  1. couldn't agree more. if this was the NFL they would have been suspended for a minimum of 6 games. roger godell does not play. selig needs to go! there are too many good young players in the minors who are begging for a spot. i don't care how GOOD a player is i.e. clemens, bonds, sosa etc. cheating is cheating and it sends the wrong message to young kids aspiring to become a big-leaguer.
  2. the holylands are located off of US 27 in broward county. i am not sure if you can access the holy lands from the north. it might be on the broward/palm beach county line, i am not sure, but i take I 595 west to US 27 and head north. about 10-15 miles north you will see a HUGE sign that says holylands. you have to make a U-turn if coming from the south. it is on the west side of US 27. i heard they re-did the roads and improved a couple of ramps. i don't know for sure, because i haven't fished that area within the past 6 months. a lot of 4 wheelers and mud lovers go out there because of the vast openness. there is really good fishing there, but it is hit or miss. if FWC is out there, you WILL be stopped and shaken down, so make sure you have everything up to date. the fishing is hit or miss. if it is on, 5 fish will average 20-25 pounds. lots of toads have been pulled from there. also note that vandalism and robbery's have occurred, so be cautious. i fish an area on the east side of US 27 that is off the chart. i can't give up that local, because it is one of the last areas that no-one knows of and it holds MONSTERS! my friends would kill me if they knew i told anyone about "our" hole.
  3. unless you are buying a used outboard motor, the cost of a new one will be quite high. i suggest you buy a trolling motor (preferably a 24 v) with a minimum of 75 #s of thrust. i had a little 10 foot basshunter with a 5 horse, and my minn kota 55 # thrust was much more quiet and it seemed to go just as fast. how big is your lake?
  4. me either. besides i could never use a trailer, because the areas i fish a frog is always HEAVILY vegetated.
  5. right on LBH! it only takes one to start a movement. you obviously inspired them. kudos to you my man.
  6. i have a couple of the johnny morris 85 millions, and i also have a couple of g-loomis rods, allstar rods and a local guy around here makes star rods. i love them all and honestly don't think there is that much difference between them. however, i sure do like the fact that bps will take back any rod with no questions asked. if you want an inexpensive rod from bps try the bps crankin stick. i have 2 a think they are great. last time i saw them they were on sale for i think $40.
  7. i think it is safe to say that hawg caller is dialed in to the big'uns. those fish in your gallery are HUGE! great job.
  8. congrats jason. my wife does ultrasounds. those 4d images are expensive. did your insurance cover it? is this your first child? i'm stoked for you.
  9. this summer holiday park. holiday park.
  10. prefishing i caught one like this at every spot i stopped in the glades. caught everyone on a hollow body frog.
  11. imo they are nothing like the basstrix. i can't seem to get the tail to move as much as i would like. the basstrix can be fished slow and the tail has lots of action. i like the lake fork magic shad as well. the only way i can get the poor boy swim baits to move right is when i use them for snook and tarpon in a steady to heavy cuurent. hope this helps.
  12. nice job warmer. what was your biggest this year? when i get home i will post some of my fish from this year. looks like you got a nice spot on toho. i finished 7th in my club for the year. i fished alone for 7 events because my partner had a lot of health problems. all in all it wasn't a bad year, but like you i am jonesing for next year.
  13. nick satan without a doubt. the guy screwed my dolphins because his wife did not like south florida. karma baby-----it will catch him soon.
  14. how do you guys order those baits, the whole site is in japanese? i gotta get one of those cascabels.
  15. i don't have a tourny, but i have to run it by the wife first. i will let you know tonight.
  16. man i am a die hard dolphin fan and i have had season tickets for 15 years. i have got nothing but respect for the patriots. they are a great team and they are probably the best nfl team EVER (god it hurts to say that). i just hope that we win at least 1 game, and the pats lose 1 game so the '72 phins still would have the best record ever. i doubt the pats will lose. they are going to beat the jets this weekend by at least 40 points and possibly more.
  17. most of the iguanas down here do not "walk" across the water. they swim under the water--and they swim extremely fast and stream like. the ones that run across the water, i call them jesus christ lizards. there are soooo many exotics down here, that it is scary.
  18. on average the tournys down here are between $70 and $80. there are some tournys that are $150 to$250; however, they are usually 2 day events and they are held on main lakes like lake okeechobee.
  19. after shooting a bear, what do you do with it? is it just for a mount? can you eat bear? i personally could never shoot an animal unless 100% of the animal went to use.
  20. then i guess it must be if you say it is.
  21. tokyo i believe they are talking about iguanas. they have became a huge nuisance in south florida. we have curly tails and balisks here as well. those balisks aremean mothers. if you ever catch one, look down their throat and you will see a wide hole. they are carnivorous and eat all of the native lizards here. south florida is truly a jungle. in the glades i have seen pythons up to 12 feet. talk about scaring the bejezuz out of you.
  22. a really good beer buzz! everytime i ocean fish and it is rough, bring on the beer.
  23. that is incredible! gotta love a fish that has an escape plan.
