How Bad Did I Screw Up My Reel?
I was attempting to clean and lube my reel, apparently I do not know how to take apart my reel properly. I got it all back together ( uncleaned and not lubricated ) except one piece. This is a Abu Garcia ProMax 2. The silver bar right above my spool ( I think its called the cam screw? ) had a spring on it which I can not get back on to save my life ( at least not with it being the proper way ) I didn't even know this piece had a spring as I've never seen it. So how bad if at all will this affect my reel? P.s: I now know that bar/cam screw should only be taken off to access the magnetic break area. Any tips on fixing it would be awesome. Thanks

Would I Be Better Off??
Thanks for all the answers so far, I'm fairly new to the game of strictly bass fishin... use to just toss out and take whatever bit pretty much... from what I've gathered from this is either a) my reel should be able to cast lighter lures if I'd clean and lube them properly... just get a med/lt spinning set up.. lol either way as I said thanks for the info so far.

Would I Be Better Off??
Yeah, the big question I really have is if I do it which set up to get rid of... the pro max 7:1.1 on a berkly lightning medium rod or my revo sx 6:1.1 on my varitas MH 7' rod.... one set up cost about 260 $ the other about 110 $.... seems like an obvious choice money wise... or doni mix it up keep my varitas and the pro max.ect.... at a cross roads here lol

Would I Be Better Off??
I have 2 baitcaster reels and rods.... I have a garcia pro max and a garcia revo sx... the problem I have is I have nothing for light weight things such as rooster tails.. weightless senkos ect... would I be better off keeping both baitcasters or giving up the pro max for a light possibly ultra light spinning reel and rod? Or keep what I have and save up for a good decent spinner set? Thanks for the input.

Water Color?
How do you determine what color the water is of where fishing, greenis an obvious color or more so to me than anything else, bust most all waters when looking from shore have a blue or dark look to them. Just wondering if there is a specfic way to tell exact cor of the waters your fishing. Thanks.

My 2 New Ladys. ( Don't Be To Harsh On My Choice )
Nice, yeah uses my cousins pro max andnloved it so got one and the reco sx can only be even better.. going fishin in a few hours so I'll have a report and pics hopefully of some catches! Lake heartwell is awesome.. stay away from the the spots people tell you to go though.. sure you might catch a fish or 2... but nothinf like finding your own special area tucked away that no one else fishes.

I Live off 81 south right now, if you never had luck on heartwell its cause you went to the wrong fishin holes.I stay away from the popular areas.... you are guaranteed to catch at least 3 bass every time ya go... sometimes ya catch a lunker other times 1.5-3.5 lbs is all your getting that day. On a side note you have a relative named Brandon Scroggs by any chance?

My 2 New Ladys. ( Don't Be To Harsh On My Choice )
Thanks ataris, they may not be what most people woulda got or top of the line stuff.. but especially the revo sx on that veritas, just feels like it was crafted just for my hands.. perfect to me... the max pro on a berkely lightening rod don't feel so bad either it feels pretty durn good too!

My 2 New Ladys. ( Don't Be To Harsh On My Choice )
Hahaha I'd likento try out the diawa zillion, a nice shimano... I want to try all the top brands.... and will eventually... gotta try em to know what your really like the best so for now... best I've used is my cousins pro max... but I gotts feeling that will change tomorrow when I use my revo sx. I hope anyways. Other wise ill be trading it for another reel at the 159.99 range. Edit: we are soon to gwt a bass pro shop in greenville which is near me or maybe its a cabelas... right now all we have are academys, dicks and gradys. So I can't wait for that!
