  1. x2 skitter prop is working when the swimbaits aren't.
  2. space monkey. that bait has put me in the money twice this year. in one tourney i fished a stretch that had already been worked over by 2 boats and i still pulled 12 pounds out that area. the one boat kept looking back after every fish i caught. i love when that happens.
  3. i called him last night, but he hasn't returned my call. he is the service manager at maroone volvo in delray. when i get a hold of him i will ask. he is a great guy. how did you do the other night?
  4. which volvo did you go to? my friend is the service manager at a volvo dealership. i will ask him tonight.
  5. x2-or i will take a big worm with a 5/8 ounce weight and try to "feel" the bottom for anything that those fish are relating to.
  6. lives in the state that has one the hardest hitting conerbacks in college. vontae davis wants to be a miami dolphin--and i want him here to. he had a private workout with the phins, and they were extremely impressed.
  7. or not. the shamwow guy was busted in miami for beating up a prostitute. with his kind of money, why is he picking pigs up off of the streets? just look in the yellow pages and there are thousands of escort services. what a kook that guy is.
  8. not only is this site an amazing place to get great info on fishing techniques, baits and locations but is also the place where people can make snide remarks and idiotic comments about people who actually eat bass. i personally don't give a rats butt if people eat bass, i myself do not. but know this, those same people that are making those weak comments are the same guys who flick their cigarette butts out the window and they themselves are not perfect. so don't sweat their lame comments. eat as much as you like my fellow fisherman. lmfao!
  9. right click on your picture, then hit edit. there should be a thing called stretch/skew. click on that and your picture will be at 100%. just change the size from 100% to 50% and that should do it. i hope that made sense.
  10. no it definitely was not a red rat snake. i'm not sure if it was a water bandit or mocassin.
  11. i have had a matt lure bluegill for about a a year now and have never caught a fish on it until today. i brought it with me today in hopes of hooking up with some of these monster tarpon that are in this lake at my moms condo. i was swimming it by a culvert and WAM. this nice 5 pounder inhaled it. it was the only fish i caught on it, but what a vicious strike. the second pic of the aligator sign has a nice snake at the base of it. check it out.
  12. for sure doug. i am on spring break from 4-3 to 4-14. i want to make it up to the marsh, because it is red hot. let me know when you plan on coming down to lox and when you plan on heading up to the marsh. i am definitely gonna fish lox a couple of times during my break. glades, try to get some time off if you can. now is the time to get 'em.
  13. fished lox yesterday from 4-7:30 and crushed them. caught fish on the flats, and the west canal. tons of beds on the west canal with bucks everywhere. caught about 40 fish in total with 3 nice 4 pounders. lots of 1-2 pounders. doug, glades and anyone else who lives down south, go get 'em.
  14. last one. how do you post more than one photo on a single post?
  15. went to my moms condo this afternoon and tore them up. caught a dozen or so fish over 4 pounds with a 6 pounder being the biggest. i couldn't take pics of a couple of them because it was down pourning. this was my first real outing with my carrot stick. man i love that rod.
  16. Sunrise Blvd. Thank me later. yea but if you go doug, you better pack some heat. that is a sketchy part of town. there is a place in deerfield that sells those little burgers. it is in a train that they turned into a restaurant. it is between hillsboro and sample on powerline road. i call them sliders, because they slide right in and slide right out.
  17. check out the one at bridsallmarine.com-i had one on my flats boat before i upgraded and went with a 24 volt tm. they are a bit pricey, but they work great.
  18. they are dropping water fast out there. the fishing is red hot. holiday has turned on as well. no need to fish the flats, the canals are loaded with fish.
  19. right on sir snook. it was beautiful yesterday. i have a 2 day tourny this weekend at istokpoga and the weather looks hot and sunny----just how i like it. send me some mahi filets.
  20. go to the beach (boca/delray/deerfield) early in the morning. 4 am is a good starting time and fish the troughs. i was at south beach park last night with my kids and there was some bait and i did see a couple of small snook. i like to throw either a small pointer or a hank brown with a small grub as a trailer. if you find the bait, you will find the snook.
  21. mine was a natural progression. in 1969 my father bought our second house and it was on a canal, the c-14 to be exact. every wekend my mom would take me to the bait and tackle shop to buy 2 boxes of night crawlers. i would catch bream, bass, turtles, catfish, you name it, and i caught it. i loved being on that dock alone fishing. as i got older i started becoming more independent and started digging for clams and mussels in the sand along the shoreline. when i was 7 my mom bought me a 4 foot cast net and i started netting wild shiners and shad. this was the moment i knew bass fishing would be a permanent fixture in my life. once i caught those shad and shiner, bass were now soooo easy to catch. around ten i started with artificial baits and my first baitcaster, an ambassador (the small red one). as i grew in years, bass fishing took a back seat to surfing and football, but i never stopped fishing. when i got maried, my 3 goals were to graduate college, buy a house and have children. when i bought my house, my wife and i refinanced for a better interest rate and we pulled some money out to update our house. i also bought a flats boat. once i had the boat, i started tournament fishing and was hooked instantly. i can honestly say that bass fishing has kept me grounded in the sense that i don't sweat the small stuff. whether it is family, work, or financial struggles in life, fishing always brings me back to a much simpler way of living and thinking. i know that may sound weird, but i bet a lot of you guys feel the same way. great topic and great stories--thanks for letting me share mine.
  22. the 3 knots i use are the: palomar uni to uni jig loop each one has its own purpose. if you are using power pro, they have a nice pictured diagram of the palomar and the uni to uni in the brochure. i use the jig loop when fishing giggy heads and baits that do not have a split ring. jig loops do not work with braided line.
