What are some good starter jigs to start out with? Brand? Type? Size?

How do you guys cut braided line? I use a clipper but it seems to damage the teeth and doesn't really work well .... Scissor doesn't really work well too ... The only way that I find work is burning it with a lighter ...

The Abu Garcia Black Max was my first choice for getting a starter baitcaster, but I ended up getting the Lew's Laser MG Speed spool because of the specs. The Black Max does look cool though and for the price of $50 you can't beat anyother reels at that price range IMO.

What kind of technique is used for braided line? As far as I know technique that's used for braided line are jigs and frog. Anything beside jigs and frog? Like using it with fluro or mono or just pure braid.

Came back and pick up the berkley lighting shock rod 7'0 for $44 ... now what's a good line for it?

At a MH berkley lighting shock what is it use for? I got Medium rod already so I was wondering what would a MH be used for.

Is it ok to transfer a spooled line to another reel? For example ... I mistakenly spooled a good line to a crappy reel and want to spool it to a better quality reel. Is it ok to do the transfer? Any bad side effect or defect to the line? Such as line twist ... ect ...

I noticed that when soft plastic are in its original packaging bag the bait is fairly oily and greasy with a certain scent or taste (I think). My question here is when storing soft plastic in plano box does it ruin the taste or scent to the soft plastic bait? I've tried putting them in zip lock bags but it's a hassel ... any suggestion?

Hmm I wanna flip and pitch with a baitcaster more of a soft plastic user willing to put up $40 to $100 for a decent rod for a first time baitcasting rod.

My friend gave me a Lew's Speed Spool Laser MG ... 8 bearing, gear ration 6:4:1 and I was wondering what would be a good bait casting rod for this reel? And what's it used for? Technique? I heard deep cranking but not too sure. Edit: What type of line should I spool it up with?

Depends, I believe it reopened about just 2 or 3 weeks ago so people will still be interested in going. There's limit but I'm not quite sure what's the limit. Ask the dude at the front if you do go.

Beware of the place though there's alot of people there ain't much spot to fish. And the pond is pretty shallow.

I have and have luck with mainly crappie with live minnow and a few bass. They only open on Saturday and Sunday best time to go is on a Saturday on a warm day.

Does the hook size effect hookup ratio? When can you tell if the hook on your bait is too big or too small for the bait?

Ball ranch on Friant road opened up again for Bass and Crappie ... but then there's alot of people since it reopened. A $6 fee at the door then you're good to go.

I used zoom horny toad hook got a couple for only $1 at my local sporting store.

That's what I did and it seem to fit fine just that I think the hook size is too small so the hook up ratio is going to be bad. Does hook size play in hook ratio?

I bought the size 1 red ewg being small I thought it would be good to rig it on a swimming fluke jr. Is this a good hook size? What do you guys recommend?

How to fish the zoom horny toad? Is it suppose to be floating like top water? Or does it sink? I bought a pack of horny toad in junebug char not sure how to use em.
