  1. So, not Zoom's fault? Well, that's settled. Time to change the title.
  2. Weird, I have ordered over 40 bags this spring and not a single one has had an issue. When you say deformed, do you mean like the legs or something aren't right or maybe it was that they were stored in a way that caused them to bend in an unusual way and stay that way?
  3. You fishing those 4" senkos weightless, on a 1/16 oz Ned, on a 1/4 oz shakey head, 3/32 oz dropshot? That is very important to the power of rod to be used in my opinion. Edit* I would also consider the rods ratings when making my decision. The 3DS is 1/4 oz but a treble hook bait so I wouldn't worry as much about the rods power and I would think a M should cast it well enough (depending on the rods rating)
  4. You haven't placed an order recently then. That $5 for 2 day is now $16.
  5. I mean, it's not an Evinrude or anything.
  6. What I use has nothing to do with the fish seeing the line but more about what I am fishing around. In a couple of the lakes I fish where the bottom is mostly grass or soft bottom it is straight braid. A couple of the lakes I fish is sandy and rocky and I will use a leader for abrasion and ease of breaking off if I get caught up in the rocks.
  7. I had one on a Tranx that almost made me throw it across the living room. I sent it back because I swear the side plate was messed up. I have had a couple that were a bit difficult, but nothing like that one was.
  8. I use 20lb 832 on M spinning and 15lb 832 on ML spinning.
  9. He's asking about a DC version. OP, I wouldn't think there is one coming anytime soon.
  10. Call it 8 if you want, you didn't have a scale so it really doesn't matter what it weighed or what you say it weighed. I don't mean to sound rude, but that is kind of like a guy shooting free throws and saying he set his new PB for shots made out of 100 but he didn't count them, or a guy beating his PB round of golf but he didn't keep score. Now that you have bought a set of scales you will know what it weighed and you will know what your PB is and when you beat it.
  11. There is a certain auction place where there are plenty available. Just a tiny bit of palmability (is that a word) in my opinion, but if you are using it for moving baits then I don't think it will make a difference. See my post above.
  12. What good is that going to do? Is he going to spool it up and tie on a jig and go pitch it in the tub at BPS?
  13. The Curado DC is a great choice for a cranking reel, but depending on what you plan to pay for one it would be worth considering a Bantam MGL. The Bantam is a much better reel IMO. I haven't used any of the new Tatula reels so I cannot be of any help in that area.
  14. Well, that settles all debates from this point forward. Someone who has never had a problem with an Abu decides on a whim to try different reels and each and every one of them had problems. One of them the gears even blew up, that is a BAD reel right there. Those worthless Daiwa's and their thumb bars that fall off and those Shimano's that get "geary" and "grindy" after a few casts. Sounds more like someone who has read a lot on the internet and needed to justify his purchase of Abu's a St Croix's. BTW, if the Mojo Bass is a great rod to you, you haven't handled very many good rods. An opinion is one thing, but to just bad mouth simply to do so is a bit out of touch with reality. Thank you for your service, but your post is a bit of a stretch to say the least. I bet you have never owned a Curado rod if you say your rods have always been Curados, they have only been out a little over a year or so. Those are literally two of the biggest junk reels on the market.
  15. I have that particular rod. I use it for 3/16 oz Texas Rigs and 3/16 oz Ned Heads and swinging jig heads and it works great!
  16. Just boil it when you boil your mono.
  17. Hate to hear it, maybe fishing might do you some good.
  18. Have you caught anything since the 70's? I NEVER see you post any pics of your recent catches. All you do is talk down to people like you are God's gift to fishing. It's been old for a long time and getting worse. I guess I should just be like most the guys that have been here a while and put you on my ignore list, probably make my time here more enjoyable (and longer).
  19. Oh, get the Met, you will love it! Wait, I bought one, used it 2 days and now have 2 more on the way. Maybe you shouldn't do it.
  20. I own both and by the end of next week the count should be 6 Bantam MGL's and 3 Met MGL B's. I will use the Bantams for moving baits: deep cranks, med cranks, squarebills, spinnerbaits, lipless, vibrating jigs, etc. The Mets will run bottom contact duty and will have to share some of the work till I can buy a few more. I used them both side by side last week and I feel they are about as close as they can be as far as feel on the retrieve. Both are about as smooth as you could ask for. I like to put my index finger right under my line when fishing a texas rig, jig, etc. and they way the nose is built on the Met just feels like it fits perfect. Both great reels and if money isn't an option the Met is the way to go. If one were trying to decide and the extra money was an issue then I would not hesitate to recommend the Bantam instead. Shimano got it right with these two reels IMFO. (In my fanboy opinion)
  21. Plenty to read here: https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/search/?&q=leader length&search_and_or=and&sortby=relevancy
  22. And you can be a part of Gary's ultra secret super duper facebook group where he will really hook you up with good deals where he undercuts his retailers and then graciously allows them to sell the rods for the same price. Also, you can be a one of a kind ultra important rod test subject on a limited edition run of rods where your feedback will determine if he even brings the rods to production (aside from the ones already produced). I would go with the Dobyn's for those reasons. I mean, does Shimano offer those perks?
