  1. My choice https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-water/fishfindergpscombos/echomap-73sv/prod169422.html
  2. I agree 4 or 5" screen is OK unless you have sidescan
  3. Most Si units prefer a ll faster speed of like 2-4 mph when using side scan
  4. Consider the Garmin 93sv with a 9" screen and great price point. Is you lake even mapped or were you going to map it yourself?
  5. I think the Helix 5 would be great on a yak. Thenadd a Helix 7 when you get the bigger boat
  6. Will the Helix Si transducer fit on a trolling motor?
  7. Ah OK. That dinosaur has seen better days. Even a new cheap unit with modern technology would be better.
  8. Current Software Version 3.7.0 This link says 3.7 http://support.lowrance.com/system/selfservice.controller?CONFIGURATION=1001&PARTITION_ID=1&secureFlag=false&TIMEZONE_OFFSET=&CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=3297
  9. On my link you need to add it to cart to get the sale price of $200
  10. On sale for $200 instead of $250 . http://www.thegpsstore.com/Raymarine-Dragonfly-4DVS-CHIRP-Sonar-with-DownVision-P4373.aspx Here are images from my Dragonfly.
  11. Raymarine Dragonfly 4dvs or 4pro if you want gps Garmin Echomap 43dv
  12. Lovin this unit. I have tried every other brand and none compare. I have such confidence that what it is showing is really there.
  13. 1.5 squarebill crank
  14. Here is a 1/4 oz I made up. I have to say the black/blue out fished it..
  15. Mounting the transducer incorrectly has nothing to do with interference I would hope HB has the interference probs fixed by now. None of the other brands have it.
  16. Not difficult and just takes a lil time. Mainly a matter of routing wires, drilling holes, and simple electrical connections. I would say similar to installing a car stereo.
  17. I think FLIR is available, but I believe is for big saltwater ships for above water use. Was about $1300. Add $500 for side imaging added. Small aluminum bass boat.
  18. Love my new unit. 2d chirp and downvision chirp. Super clean imaging. Those shad are only 1" long Bass and White Perch eating away
  19. Consider the Raymarine Dragonfly series. Much better chirp down imaging and great chirp 2d
  20. Better off bringing an extra charged battery.
  21. Consider Raymarine Dragonfly units if you dont need side imaging
  22. Raymarine Dragonfly. 4dvs ($250) or 5dvs ($300) Chirp sonar and down vision. No GPS Pro model adds GPS/maps. Side scan not available
