  1. so what you're saying is you were losing a lot of fish using gama's?
  2. i played golf yesterday for the first time in 4 years. the reason i haven't played is because i would rather fish for 5 hours than golf. i had myself down to a 10 hanidicap before i just gave it up. so yesterday i played inverrary, the west course from the whites (6200 yards). i would have normally played from the tips, but since i had not played in so long, i wanted to make it as painless as possible. 5 bogies and four pars later, i shoot a 39. i shot a 47 on the back and ended up with an 86.
  3. nice fish. that water looks like chocolate milk.
  4. same here. i've only flipped with them.
  5. a must bait for fishing florida.
  6. great advice lee. definitely find the hydrilla.
  7. i have used those gambler double trouble hooks. you have to bend the tips inward in order to get them to work correctly. too much work for me to fine tune the hook to get it to swim properly. i stick to gama 5/0 ewg.
  8. i agree. i bought a big boy allstar rod from him a couple of weeks ago. it came sooner than i expected and was in better shape than he described. great to do business with him. thanks glen.
  9. there are fish everywhere. if you put in at the south end, just go around the buoy and start fishing the vegetation.

sorry to hear kevin. all dogs go to heaven. keep your head up my man.
  11. i too recently bought a pack. a guy in my club who is a guide, swears buy them. i caught a couple of fish flipping with them, but no real hogs yet. i like how sturdy they are. the real test will come when i hook up with that 5-8 pounder in the junk.
  12. great jig choice, and at $1.69 at wally world you can't beat them. i would use a paca chunk in okeechoebe craw as my trailer though. that is a deadly combo when you swim it through the pads.
  13. bro that bait looks sick! if you make more, i will buy a couple. if you have any chartuese pumpkin or watermelon red that bait will most definitely look like a baby gator. that could be a very dangerous bait in the everglades. very creative and nice work.
  14. they do, but to get a permit it takes a couple of years. a couple of guys got together to see who could catch the biggest fish is all.
  15. loxahatchee is red hot right now. this past sunday i fished a big fish tourny and an 8 pounder took the loot. my partner and i had 20+ pounds in the first hour of fishing. everyone who fished said they were throwing back 3-5 pounders all morning long.
  16. if the bottom is rocky (it looks like a rock/sand pit) i would drag a big 12 inch worm super slow on the bottom. this will give you an idea of depth and contour.
  17. i have an abu garcia conolon from 1985ish. i bought it a long time ago and it is still one of my favorites. my loomis, carrot stix and my bass pro rods all have great return policies. i just brought back a bass pro crankin stick to bass pro on monday. i snapped it in half trying to bully a fish out of some heavy hydrilla. the guy looked at it and said this model is an 2006. he then gave me a brand new one. bass pro is great for stuff like that.
  18. exactly! my only advice would be to order only from tackle warehouse. the free shipping over 50$ seems to be a justification in my mind. wow--see how the monkey has got me thinking.
  19. went to tomassos today in boca to get a slice of pizza, and mark sosin was straddled up at the counter eating lunch. spoke to him for a little while about local spots that hold snook. nice guy.
  20. If I was a judge and you showed up looking like that, you would be held for contempt of court. The two or three times I've had to go to court, I always made an effort to dress appropriately. The bad thing is you often see a large amount of people who do not care about doing so. How anyone could think it is right to show up to court wearing shorts and flipflops is beyond me. i guess that is the difference between someone like you who has a cartoon moniker and lives in southwest bygod virginia and me who lives in south florida.
  21. if you ever want out of jury duty, just wear shorts and flip flops when you have to serve. i was summoned about 7 years ago and unbeknownst to me, i didn't know you had to wear proper attire. when i checked in, the lady at the counter scolded me and said "sir, you can't wear those clothes in a court house". she then sent me home and said i would be called at a later date.
  22. open water. the night scenes were brutal. and that really happened. disturbing to say the least.
  23. sshhhhhh. i too like the space monkey. it puts a limit in the boat right quick.
