  1. Corn, corn, corn
  2. Cabela's has them for $20 off right now
  3. Never really looked into Fenwick, but that is a nice rod for the money. My stepdad swears by Fenwick. I may have to look into the HMX. The 6'8" MH sounds intriguing.
  4. I'll take the JT Special when its available!
  5. Try a small grub. I have caught panfish with 'em while trying for bass. I was using a chartreuse and a purple.
  6. Me, too. Simple and works great.
  7. I have luck with Bandits, especially the fried squash color.
  8. I love the outdoors and suck at golf.
  9. Yep. Sunday I was at Willow Slough. Both places were good. May try to get out tomorrow for an hour or two if the rain holds off. You been out?
  10. Keep up the creativity, Senkosam. Fish don't care what brand it is. If they eat it, then by all means, use it! I, for one, and probably the only one, have never purchased any Rage Tail product and have no problem catching fish.
  11. I was out on Sunday and again today and the fishing is hot (finally)! I got some nice ones this morning tossing a Bandit squarebill crank along weedlines and bullrush. And finally some nice weather, high of 75-80.
  12. Which is why you don't have to spend hundreds to get a decent set-up. Sometimes people buy just for the name value, not actually the performance value. I can't fathom spending $300 for a combo that will catch the same fish as a $125 combo. I use lower end Shimano reels and can still catch fish just fine. I am not trying to impress the world with my pricey gear, nor am I impressed by other's gear. It's all about catching fish, isn't it?
  13. I get catfish slow rolling spinnerbaits a lot at a local pond. Not what I'm after, but they put up a nice fight!
  14. "#5 When a non-fisherman asks if you're catching anything, you shall always reply, "Nah, this lake sucks. Nuthin' in here 'cept carp." If you get skunked, refer to #5.
  15. 1/4 oz. works well for just general texas rig fishing
  16. More than my wife thinks....
  17. Get what you can afford and what is comfortable. Pick out a reel and put it on a rod that you like. Feel how balanced it is. You don't have to break the bank. The fish won't know how much you spent or what brand it might be.
  18. Hello from Dyer, Indiana!
  19. $800 seems like a bit too much for that. Try not to be too anxious and keep looking. You‘ll find one! But this one is not it.
