Finesse Baits
not just any old in-line spinner though.... specifically that black with yellow dots and gold blade is my all time best producing bait on the rivers nearest me. followed by the same bait, but the yellow one with red spots and silver blade.

Metanium 16 MGL or Metanium 15 DC
i have never used the mgl, but do have the dc. i think the dc is awesome, but if you think you'll be bombing then out of the park with it, you may be in for a disappointment. it handles casts so well and is a joy to fish, but it's definitely not my furthest casting reel i own at all.

Small framed baitcasters
i've never tried the 70 size, but love the 50 size shimanos i have (aldebaran 51hg, aldebaran mg7, core 51mg7, curado 51e) and also really like the daiwa alphas sv 105 for a nice small reel as well.

ABA Weekend Draw Series
thanks Rich, all VERY helpful information!!

ABA Weekend Draw Series
really appreciate the info Rich!! i think i'm going to have to give it a try! the lake is tough as is, pretty brutal lake to fish to be honest. pretty much only spotted bass there, not hardly any largemouth left. not to mention it's a crazy time right now with temps going from 30's to 70's to 30's and nothing being stable. i'm not so much fishing to win or for the catching or any of that, but mostly to see if the tournament fishing is something i'd like to get into or if i'd rather just keep it recreational. appreciate all the feedback though and will use that as an outline for the gameplan! one really basic beginner question for you or anyone for that matter: when the boater is making a move and running to another spot, where does the non-boater put the rods/reels/bag while making the run?

ABA Weekend Draw Series
Has anyone ever competed in one of the Ram Series ABA Draw tournaments? I've never fished in a tournament before, but this seems like a really easy way to do so. There is one next saturday 2/4 on the lake closest to my house (Allatoona). Just curious if anyone here has fished one of these events, especially as a non-boater, and if so what the experience was like. Thanks in advance for any info!

Ask A Pro A Question
do you happen to know which pros you'll be interviewing? i'd ask a different question most likely depending on who you were going to ask.

Sitting and waiting. NOT!
100% on point!! fishing for bluegill with crickets under slip bobbers is about as much action-packed fun as i've ever had fishing! a couple little bobs up and down and then watching the bobber waking away is just pure enjoyment for me!
