, but I think the coring aspect may make up for that.
