  1. IMO the 2 best on the market are hildebrand and war eagle. the okeechobee special is my go to spinner bait.
  2. forgot----8 pounds 4 ounces
  3. fished the bass busters tourny out of clewiston yesterday and man does the lake look amazing. i fished 2 spots today that i haven't fished in over 4 years because the water has been so low. i only had two bites and caught only one fish. what a beauty she was though earning my partner and i big fish honors. i look for the lake to regain the status of the best lake in the state if the water stays where its at or gets higher. i just pray that the powers that be don't start draining the water out.
  4. i will agree there are too many gated communities and areas that are posted no fishing, but you have to be crafty. i usually ask family and friends if they know anyone who lives in a particular community and i beg, grovel, bribe, do whatever it takes to get on that guest list. once your in, your in. LC let me know when you are settled, and i will take you to lox. the place is red hot right now. 561-i guess i should have said state class peacock bass fishing. catching 3-5 pounders is pretty darn good for down here. if you guys get a little outing together, let me know and i will try to swing it.
  5. big worms. i just fished the holey lands and caught all of my big fish on 12" worms. if you have a depth finder look for changes in depth and you will catch fish. also caught a couple small ones on top with a speed worm. they are moving a lot of water out there, if that is what you find, work the stations and bridges with a giggy head and big worm. hope this helps.
  6. wow there seems to be some boca haters out there. when are you coming down LC? i also graduated from FAU in 1999. i actually live between fau and the hospital. there are numerous places to fish from land. i just fished lake ida last night and caught 10 fish with my biggest 5 going around 12 pounds. loxahatchee is red hot right now and the holey lands has some decent fish. hey (lee)fishindaddy im going to istokpoga next month--when was the last time you were there? to all you boca haters---don't hate because i live 3 miles from the beach and minutes away from world class peacock and bass fishing.
  7. SHAZAAAAAM! that space monkey looks amazing. here in the glades, that is EXACTLY the kind of bait i have been waiting for. can't wait to swim that thing through the pads.
  8. i have been stroking them in a private community that i clean pools at 2 days a week. i caught 2 fish that were easily over 5 pounds with a mess of 2-3 pounders thrown the mix. all this in about 45 minutes. keep raining please.
  9. spot on gar. i love to fish before a storm, during the storm, and after. usually produces bigger fish as well.
  10. dan is there any surf? i have been surfing the obx since the early 80's, and never knew you could catch LM there. i always brought a surf rod and gear, but man if i only knew.
  11. it is either jaws or some other outside reef in hawaii. a lot of my friends are into riding big surf via "tow ins". i love surfing, but a 30+ foot wave punks me out. the wave runner simply backs out as soon as the guy lets go of the rope ; however, the wave runner will ride parallel to the guy on the wave only he is behind the soup instead of in front of it. when the surfer falls or kicks out, the wave runner is there to ****** him up for another wave. these guys are nuts. when they get caught in the soup, they are under the water getting tossed like clothes in a spin cycle for 3-5 minutes. sick. laird hamilton has balls of steel---he does this regularly and is the pioneer of big wave tow ins.
  12. here they are.
  13. fished the park from sun-up to 3. caught around 80 fish. these 2 were the biggest and they were between 5 and 6 pounds. all the others were 2-3 pounds. caught them on everything--spooks, speed worms, frogs, pointer. both big fish came on a flappin shad. bassin-holiday is starting to turn on. i am off until august 11th. lets hook up and catch 'em.
  14. a while back i saw a thread that said beware of fake power pro. does anyone know what it was you had to look for on the box to know if it was the real deal? please help.
  15. i have a white flats boat and i used to use oxy, but then i found soft scrub with bleach. that stuff works great. it removes blood, rust, dirt, everything. i also use a stiff bristled boat brush. give it a shot.
  16. swim a jig trailered with a paca chunk senior.
  17. wow! that was impressive. regardless if they have ever visited this site or not, those guys were more than willing to give a shout out. that speaks volumes about what kind of fellas LBH, 5 bass limit, and glenn are. most pros would never give a shout like that to just any 'ol website. kudos gentleman!
  18. kimbo slice will get waxed by a good ground technician. i still like him though--did you see that other guys ear explode? wow what a puncher slice is. as for that cat faber--he is one bad dude.
  19. try the reaction innovations squeeky dolphin. i have had great success with it, and you can fine tune it to make different sounds and spins of the blade.
  20. i usually cut about a half inch off of the legs to (hopefully) avoid a short strike. i also add a rattle to the inside of the body to give it some extra noise.
  21. bassin is right on the money. the only thing i would suggest is a golden eye maverick. that is one of the best artificial baits i have ever used for snook. another thing you might want to try is a mayan cichlid. some of the biggest snook i have ever caught at the lake worth spillway was on a cichlid. are the snook you are catching light in color or are they dark? good luck and post a pic of your cactch(es).
  22. i fished the alley on friday and caught over 40 fish. the biggest being around 3 pounds. i fished the spring fling on sunday and had 12 pounds. we went all the way down to the trail and caught about 20 fish. with an hour and a half left we decided to try the miami canal, and we caught over 60 fish between the 2 of us. we ended up culling all of our fish, even though we only weighed in 12 pounds. 28 pounds ended up winning with 19 taking second. the water is dropping, so the fishing should only get better. i also fished on monday from land at a lake by my moms condo. i caught 3 fish and all three were solid 4 pounders. i even had a 40-50 pound tarpon roll on a spook that got my heart racing. i stayed in that same area for about 20 minutes and never saw another tarpon all day. hows that baby doin? hope all is well, i hope my report gave you a little juice to get by.
  23. flip pallott rick murphy anywhere down here. those guys truly love the environment and can flat out catch 'em!
