  1. I have noticed he likes to talk down to his "audience" in a few videos of his I have watched. He was showing how to tie a knot in a video and made fun of people who pull too tight on the knot and who cut the tag ends short. He wasn't teaching about why or why not that should be done, but mocking people who do it. I just think it is part of his shtick.
  2. Finally got back out today after the re-carpet break. What a difference a week makes in water temps. The last day I fished this lake was on 4-24 and the water was 64-67, today it was 74 when I got there at 7 am and 78 when I left at 3:00. Only found the small ones today with this 3-03 being the biggest.
  3. That's a bold username to not go with the Shimano.
  4. You have witnessed this catching of spawning bass with nets?
  5. Just one 7 MH and you should be good to go. That, or use the search function a look for results for the types of rods used for each specific type of fishing you are interested in.
  6. Dr Pepper for breakfast, water, dr pepper and a protein bar (Snickers or Payday) for lunch, water and beef jerky in the afternoon, dr pepper for the ride home.
  7. Fedex shows that mine will be here Monday, can't wait.
  8. Here are some of the result pics. Overall I am pretty pleased. A few things I learned that I would have done differently but it turned out pretty good. A lot better than what I had.
  9. A quick pic before I head to town to pick up some things for the final touches. After all is said and done for what I saved by doing it myself I think it turned out pretty good. However, I will pay to have it done if I ever need to do it again.
  10. It's lunch time. I have been at it all morning trying to clean all the corners up and go back and make sure everything is glued down good. Got all the hinges attached to the lids first thing this morning so I could get them all in place and see what I needed to work on. I will start attaching the lids to the deck here in a little while and start getting the latches put back on. Trim will be here tomorrow and I will get that put on and hopefully be a little bit happier with how it looks. No pics for now, I will add some later. (maybe) lol
  11. He's talking about "adding" a console to a boat. Not removing one. I would think that adding a console that would look even remotely close to anything from the factory would be a major fabrication process. On the other hand, removing one wouldn't be that difficult to make it look like it may have come that way from the factory. But again, he is asking about adding one and that is why I said I think it would be very difficult to make it look good.
  12. Ok, it's been a LOOOONG day! I will start this post by saying that this is not a DIY job that I would EVER attempt again. LOL! I am not real happy with the results, but it is what it is. I took some pics right before I came in earlier. My wife came home from work and could tell that I was pretty upset with how things had gone today. She tried her best to cheer me up and say that we could probably do some work to the corners to get them looking like I want them to. There are a couple that have too much carpet and are bulky and some that don't seem like they don't have enough carpet. Some that the glue has bled through and looks matted and yet others that actually look good. Some places I will have to try to use a syringe and contact cement to try to get glued back down good. I take back what I said about this not being as bad as I thought, it is probably worse. My wife thinks it looks okay and says I just don't like it because I want it to be perfect. I think I will be better when I get the trim in and get in put down. I have laid tile and hard wood but never carpet, maybe I should have tried my hand at a square room first. Oh well, it will make it through the summer and I can go from there. * I will admit that I didn't take as much time as I should have because I wanted to get back on the water by tomorrow, so that is my fault for sure.
  13. It really all depends on year and model, but as has been mentioned it would really only look right if it were made to be removable from the factory. I don't think you could make one look good without some major fabrication.
  14. Lunch time, things are progressing nice, I suppose. LOL I took the clamps off the lids and there are a couple spots under the lip that I will need to put a little bit of contact cement on to get stuck real good. Need to do some knife work on the corners (harder than I thought) to try to make them look a little bit better. I got the bench area removed, finally, and got the carpet on it and started on the bottom of the boat. I got it all glued down and took a break before I go start cutting it in. Overall, It hasn't been as bad as I thought it might be. It won't be a professional job by no means, but I actually enjoy trying to do things on my own.
  15. Yep, because we all know that they have a 110 in their boxes no matter who their sponsor is. LOL
  16. She had a tough night. You know, barking at killer squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, deer and whatever other wild critters might be trying to attack us while we sleep. LOL
  17. You should be fine then. It won't be frozen, but I assume you just need it cold enough that it doesn't spoil.
  18. Lids are almost done, took a quick break to eat a sandwich. I say almost done, I am doing them in my shed since there are storms in the area and the lighting in there isn't great so I will have to clean the corners up in the morning or tomorrow sometime. I went with the 3M Super 77 spray for the lids and I think they are going to work out. I will get some pics in the morning when I get some better light and get the clamps off.
  19. What is the weather going to be like where you are going? A YETI isn't much better than a regular igloo if it sets out in the sun in 80 degree weather. I have 3 YETI coolers so I have drank the juice. You need to pre-cool it first. I would do this with dry ice and then either put a membrane of some sort on the dry ice and start with your layering method or toss the dry ice and start with ice on the bottom and then start your layering. Just remember, the more you open it and the longer you leave it open it is just going to get warmer. I am not one who packs meat out of a hunting area so I can't vouch for their ability to keep meat cold for days on end. But they won't keep a Keystone Light cold for days if you don't add some ice to it.
  20. Just carpet.....I know, I know, I should have done it and I certainly will regret it later. LOL!
  21. You can spend more on a set of glass than a couple Stellas and Conquests will run you.
  22. I know guys with $3,000 rifles that just punch paper and shoot a deer or 2 a year. I say, spend it how you want to.
  23. Use fluorocarbon it's invisible under water, no wait, use red line, fish can't see red, no wait, they love baits with red hooks. Who really knows?
  24. Thanks @lo n slo It's currently break time. My "hired hand" didn't make it today because he had a radiator hose bust on he truck. It's amazing how someone can need work so bad and the all the sudden something unfortunate happens. Anyway, I ended up waiting on him till about 10:00 and decided I would just give it a go. Started with the lids and removing the carpet from them. I was able to tear most of it off pretty well and then I used a razor blade to scrape it clean. I used lacquer thinner as a cleaning agent. The lids went well and then I moved to the interior. The seat/cockpit area was a lil bit tougher than I would have liked but wasn't terrible. I still have some work to do in that area. The fron deck came off pretty easy and cleaned up good. I am currently taking a quick BR break and going to go back out and start putting carpet on the lids. Here are a few pics of the progress.
