  1. That pic shows balls of baitfish (shad?) As you discovered, find the bait and predators will be near
  2. Yes I think the HB Helix series would be good for you.
  3. Garmin Di is known to be pretty disappointing. Si is decent. HB shallow si is very good. My Raymarine has a shallow mode Si that is very good but much more expensive then what you are looking at.
  4. I have had every brand made. None will show fish in side imaging reliably. Stop telling people that they will and get their hopes up. Yes it is possible but not likely. When I first got a HB 898 I thought awesome, now I can see fish under docks. After thousands of hours of use I am yet to see this.
  5. You will not see many fish on Si in shallow water. It's more designed to show structure
  6. I absolutely love my two Raymarines. Will Di work thru hull? Dragonfly is 4 years old and no probs. screenshot
  7. I dont think any depth finder will help much in that shallow water.
  8. Orange belly = sunfish
  9. There was a place that had the Helix9 si for about $750. They ran out tho.
  10. Mike I was sayin its a good idea
  11. Pointer 100sp (which is 4")
  12. Thanks for the replies. Maybe I should rethink and go the humorous route.
  13. Need some simple questions for a quiz at our fishing club dinner. Lots of newbs so keep them easy. Here's my start....thanks Which of these fishing lines sinks? a) Monofilament Braid c) Floorocarbon Where on a worm is the hook placed on a “Wacky Rig? a) Front Middle c) Back The length of the bill on a Crankbait mostly affects what? a) Amount of wobble Amount of vibration c) Dive depth Which Sunfish is known for the red mark on the gill flap? a) Shell cracker Bluegill c) Pumpkinseed What part of a Bass feels vibration? a) Inner ear Nose filaments c) Lateral line A Largemouth and smallmouth bass are in what family? a) Bass Perch c) Sunfish
  14. I prefer a 6'6"-7' med fast spinning rod and straight 20# braid. I skip more than cast. 5" wacky rigged weightless stick (I make my own) with a Mustad weedless hook. No reason to hold the line anymore with modern graphite rods and sensitive line. That was old school when rods were fiberglass and mono line.
  15. Lower end units like that often show false objects and readings
  16. Playin with some two colors. PITA to make. Green pumpkin is hand poured and the lower color is injected.
  17. Use Phptobucket and then put the image code here
  18. Very nice. I like the Alabama Craw best too
  19. Raymarine A98. I love it
  20. Just a few crappie
  21. Was checking out my lake in Google Earth and saw my White Toyota and trailer in my usual parking spot at the Marina. Then found my boat on the lake in Jackson cove. What are the odds of that LOL
  22. Private Lake community. 350 acres. Bass size declining. $500k 5 year plan plan started 2015. Removed 1100 bass under 15" so far and need to remove more (relocated, none destroyed). Added 7500 large bluegill. Added alot of artificial structure. All volunteer work. We will see
  23. No but I live on Lake Monticello Virginia
  24. 70# Maxxum variable speed on a 15' aluminum bass style boat. Goes 3.2 mph. Three years old and zero issues.
