  2. Go ask the guys at Walmart what day the truck delivers the ammo. The Walmart by my house told me a certain time every day. I sat there and watched him roll up with a shopping cart full of ammo. One case of white box 9mm for $20 a box.
  3. I feel sorry for the guys who paid triple for a product that didn't go up .01 in price from the manufacturer.
  4. Here's proof some semblance of normalcy has returned
  5. What cracks me up the most is all the hoarders that but a ton of ammo/products when this first happened thinking they were going to make a killing reselling it and now it looks like they'll be sitting on huge losses. Wait in about 6 months to a year and you wont believe the deals you'll be able to find. When the hoarding first started I was at BPS picking up a few things and a guy bought 4-8lb jugs of powder. I started talking to him about reloading and shooting and he didn't do either!! He just wanted to try to triple his money. I should have got his phone number as I bet he's ticked now.
  6. I watch it religiously. I hate the BS drama that you know they encourage but I watch it for the huge fish.

Another option is to build one yourself. There are a ton of videos and it allows you to have the exact rifle you want. There is minimal gunsmith work required and even then, you can get around that. It's all basic assembly and if you stay with quality parts fitment shouldn't be a problem. As for opinions; take them for what you paid for them, and that includes mine. There is a ton of information out there and websites like AR15.com are full of idiots that don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. However consensus will usually tell you the truth so if you do enough research trends will develop.

You should get a flat top upper. If you want rails on your foreend there is a plethora of options. Most work very well and it comes down to how cool you want to look.
  9. Well, I wouldn't hold my breath as I think there will be more sets in this work out but it's nice to grab a towel and a swig of Gatorade for a few. Hopefully I can find some primers and powder now.
  10. Perhaps that's true and my familiarity with both allows me to recognize the similarities quicker. It's still interesting (to me) having played both at a high level. At least the trivia is fun
  11. Actually, that's not quite correct. American football was started by a Yale rugby player. Many of the names of the positions come from rugby. Half back, full back, center, flanker, etc. And up until very recently had some, and still has one or two, rugby rules. The 10 yards needed on a kick off, a lateral pass being a live ball. "Touchdown" comes from having the touch the ball down in the try zone (end zone). Even a drop kick, which is still legal in the NFL but is a unicorn. So although it's grown wide apart the roots are still there and I don't think a comparison is too far off. Even the Gray Cup trophy, CFL's superbowl started out as a rugy trophy. "This made the trophy donated by His Excellency Earl Grey, the Governor General of Canada, and an award for the amateur rugby football championship of Canada."
  12. Thanks RW, that was one of the first articles I read when I joined. Unfortunately it has not worked for me. Today for example the first thing I did was walk up and down a bank about 100 yards each way casting a Senko. Water was very clear and I tried not to spook fish. I used a Green Pumpkin Senko with no weight on 8lb clear mono and a spinning outfit. I tried to fish it in accordance to that article and did not have any luck. The bank doesn't have any visible cover but I see a crap load of small (<10") bass.
  13. I'm not trying to be an attention ***** but I had to vent. This is getting ridiculous. Since I've joined this site I have fished nearly every day (from the bank) with only one small fish, my daughter caught one, and maybe 4-5 bites total. Sure, I understand everyone gets skunked and I don't expect to yank them out every day but how about one or two decent fish once in a while? Plus, on top of it I've lost about a dozen jigs. (good knots, just snagged) Sorry, I just needed to vent as this crap is taking the wind out of my sails.

Unfortunately FA AK's have risen quite a bit and last time i checked (within the last year) they could be had from $5K-$8K depending on condition, model, etc. MP5's were about $10-$12. Like most "collectibles" the prices fluctuate significantly but with the recent issues their prices are rising faster than a teenage boy at a swimsuit contest.

    It's legal, just expensive

Where can you get a full auto for the price of an AR-15??
  17. US NAVY? They sponsored me for 10 years and all I got was scars and great memories. The thought of being a professional fisherman seems so far out there but I do like the idea. 1) Ranger Boats. 2) Bass Pro Shops. There's a clause in my contract that allows me to drive a Ranger. I'm that good, I can demand those clauses. 3) Ford/Earth Roamer. Who's Earth Roamer? I would pull my bass boat and live out of this thing 4) Shimano - Not because I'm a big Shimano fan but I know they have DEEP pockets. 5) McDonalds - (See Shimano)
  18. I enjoy it and DVR it most of the time. There are some incredible fish there. The hand-lining the shark in Fiji was impressive. BTW, I've been to Kiev, beautiful city.
  19. Do you still want me to check on that map at Wal Mart or did you get one of the others?

Dumb question but is there any issue with a swim jig bouncing off the bottom? I'm bank fishing and want to try a swim jig but it gets shallow quite a bit.
  21. I have a BPS Carbonlite M casting rod 7' and was fishing today with a T rig and a 1/4oz weight. A fish grabbed the bait and I set the hook and WHAM the tip broke off about 4-5" from the end. Just a clean snap. It looked like someone cut it with scissors. Anyway, I took it back to BPS and they actually let me exchange it for a 7' MH rod, which I think will be more versatile for jig and t-rig fishing. Everything breaks, I was just a little surprised it broke for something as innnocuous as a hook set, only being less than a month old.
  22. Is there any way you can show us more pics and give us more details about your canoe? That seems like a real nice set up.
  23. I'm sure it's possible I am trying to fish it too fast. Maybe I need to let it sit in place much longer than I currently am. I'm currently fishing it like a very slow jig or T rig retrieve.
  24. I have been fishing a lot with the C rig with no luck. Unfortunately I am fishing from the bank with a lot of mud/grass and I've only felt one or two bites (although I could have had many more) but I'm starting to think the C rig from shore is not a good idea as I can't seem to get the bait off the bottom and hence the bait just drags and never gets "up" to get the fish's attention.
