  1. Vision 110s and 110 Jrs. Often the +1 version.
  2. Yea I saw that as well. I suppose that is another option! That's awesome!
  3. Anyone have a Shimano Curado Medium 6'10" Rod that they use for Jerkbaits? The Shimano Expride would be nice, but I have no business spending that kind of money on a rod. Just looking for "best bang for buck" here. I'm usually a Dobyn's Fury guy, but this rod was highly recommended by the guys over at Tactical Bassin.
  4. Yea. The 704 is just a shorter version of the 734 correct? I think I'd like the extra length
  5. Hey guys, I really need to get myself a jig specific rod. I have all Dobyn's Fury stuff since it is affordable and a good value. I've got a really nice selection of custom jigs I bought from NorthStar a few years back (football, arky head, etc). I never fish them because I always have something else tied on (Texas Rig usually). I'll probably pair it with a Shimano SLX XT 151HG (7:1) reel. Any recommendations on which Dobyn's Fury model? Maybe the 734C?
  6. I'm wondering if my Dobyn's Fury 705CB would be appropriate for jerkbaits such as the Megabass Vision 110 Jr +1 or even just the regular Megabass Vision 110? Paired up with a Shimano SLX XT. Using 10-12lb Big Game mono. Also, would my Dobyn's Fury 733C be appropriate for flukes? Paired up with a Shimano SLX XT. I believe I have 10-12 Big Game mono on this rig as well. I really like the Dobyn's Fury rods since they are affordable and I have a lot of them. Trying to make do with what I have already. I'd love to have a fancy Shimano Expride 6'10" Medium for Jerkbaits, but I don't fish enough to justify that kind of money on a rod. Plus, if I can fish it with something I already have, that's even better. Thanks!
  7. Hmm...I have the 7' MH Dobyn's and I guess I didn't notice that. In terms of swimbaits I would agree - I should have specified smaller swimbaits, flukes, etc.
  8. I just went ahead and ordered the Shimano SLX XT 6.3:1
  9. Hey guys, I'm having a hard time deciding between the 7.2:1 and 6.3:1 Shimano SLX DC reel. It will be paired up on a Dobyn's Fury MH rod for Spinnerbaits/Chatterbaits/Swimbaits (or anything else that would work well on this combo). I am leaning towards the 6.3:1, but I'm wondering if it would be more versatile on the 7.2:1. Thanks for the help.
  10. Well I appreciate the feedback. Not as straight forward as I thought it might be. I guess deep cranking isn’t as cut and dry as some of the other questions I’ve posted. Might just hold off on a deep cranking rod and reel for now. If I do go down that route I guess I’ll take a look at the Abu Garcia Winch or the Daiwa Tatula 200. Maybe look at a Shimano equivalent as well. I’ll do some more research over the coming weeks as well.
  11. Gotcha ?? Any Shimano reels that would have enough power? I know someone said the Shimano SLX XT series wouldn’t cut it
  12. Having a hard time finding the Daiwa Tatula 200 in a 5 ratio reel. Maybe the Abu Garcia Winch would be better. I should also mention I need a left handed reel. Looks like the Tatula 200 does come in 5 ratio (although I can’t find any) but only in right handed...
  13. Yea this was my do it all rod before I started buying more rods. I’m gonna make this my spinnerbait, buzzbait, chatterbait rod for now
  14. Thanks I appreciate the feedback. There are so many options out there it’s a bit overwhelming. Do you have any specific suggestions?
  15. I mean I plan to use 10XDs on the rod so that would be a bit pointless to not have something that will go below 15 feet...I’m open to suggestion I just really don’t know as I have never thrown deep diving cranks like the 10XD. Thanks I will take a look. Good point on the high capacity reel - I will definitely go with a 200.
  16. Oh alright I just automatically assumed you’d want a 5 ratio reel. So your saying a 6 ratio reel would work better? Updated my post to add that question as well
  17. Hey guys, Planning to pick up a Dobyns 806CB for deep crankbaits and need to figure out a good reel for it. Under $200. I really like the Shimano SLX XT reels. What ratio should I be looking for? Any recommendations? Thanks!
  18. Cool I guess I’ll just use it as sort of a backup to my 7’ MH Dobyns.
  19. Hey guys, I've been upgrading my fishing rods and reels over the past few months (really love the Dobyns Fury series). I used to mostly fish rivers from a Pond Prowler, so I was using shorter rods. Now I've got a bass boat and I am fishing lakes, so the longer rods are really nice to have. I've got an older Abu Garcia Vendetta (see below in bold red) - I'm not exactly sure what to do with this rod. Is there something specific this rod would be good for? I sort of replaced this rod and reel with the one below it (Dobyns Fury Medium Heavy). Otherwise I might just sell it. Thanks! Spinning: 7'0" Dobyns Fury Medium Light - Dropshot, Ned Rig 7'0" Dobyns Fury Medium - Wacky Rig, Shakey Heads Casting: Abu Garcia Vendetta 6'9" Medium Heavy, Daiwa AirD 6.3:1 Casting Reel - ? Dobyns Fury 7'0" Medium Heavy - Texas Rig, Jigs, etc Dobyns Fury 7'0" Medium Heavy Crankbait - Shallow Crankbaits, Jerkbaits, Poppers Dobyns Fury 7'3" Mag Heavy - Frogs, Pitchin' and Flippin'
  20. Thanks guys. I guess I’ll look at getting a traditional net for the boat
  21. Thanks guys. Not really looking at different nets - was just hoping someone had experience with one or both of these
  22. Hey guys, I’d like to purchase a net for bass fishing. I mostly fish solo on a 16’ Tracker. Not a huge boat so I really don’t want something that takes up too much room. Since I’m solo it seems like the YakAttack or Frabill Bearclaw nets would be a great choice. Anyone tried both of these?
  23. Thanks - I think I'm going to go with the 705CB and a Shimano SLX XT
