  1. Hey everyone I need some help...The title basically explains it but Should i go smaller with everything in ponds or keep it the same as i would the lake? Also how big of a Jig and WHAT KIND OF JIG AND TRAILERS would you throw in a 1-2 acre pond with muddy water I am new to jig fishing and am trying to find the best size and style to learn on
  2. If anyone has any suggestions on a good scent spray for largemouth (brand, smell itself, etc.) please let me know. Thank You
  3. Weightless Senko Wacky/T-rig, its my "need to catch one" bait. I like Black/Blue Flk for 1-2 ft of clarity, any dark color Senko really. Just remember fish it slow and like a T rig worm. Wait for it to fall all the way as its a very slow bait weightless
  4. Whats up NewGuy I too live in east TN and my home lake is Fort Loudon but i have fished Douglas and i have also taken 3 trips to Guntersville. I threw Rat-L-Traps along weeds. I also had luck with a Green Pumpkin 6" senko weightless (Only tried one other color though). And of course prob my favorite thing we did was throw big top-water frogs in the lily pads and shallows. I must say watching a 5 pound bass explode on those frogs on that beautiful lake was what got me into bass fishing in the first place! Have fun, stay safe, and tight lines!
  5. Hello everyone, here in east TN its raining like no other and when its all over in a few days i plan to fish my pond from morning thru early night, the pond levels out water very well so the water will be back to normal if not a few extra inches, it will be a very light muddy color water temps will prob stay in high 50s to low 60s. i was just seeing if anyone knows any good tricks for fishing a post flood? THANK YOU
  6. Weightless 5" Senko in watermelon/blk flake or green pumpkin or black Texas/Wacky rigged, cast out let it sink pull up SLOW let sink again and it takes a long time to sink so this is definatly a SLOW SLOW SLOW bait and you have to keep telling yourself that, watch the slack line on top of the water for ticks or movement (when this occurs) put the rod down reel up the slack and set the hook firmly. You are relying on the fall of this bait. I love senko fishing it is what got me into bass fishing and i know you can pull those 2 or 3 lbers out when that senko twirls down in front of there nose, No bass can seem to resist it! Tight lines buddy and remember SLOW! Id go with wax worms for the bream and who cares about the carp;)
  7. Ive been doing real good with dark jigs and chunk trailers I like black and blue for my lake and pond of muddy water and i go small and slow and fish it like texas rig worm
  8. Ive been doing real good with dark jigs and chunk trailers I like black and blue for my lake and pond of muddy water and i go small and slow and fish it like texas rig worm
  9. Hello i am new to jigs and need a little help! i fish 1/8 to 1/4 size jigs (no rattles) with small zoom chunk trailers as I have a spinning reel and medium power fast action rod. My questions are: -How do i even retrieve these? they are not "swim jigs" i know this. Just a plain ole' Jig,Some are called "bitsy bugs" and "arky head" i think?. -How slow should i fish these jigs? -Do i simply flick my wrist ever so slightly to move this bait or do i shake my arm around eratically like a loon? -I know they are better on baitcast but I am just using spin rod and reel... -Just any other tips you have for these smaller type jigs would really help! THANK YOU EVERYONE!
  10. Maybe a Senko weightless T-rigged or weedless wacky rigged or a Rat-L-Trap on the edge of the grass.
  11. How big of spinner bait? i have a 7' medium action fast tip rod and a pfluger 6.2:1 spin reel

  16. Hello everyone it is spring here in east tennessee and temps are staying in 60 to 75 range depending on rain. I was wandering when everyone on the forums likes to begin throwing top water? Also, what are your favorite lures for top water? Thanks for your advice!

  19. Bill Dance, dosnt matter where i just want to see him fall in the water.
  20. Awesome! thank you everyone!
  21. I like 4" to 8" on any soft plastic i throw in my small pond I move up more as water clarity gets worse
  22. Not much on cranks either... Cant go wrong with jig, Any Watermelon or greenish color senko. I like the senko weightless and wacky rigged with size 1 hook, although T-rig would probably save you more worms. I like a lizard too for its versatility in the retrieve. Junebug 8" Magnum Lizard by Zoom(my personal favorite) this lizard works great weightless too.
  23. Hello BR members please help me out So for my 21 birthday a few days ago my dad gave me all of his old bass fishing lures and soft plastic baits(plus a new st criox rod!) He said he wasnt sure if the plastics spoiled or if they just go bad in general. These plastics are not dryed out and have been properly sealed and kept in SP 1001 Insert folding cases (made by Soft Pak USA i think?) in a closet for 5-10 YEARS. Most are Zoom products. So if anyone knows if these soft plastics somehow spoil or just dont work anymore for whatever reason please let me know so i dont waste my time when i actually get to go fish! THANKS EVERYONE
