I like browns and pumpkin. I like gold or copper flake in anything.

I was watching Major League Fishing and noticed a bunch of the pros flipping Beaver type baits to the docks. To ME these type baits dont have the flapping claw action and dont look as enticing on the fall as an action claw bait like a Rage etc. Are there times when fish prefer one over the other? I know in cold water less action is prefered.

Anyone notice that they use those crappy Berkley Grip scales? Those are notorious for being inaccurate and inconsistant. Wouldnt they be better off using a Boga, or do they only go to 1/4 pound increments?

Many Senko knockoffs are pretty good and alot cheaper

Easy to make your own and they have a center aligning pin too. I have this wire with the end pre-bent but plain wire is just as easy. I wrap the wire by hand around the WD-40 straw/tube. You MIGHT be able to use some sort of powder or pearl powder from a craft store like michaels. I heard crayons work but cant confirm this

I have very bad eyesight so am not a line watcher. I like to feel contact with the bait. I therefore prefer to fish it wacky style and can feel the lightest tick of a bite on a slightly tight line. This is sometimes all you feel. I seem to fish the wacky slower and can make it twith and not move to much. For me a Texas rig has too little resistance. I therefore try to feel the bait alot and move it too far and too fast. If you feel a tick or just weight, wait a few seconds and then set the hook. Usually a bass wont let go of these. If you feel numerous tap tap taps, its usually a sunny and they will let go. Main tip is fish them slow and dont overwork the bait. Couple twitches and let it sink slow. Couple more light twitch and let it sink. They also work great skipped under docks and overhanging trees on shore. I personaly only fish them weightless.

I like these heads for a swim jig. With the weight further back they swim flatter instead of nose diving. I paint them with nail polish from the dollar store. The nail polish sticks great to the raw lead and does not chip easily.

Looks like some places have these available and are shipping. As I suspected it looks like they may be about 6" including the bill unless this guy has huge hands

I like to fish fluke baits weightless and in shallower water. Around weeds, lilys, bruch, skipping docks etc.Couple twitches and a pause to let the bait slowly sink I like a 4/0 twistlock hook Also works great worked faster near the top for active bass or bass chasing shad. Smaller flukes work great on a drop shot or Carolina rig. Some people use a weight or weighted swimbait hook but I feel there are better baits for that. If I want a little faster sink, I will have them made with a Senko type salted formula.

Here is the actual lure I have. I think the color is calledLittle Muskie on Chartreuse. The craftsmanship and paint is amazing. Too pretty to throw I think. Wonder if it is worth anything

Why is it common to catch bass in deeper water in the winter?

I will have to check out the Extended Cast. Does it tell more about what they are throwing? Saw Denny do a flipping/pitching demo years ago. It was pretty amazing.

Im talking winter time after the turnover. Why else would the bass be deep unless its warmer?

Maybe kind of gimmicky but I have been having good results with the stand out style hooks. and this little bait which has a floating tail

So if the surface temp is about 44* in my lake, how much warmer is it (if any) at 30' where I am catching bass this winter?

Here is another lure I found in the old Musky box. About 4 1/2" long and loud as heck. Not sure what it weighs. Looks like a Bill Lewis design? Not sure what it was/is called.

I have one of these in my old Musky box. I cant find anywhere how deep it goes. 6" with a decent size bill. Any clue?

I take a thin red sharpie and draw a red line behind rhe molded gill line on the Pointer.
