So On Another Board I Frequent
Yep I hear you... After this guy stated his fun statement..all the others chimed in and supported the guy. I guess it may have been American bashing day.

Shimano Rods Icast '14
Cumara was released last year wasn't it? Can't see an update already. As long as it's not full cork, I'm ok with it. I really don't care if it's cork or foam, as long as it is a split grip.

So On Another Board I Frequent
...So I'm an American living in Ontario and I frequent a local fishing forum. There was a discussion regarding out of season bass fishing and how some are doing it illegally. Yeah I agree etc, but then someone brought up how the Northern States basically have their openers early or have C&R Bass fishing year round and they have productive fishery. Then one guy starts saying that is of course the US's choice, but they are happy to catch their numerous 1-2 lb fish all they want. I for one am glad that we have to wait until end of June to target bass and it ends at the end of November. It protects the fishery and while the northern US states continue to ruin their fishery by targeting bedding fish. While we get catch our numerous 3+lb fish and up. So it got me thinking, is this reality or is this a myth? I tried searching, albeit not really in depth about the average catches, not much I could really find hard data wise. So I decided let me ask you guys up here in the Northeast. Are you guys killing your trophy sized bass by targeting bedding fish? are all you guys catching dinks? Frankly, what he said kind of irked me because it seemed like an elitist statement personally. I thought I understood no matter if the bass is guarding its fry or not...eventually the other smaller predators will get their fill and move on and not just eat'em all up. Just to let you know, may be I'm fishing in the wrong places, but I certainly can assure that my average isn't 3+ lb fish where I live.

Cheap Vs. Expensive Spinnerbaits.
I noticed when I get a cheap one it is less durable and sometimes the lure doesn't run true. Why I hesitate buying cheap, however I have found a decent cheap custom made ones though and they run usually 3 for 10 bucks. So far have not had a durability issue and it doesn't have issues of not running true so far. Maybe find some one local who builds quality ones for cheap?

Your Most Productive Lure Type?
I love me my fluke, but I also love me some dropshots. They are both tied on almost all the time.

Transducer - Kayak Suction Cup
So I was trying to figure out a way to set my transducer up on my WS Ride 135. I created a metal arm for it and it just hit me when I picked up the transducer it had a suction cup. So, I checked under my hull and sure enough it will stick to it. Has anyone tried this out? Or think of any adverse issues if I do it this way, other than I may hit something that may cause it to fall off?..(I'll have it secured on my kayak and probably put something on it so the wire will stay afloat.)

Hottest Rod On The Planet
Yeah you are probably right. I'm so scared of buying my first NRX because as soon as I bought my first GLX I had to get 3 more. That is why I have put it off to make the NRX jump .

Hottest Rod On The Planet
I've been meaning to get one..but I haven't decided yet if I want my next rod to be a NRX or HMG. I have other stuff on my wish list so depending on which I buy, I either shorten or just knock 1 thing off my list.

Best T Rig And Senko Or Worm Rod Under 100
Honestly the price range is very competitive, what i wold suggest is that you check all the rods in the range and check what is right for you. My 2cents for under 100: Fenwick HMG Fenwick ET Smallmouth - Can be found for 100 Abu Garcia Veritas - (Although I'd go M/F if you choose this brand and can be found regularly for around 80.) If you go used though you might find better: St. Croix Avid Shimano Crucial

Rod And Reel Combo For Father's Day
And I would choose the above choice. I'd at least get a BPS PQ Level reel the bare minimum.

Rod And Reel Combo For Father's Day
That is correct they combo discount them together.

Bass As Live Bait Illegal Or Not?
It is illegal to use any fish classified as game fish as far as I understand here in Ontario, Canada. There is a debate if we can use yellow perch as bait or not. Any fish caught and used as bait legally can't be used in another body of water.

Am I The Only Crazy One?

[#3] How Would You Fish It!?

Does A Snagged Bass Count?
Thanks for input, good to know. In the end i don't have an issue either, it happens. I did however felt bad the other day when I did it to a small pike. The spinnerbait hook foul hooked him in the eye, it was pretty tough to not try to damage its eye further.

Does A Snagged Bass Count?
What if like I have a happened a few times now, that when I was fishing my swim jig the bass comes out of nowhere near the shore and I "see them" swipe at it and I set the hook and foul hook'em. Is that considered sight fishing? lol

Bluegill Beds
This, unfortunately the waters I fish don't have blue gill, but they do have Crappie. I watched a video of a guy fishing some lake in Ohio with bedding blue gill and he caught a couple bass near the beds.
-
Buzzbait Hookset
I always wait for the fish to take it..meaning you know he's on it. I don't set the hook hard like say a jig for instance, I usually set the hook similar to a spinnerbait. With a sweeping hookset but modified similar to a jig (across my body diagonally), just don't do it to cross their eyes.

Need Help With A Lake Over Populated With Weeds
I'd use the following baits: Topwater - Frog (Hollow or Plastic) and buzzbaits..and weightless fluke (keeping it up on top of the weeds, so sorta like topwater) Swim Jigs and spinnerbaits (especially at the weed lines for spinnerbaits) Pitch jigs/trig into open pockets Weedless wacky hook with a senko type bait or trick worm if you like. I would fish them like the jigs, pitch them into pockets.

How Would You Fish It!?
Exactly what I would do.
