Featured Replies

so just spent $100 dollars on ***.com....as a grad student this is not a healthy habit...lol....just want to hear some humorous or some helpful advice that any of you guys follow to help control the monkey:P

Dude Ive spent way to much on *** but that is a great site.  Its almost impossible to get on there and not spend at least a 100.

Get married and hand your wife all of your credit and debit cards.  It worked real well for me but now my tackle boxes and looking a little low. :-/

how do you stop the bait monkey...

You might as well ask, how do you change the weather?

The bait monkey is the term for an epidemic which rages through the fishing community.  Some have a natural immunity to this condition.

For the rest of us, there is no cure.  The bait monkey must be fed.

Any feeling of satisfaction is temporary at best.

The most you can hope for is to stabilize your condition.  Throw out all those catalogs, and stay off the internet.  At all costs avoid anything that mentions the latest and greatest equipment and lures.

You cannot eliminate it, but you can minimize temptation.

Web site shopping carts are bad enough.  Wish lists compound the "problem".

The bait monkey has fallen.   When I walk into a store and say, "They don't have anything that I don't have".  However, the Lure Making Monkey has really kicked my butt the last year or so.   :D

you don't stop bait monkey.

you make him your friend.  ;D

I go to ebay... doesn't stop the monkey, but you sure get more!  Picked up 10 bags of senkos for 34 dollars, 100 gamakatsu 3/0 hooks for 20 something, and we just got about 200 yum dingers in various colors for 40 dollars.  that's a d**n big savings.

I go to ebay, sort by ending soonest, and start snagging them up!

That is quite a deal there...

sure is!  that's how i take care of the monkey lol.  I got all of my go-to baits, they'll last a long time, and over 60% off buying them in the store.

LOL.  The bait monkey has your number.  The bait monkey is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.

He/she/it doesn't care if you get a bargain or not, the monkey whispers in your ear buy, buy, spend, spend.

100 Gamakatsu 3/0 hooks for twenty something?  A hundred of any type of hook would last me several lifetimes.  At 67, my remaining lifetime is not very long.

kill him and eat him.

Please.

I ate  Monkey Tacos back in the 70's, in Mexico, I wish I had not.

Word to the wise, when you hear that voice in your head say " That might work"...keep walking

There should be a "price" on that Monkey's Head.

We'd all profit in the long run, if we each posted $1000 to RUB OUT that wicked primate >:( ;D

Stop him... why would you wanna do that... hes my friend...I love fishing for lures and trying out new thing... everyone here was recently talking about rage tail baits so i went and baught some and they were awesome!!! Not only that but the monkey got me to go to gander mtn this morning and to my surprise all soft plastics were 20%off. Needless to say we had a blast buying all kinds. Picked up some coffee tubes, some senko's, hula grubs, rage tail shad, rage tail anaconda, rage tail space monkey. Best of all the monkey and my girlfriend are great friends.

exactly!

my only advice would be to order only from tackle warehouse. the free shipping over 50$ seems to be a justification in my mind.

wow--see how the monkey has got me thinking.

The bait monkey whispers to me too..so both of us are doomed..

I have tried to spank him but......  That just made him happy :)

Look at it this way,  you could be wasting precious money on cigarettes, drugs, drinking habit, gambling etc.  At least this is important stuff.  You are not wasting you are investing...........

Sure! Just PayPal that $1000 to snuffthemonkey@gmail.com.

I'll get right on it.
