  1. Does anyome know the bearing sizes for these reels lpoking to replace them all but need the bearing sizes before I can order. Thanks for any help you can provide!
  2. Oh and, Welcome to Bass Resource, youllblove it here people ar e friendly and informative on any subject when it comes to fishin, Good Luck 'N' Keep Them Lines Tight! !!!
  3. I have a gen 3 Revo SX currently sitting on a H20 Ethos MH 7' rod and love the set up, I also like it on my Berkley Lightning 6'6" M rod, love the Berkley Lightning rod so much got 2 more M and another MH for my 2 new reels quantum code and my lews tournament speed spool.
  4. For a casting rod yhe H20 express ethos rods from academy can not be beat at 59.99+tax they could easily double the price of those rods and they would be worth it still, also love my Berkley Lightning rods at 39.99+tax tbey are fantastic to me, Depending on the ratio your looking for the Quantum Code 7.0:1 is nice set up with a flipon switch on it for 89.99+tax reg price on sale for 79.99$ right now at academy or a lews tournament series with a 6.4:1 ratio is super nice it is a bit over 100$ (149.99) I'm sure you could find em new on ebay or amazon cheaper though. Good luck in your choices, let us kmow what ya end up with! Edit: Also what a few have said, You can't go wrong with a Pfluger president spinning reel. Great all around hands down foe the price range they are in.
  5. I agree, is this going to be specifically for crank baits only? If so it's your money, but for a rod your just going to use for one type of lure not sure I'd spend that kind of dough on one rod. If you insist on spending that much though, I don't think you could go wrong with a loomis, or maybe ask Mike @ Delaware Valley Tackle ( site sponsor ) what he could do in making you a custom crank bait rod.
  6. I like using the Eugene Bend Knot and it works good with mon, fluro and braid ( also you can tell its tiednproperly by the pop it makes when you tighten it. Also another really good knot is the Improved Reverse Clinch Knot is nice and just like the regular Clinch or Improved Clinch its pretty much fail proof also ( (As with any kmot tie them all properly and you'll be fine.) Good Luck & Keep Them Lines Tight !
  7. X2, They can hydro dip anything these days or even airbrush it without messing with performance at all. Good luck fellah.
  8. 1) The Quantum Code a 7.0:1 on a Berkley Lightning 7' MH rod. 2) The Lews Tournament Speed Spool 6.4:1 on a Berkley Lightning 6'6" M rod. I Had bought a Berkley M for my Pro Max and I just love these rods for some reason, not sure you can beat them for the 40 $ price tag on them in retail stores ( sure you could get em cheaper online ). Gonna get DVT to make me a couple of custom rods though. (IF anyone has an personal experience with DVT custom rods please give me feed back here or in personal message )
  9. Lol, I take it you think made a good choice capt'n Bob?
  10. It may have been discussed before but times change and so do opinions after a while on various gear, with that said... I recently bought a Lew's® Tournament SS TS1-H baitcaster over the MG series I was considering. So what's your opinion on em based on use personal preference ect? P.S: Been wanting to try a lews amd My price rang was 150 + tax., also I didn't need another 7:1.1 which is why i got the 6:4.1 model.
  11. That confuses me a bit the tournament mg is whatt I'm buying... unless you meant the tournament pro... in which case i just don't have the funds for right now, however if I like this lews... I will eventwbually own every one of them... if possible lol
  12. I am planning on grabbing a lews tournament mg speed spool 6.4:1 ratio... I currently have a h20 ethosH rod but debating on changing that to a MH or I have a Berkley lightning rod M rod I can toss it on and put my garcia pro max on the H ethos or a MH ethos rod. The pro max is a 7:1.1 ratio and tips or suggestions? Thanks.
  13. To be a little more specific .. the spool tension washer, spool tension collar and the spool tension cusion is what seems off. Lol I've had that happen before but in this case I was extra careful it was a wife open area and no place for anything to secretly roll and get lost in.. so it woulda been on the floor for sure.
  14. I've got the schematics, but something just seems off like there's still a part missing... I have hardwood floors in my kitchen where I was and I've found no other parts though. . I wonder if its possible they didn't add something when they put it together at the factory.
  15. Yes schematics, well this has me baffled.
  16. I was taking apart the reel and going to clean it and my 2 yr old grabbed the mat I had my parts sitting on...the main problem I am having is with the spool tension knob area... when he pulled it off a small bearing and washer is what I found on the floor I have the parts list and diagram thing but its not really helping... I think I need a step by step guide of some sort or something but can't seem to find anything. Thanks for any help you can tell me or direct me to.
  17. I've always fished from shore woth the exception of a handfil of times I've been on a friends boat. I been thinking of getting something almost anything that floats for a fairly cheap price even if it means only being able to tie off to a tree and float out and about. Just thought I'd ask... seems most bass anglers pull up close to banks anyways... so I'm not sure and don't have the cash or means for a good boat. Thanks and cheers.
  18. So I have 59 $ on an academy gift card and need a spinning set up, I was lookin for a light set up 4-8lb test range and I see this quantum optix.. fairly cheap price 30 $ which leaves me enough to grab some line for it and maybe a couple of other things.. not sure... I just wanted some advice on what people though eother about the optix or give me possible other options... not wanting to spend more than the 59$ and that includes shipping... maybe I'd pay the shippin for something highly recoomended by a good bit of people... thanks... also I should I go mono or fluro on this type of set up... thinking mono. Thanks and cheers.
  19. Anyone ever used or currently use a Quantum Code? If so what do you think of the reel? I got one yesterday on an impulse buy because it was on sale and fairly cheap.. seemed to have about the se specs as the quantum smoke with the exception of weight code is like 9oz and smoke being 6oz. Thanks for any input. Cheers.
  20. So I finally got my pro max back together... cleaned and lubed it up. Yayyy... anyways... so I'm going fishin tomorrow and wanted to test it so I tied on a 1/4 ounce shakey head rig and slapped a worm on it.... now I can't see and it was set pretty tighta0 avoid any backlash since I can't see.. so I casted and counted my reels in till my worm was danglin about 8-10 inches from the tip.. I reeled 30 full turns. The pro max supposivly reels in 31 inches per turn... so 31×30=930 inches.. 930÷12= 77.5 feet.. 77.5ft = 25.8 yards ( I think ) So is 77.5 ft or 25.8 yards a decent distanct for 1/4 of an oz + worm? Given the circumstances anyways, ill probably loosen up the spool tension and maybe even let of the breaks some tomorrow though. Just not sure if this is a good distance after cleaning and lubing. On the bright side regardless tossing light or normal with no real ump behind it like I did for the above measurement, no backlash not even close to it and the only thing my thumb did was hit the release button. So I like that
  21. No, not 100% correct but close. I got it back togethet correctly except that spring due to it popping out and not seeing or knowing where it came from or how to put it back. I am considering calling DVT to let them fix it but debating on if its worth it considering it is a pro max and costs 60$.. is it worth sending in for their repair/ipgrade is the question and can anyone speak from peesonal experience?
  22. So I could try putting it back on the side where the break aystem is since that's where it goes anyways?
  23. It's far from being that messed up I would hope considering its just 1 little spring, I tested it after seemed to worl but something still felt off about it.
  24. R Roger that Deak. I love seeing all these posts, everytime a new one pops up I check my stuff to see if I have any, so I can try em out. So far all I have are the few Berkeley that have been said except my 3" craw isn't plum.
