Hello, and question.
I will add to what my buddy, Senko77, said. For the reel, I would go with a reel that has a gear ratio of 5.2:1 That means, that for every turn of the handle on the reel, the spool will make 5 rotations, taking up that amount of line. I like this, cause it causes the angler to slow down the presentation, with, this time of year, is better, I feel. It also has a little more winching power, so, you are able to get a more solid hookset, and are able to horse the fish away from any cover that might lay on the bottom. As for the T-rig question, the T-rig is just a weight that is slid up the line, and then, the line is attatched to the hook, with the soft plastic. There is no swivel involved, although, you can add a bead for added noise. Also, I feel that the actual act of rigging a soft plastic so that it is weedless, using a hook, can be called Texas-rigging the soft plastic. Hope that this helps, and welcome to the forums! ;D

tiki-stik question
I have also, as I stated in another post, pegged a bullet weight about 4-6" ahead of the Senko, and fished it this way. The bullet weight kicks up a lot of silt on the bottom, and the Senko falls in line behind it, which makes it seem that it's the lure that is causing all the commotion. It's a great way to fish a Senko, and it's something that a lot of anglers have never used, nor even thought of. ;D

Weedless Tube Advice Needed
Um, not exactly. You can, but you will sure enough have the tube slipping off, because most of the football headed jigs have the "bait keeper" system on the neck of the hook. Unless you cut those off, or add the cement, then, you will have problems. The jigheads that are meant to be used with tubes have the lead molded into a longer, more slim shape. That way, you won't have the tube sliding around. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=20806&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=10&hvarSubCode=6&hvarTarget=browse Those are the heads that I am referring to.

Weedless Tube Advice Needed
Actually, no, it doesn't. you have to learn to make the slit no bigger than 1 cm. It does not take much to make the lead part of the head go through. That is, if you are actually using the jigheads that are meant to be used with tubes. Adding the cement to the slit that you make will make it just as strong as it was before the slit was made. ;D

Weedless Tube Advice Needed
Again, I will say, cut a small slit in the head of the tube. Insert the hook end first, thread the head of the jig inside the tube, so that the weed-guard is on the outside, and the head is just inside. You may want to add a little lure glue to the head, so that the lure does not foul when fishing it. This is the best way I have found to fish a tube with the weedless jighead.

Weedless Tube Advice Needed
What I normally do is to cut a small slit in the top of the tube, and slide the hook through, and insert the head inside. Then, position the guards to make it weedless. If this is not an option, why not try it on a small T-rig? Just peg the sinker to the top of the tube, and it will have the same effect.

Whats up?
Yes. It's just something that I am sure that all anglers go through. I am going through one of those little slumps right now. I can't seem to get a decent fish. I have only caught like 2 fish in the last two weeks, and both of those were dinks. So, don't worry, just focus, and they will start going your way again. ;D If not, I know of where you can get some good quantities of C-4 relatively cheap! ;D ;D

Clay Dyer
Wow, that is totally cool that you spoke with Clay. Just using his tongue, to tie that knot?? Wow! I have troubles tying the things with my hands! I still have that letter waiting to be sent to him. I hope that he gets it, and I hope that he is able to read it. Clay, if you read this, you are truly an inspiration to us all!

tiki-stik question
The Senko type baits are notorious and famous, at the same time, for their slow fall. That is one characteristic that makes them so deadly on bass. Perhaps you were fishing them too fast, and not allowing them to sink long enough. If you are fishing lily pads, and they are fairly open, why not try to use a C-rig. If they are floating that well, it would be well worth the try. If the pads aren't that open, then, try a weedless jighead.

starting out
Preston, first, do not take offense to the things that I am going to say in this post. I am not totally sure that you will read it, but if you do, take the things that I say, and use them. First off, use correct grammar. A sponsor, as FlyRod pointed out, will not consider a person that can not correctly use the English language. Although I was able to understand your post above, a sponsor will take one look at it, and will not say a word. Maybe that is why I am the first person that is posting information to you, but there were 126-127 views?? Once you begin to use proper grammar, look outside the box for sponsors. Try to make friends. Do not come out with the attitude that you are going to get the big sponsors, such as Zoom, Strike King, etc. Start in your hometown, and look for small sponsorships that are willing to pitch in $10 dollars to a tournament entrance fee, etc. Lastly, do not ask what a sponsor can do for you. It is paramount that you extend a friendly, respective, and business-minded appearance and mind-set to them, and let them know what you can do and will do for them. Hope that this helps, and I hope to see you post in reply to this message.

Re: Content and Mechanics
Actually, I have no complaints about what you just said. I feel the same way, but I figure that most of the people on here are old enough to know how use semi-coherent English. If they do not do it, that is their thing. As for me, I try to make sure that the words that I put down in print are as understandable as when I speak. After taking a few classes, in college, that required public speaking as part of the curriculum, I feel that I am quite able to speak to a crowd. Maybe, just maybe, a few of the folks that post on here will understand and take into consideration the things that you have said and pointed out, and they will take it to heart, but will not be offended by it. Thank you, kindly, sir.

First post here..resume?
I have been wanting to get one. Did not know if it was worth it or not, but, now that someone has gave great reviews about it, I will probably end up getting one.

Solar powered charger?
Welcome! Nope, I have never used one, but if it really works, and works really well, that would be something that would be worth investing into. Again, welcome to the forums!

what Kind of bass ?
Yeah, I believe that we thought that the fish that was being caught, that resembled largemouths was the spotted bass. ;D

what Kind of bass ?
What part of Mexico are you located in? I had friends that came from Guadeloupe. I believe that's how Miguel spelled the name of the village. It wasn't very big, was very poor, etc.

what Kind of bass ?
Secretaria de Pesca. Muy bueno, senor! Do you get to fish El Salto?

First post here..resume?
Fishforfree, while I agree that Randy Howell does not need a resume, I would tend to think that the reason that he is on the pro-staff for you is because his name is well known. Of course, for the rest of the pro-staff, that might not be said. I also agree that finding out if a potential sponsor wants a resume. However, I consider it a better move to have one.

what Kind of bass ?
I do not believe everything that is on the web. As I have stated, I believe Raul and I believe BASSMASTER. Also, I would be more compelled if they had mentioned anything about William F. Childers.

Clay Dyer
Everything that Clay does is incredible. He has a TON of determination.

what Kind of bass ?
Well, I believe BASSMASTER and I believe Raul. I also believe the research the Mr. Childers did, and I believe that it is a largemouth/smallmouth combo. As I stated, from the picture, where does the spotted bass show?? It has the head of a smallmouth and the body of a largemouth. Of course, that could be just the sampe from that one picture, and there may be variations of the patterns that are found. I still believe that it is a largemouth and smallmouth mix, and until there is scientific research to prove differenlty, that will be my belief.

check this out!
If they are fishing Lake Guntersville, I do believe that they have found the SMALLEST bass ever to be caught from there! Not worth it! That's for sure!

what Kind of bass ?

Never heard of it. I like the idea of the lure, except for the hook placement. ;D They might work, though.

Where, where, where?
I would love to find some 70* water! I know where I would be fishing all the time! If the canal isn't very deep, I would try to fish a crankbait around the edges. Quick way to cover water, and to find some active fish. I would also give a suspending jerkbait a try. I am starting to sing the praises of these lures, since I started using them. ;D
