Prop Baits
x2 that is my favorite prop bait. torpedos are also good baits. i have the depps and the lucky craft prop, but i haven't caught enough fish to switch from the skitter. that is a great idea with the coffee stirrer. definitely gonna give it a go.

The National Championship
x2 all the more reason the ncaa should have playoffs. i hope the gators get crushed! why doesn't espn have their own series of games. every university would benefit financially, and then we would have a TRUE national champion.

Invitation to those in Florida
where is the portable shack that i have seen on tv? it has a mini heater, a cooler for your beverages, a portable radio. i have never seen snow,(except for when it snowed here in 1977). i doubt my body could handle that kind of cold.

Fishing vacation...LakeOkeechobee area
if you are willing tp make an hour or so drive south, holiday park is red hot right now and only going to get better. caught well over 100 fish today between 1 and 3 pounds. the bigger fish are there, but they are still on the flats. they continue to dump water at a fast rate, so the fishing will only get better. oh yea, it was 82 degrees and beautiful today.

Stuart Fla, Shore fishing for bass??
you might want to try some spillways for big snook. if they are moving water, there will be snook there. mayan cichlids-great bait. some spillways even allow fishing from the dock. i am sure there is a pecking order, but you can still catch 'em.

A question for police officers:
that explains your "behavior" at the ramp that night. as a teacher for 10 years, if i could do it all over again i would have been a fire fighter. those cats got it made!

Loxahatchee (Lox Rd)
speed worm take your dad to the hillsboro canal. it is the canal that runs parallel to lox road. take powerline road to i believe 6th (it is the light just north of hillsboro blvd) go left (west). 3rd stop sign make a right. once in the water, head east to the golf course and start fishing. speed worms, frogs and senkos all work in here. also throw a rattle trap. there are peacoocks in there as well, but there are also some big bass. it is canal fishing, so fish the docks and all of the bridges. i have caught a bunch of fish there. it is usually where i go when i take my 4 year old with me. hope this helps.

Decent S.Florida Peacock today
Great Fish Bassn Blvd cant complain w/ 4 fish in 45 min imho Interesting opinion Bocabasser, why do you say they are too easy to catch? I would love to get down there and catch them tand, i say they are too east to catch, because they are too easy to catch. 9 times out of 10 if you see one you can catch it. all you have to do is tick it off enough, and it will hit anything. i also don't like how they beat your baits and hand up. and 90% of every peacock i have caught over 3 pounds, it is a MUST that you use pliers or you will be digging hooks out of your hand. don't get me wrong, i will still catch them, but i just don't target them specifically. next time you ar down this way i will take you to a little lake by my sister in laws house, and you will get your fill REAL quick.

Decent S.Florida Peacock today
after a while those fish become boring IMO. they beat the heck out of your baits and they are too easy to catch. not that i won't catch them, but i prefer lm waaaaaay better.

Loxahatchee (Lox Rd)
i fish lox at least once a week. the last sunday of every month there is a big fish tourny for $20 a man. the biggest sticks from down here are usually out there on that day. this sunday a 6 1/2 pounder took all of the loot. next time you go out there glades let me know and i will tell you where there is an amazing rocky ledge that usually holds a decent couple of fish. i got a 4.7 on sunday but it wasn't enough to to do anything. when the water gets a little lower and it is cloudy, that flats light up.

Lake Osborne mini tournament?
sundays tourny is not a club event it is an open. $80 per boat which includes big fish. 50% of the money goes to billy browns family who lost their nephew. if you don't fish it, hook me up with some spots on osbourne. i have fished the airport and those islands in the middle, but thats about all i got. i know a couple of spots down south by the humps you found. give me a call and i will tell you where.

Lake Osborne mini tournament?
bassin thanks for the invite. i had a great time even though the fishing was slow. i caught 3 small fish down south and then headed north when i finally found them. your 3 pounder easily beat my 2 1/2 pounder. kevin is a great guy and we have to do it again. are any of you guys gonna fish that open on the 7th? i know the guy who is running it and 50% of the $ will go to a member of our club who lost his nephew in a tragic car accident. oh yea bassin- the way you handled that sheriff was hilarious. at first i thought you were *ucking nuts! i thought for sure you were gonna get cuffed and jacked up. if you don't fish that open on the 7th, fill me in on some spots up there on osbourne. again thanks, and lets do it again.

Burnout
living in norcal, do you surf fourbizz? whenever i get a little burnt on fishing, i surf as much as possible to re -ignite my stoke for fishing. i know the water is cold up there, but you cats get a boatload of goood surf. and besides if they do stop stocking trout, wouldn't that mean that your trout swimbaits would whack the heck out of them? your stoke will come back bro----it always does.

Writing a novel with a bass fisherman character, need help with plot and character realism
some of the best novels by hiassen (imo) are: Double Whammy, Tourist Season, Flush (i read it every year to my fifth graders) Nature girl. all of his novels are centered around florida and he uses references from buffett songs. he is a great author. i am sure you have noticed that there are a lot of moral police on this site. whatever you do, for the love of god, don't write about killing a bass! lmao. good luck with your contest.

Lake Osborne mini tournament?
as of now i'm in. how do you get to this ramp? what's the skinny are we havin a little tourny w/5 fish or just 1 big'n? i think it would be easier with just 1 fish because of the waiver issue and i sure do not want FWC to shake any of us down. i know i am asking a lot, but would you guys be opposed to going to lake ida? if not no worries.
