Pike Tore Up My Spinner
Nice snake northern and I agree with Bluebasser on this one. I lost many a $5-8 spinner to pike while fishing in Wisconsin waters. Sometimes, bending that wire straight as possible and fixing the skirt can produce an interesting wobble in the spinner that for some reason bass tend to love (odd, but positive, side effect of the toothy slime snakes). I have an inline spinner from a pike that got hit hard by a 36" long pike (~8 lbs) and permentaly kinked. Now it runs a little off-kilter but hulls in bass and pike better than anything in my tackle box.

What Else Do You Target?
I am actually coming more into fishing for other species, specifically panfish (love fried crappie and bluegill). I have started taking my boy out with me and we target nothing but panfish. It's easiest for him to learn some things on and he has an absolute blast doing it. Went out last Sunday and caught 30 bluegill between the two of us at a local pond (nothing to keep, but fun hauling 'em in one after another).

Harder Fighting Fish And Less Targeted.
Hey all, Just wondering what kind of fish fight harder than bass and can be found in the midwest. I am getting a little sick of fishing incredibly pressured fish and want to expand my horizons as well as fishing knowledge. When I was in Wisconsin I started targeting pike. Now I have moved to MO though and do not know what is down here. Thanks in advance.

This Doesn't Seem Right..
Had a similar scam via text message when trying to sell my paintball gun. "buyer" said they were ok with the price and asked where they could come pick it up. I said cash only, during the day in a walmart or grocery parking lot only in my neighborhood. Never got a response other than he said he would send a check. I use ebay now for everything and do not trust craiglist in the least.

Two Musky Night
Great looking fish. Haven't hooked into one of those yet and now I moved to MO where they are few and far between (nothing like Northwoods WI where I used to fish).

Pike On Yum Dinger?
Pike have ruined many a good bass bait for me. They are fun to catch when specifically targeting them, but tend to be more of a nuisance when fishing for bass. I use a steel leader of at least 8" when I target northerns. I have seen northerns the length of my arm eat crappie jigs right before they hit the water...if its a lure, they will eat it.

Craziest Things Caught On A Frog Or Other Lure
Caught a spotted nose gar on a rapala x-rap, and a goose on a chatter bait (lost the chatter bait on that one)!

What's Your Go To Lure/ Rig
My go to lure is a texas rig worm. I can cast it into any tight spot, I know the various presentations well and can detect even light bites. Basically, one's go to rig comes down to what you want to throw and master. I am a martial artist and we have a saying that I think can be adapted to fit here. The saying goes like this "don't fear the person who has practiced 1000 moves 1 time, fear the one who has practiced one move 1000 times" Basically, what you decide to perfect will become your go to attack.

St Peter's Mo Area Fishing
Hello All, Next week I am moving to St. Peter's, MO to start my new job. There is one small issue with is: I am completely unfamiliar with the fishing in this area and would love to know some good spots to go bank fishing nearby. From the looks of things, I might have to learn how to cast a fly rod with all the rivers and creeks in the area. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Justin

Hand Tied Jigs Photos
That one with the few spots of copper fleck looks like a killer. Those few strands really make it stand out. Great work. On a side note -- I might need to be adding some to my tackle box

Hair Spinner
Looks like a great little spinner to me. Love the color. I might swap out the blade for one size larger colorado just to give it a little more thump, but that's my personal preference. It always great to see experimentation pay off.

Joe Bonamassa
A little odd for sure, but a phenomenal guitarist. He is in my hometown next week and I am not able to get tickets, slightly disappointed with that.

Hey From Wi
Welcome to the forums. I hail from Rockford, IL (soon to be of St. Peters, MO) by way of Waukesha, WI. Glad to see you got the itch back.

Bait Casters From A Kayak?
Good tips. I have had the same question while looking at kayaks. I use mostly spinning gear but am starting to use bait casters more and more.

Combo For Northern Pike
Thanks for the tips BradH. I have landed about a 10 pounder on a MH American All Star Rod while fishing an inline spinner. Thought for sure the thing was going to snap my rod it fought so hard (bent the crap out of my favorite pike spinner).

Big Gar
Great fish. I have never caught a gar like that. Think I live 2 far north.

Earthworm Color
Personally, I like the one with a little bit of flake. Would work great in the lakes I fish
