  1. I have a rod that has a couple inserts that fell out. Would it be easier to get the insert or whole guide replaced? Also can someone recommend where to get a full set of guides and possibly someone who will replace them for me? I like to DIY but when it comes to my fishing rods I like someone that knows what theyre doin ya know baha Thanks for the information!
  2. i dont hate spinning setups, i just got accustomed to BC and have done well on them was just curious if it would be worth the investment seeing how I have alot of BC combos (imo cus i only have 6) lol
  3. they may jus be out kinda deep depending on the size of pond it can sometimes be a little hard to find them im sure youve tried or thought about it already but cranks work good to find a school or group suspending some dont like finesse style fishing but weightless worms and wacky sticks are great when the bites just arent coming like normal also what time of day have you been going out? shaded areas are great cast into and swim it out into lighted areas and depending how far out the grass goes the edge line of that grass could be killer
  4. Man this has become quite the debate! I like all the response some great info in all of this
  5. you can find curados for cheaper on ebay even, honestly Id say look at lew's tourney pro reel, ive got one on my duckett white ice and its awesome and you can get em new on ebay for like 150
  6. Well just ordered some hand tied punchin rigs, lead weighted, 3 3/4oz and 3 1oz, ready to do some punchin!
  7. Remember there will always be some fish somewhere in the shallows, dont be afraid to fish only feet in front of where youre standing, I caught my PB (only 4lbs) but still my PB haha simply dropping a tube craw down a ledge only 3 feet in front of me where I had just seen the bass surface! Also using a carolina rig or just a heavy texas rig to drag the bottom is good to find structure like depth changes grasses or other types of cover. Ive had alot of luck around depth changes
  8. well thatd be why i said "technically" meaning I can make it happen but it may not be "practical" for true weightless technique
  9. thanks for that cus i had no idea
  10. Technically if you have a long enough leader with an inline sinker youre plastic can still be weightless and fall with the action as the sinker would sink fast and the plastic, being actually weightless would fall much slower
  11. its possible but you are right i think they are just cheap begginner stuff man lol i feel the same about those as you do about spinning, im never going back lol
  12. how long of a leader do you use after the "Inline sinker"
  13. I havent used a spinning setup since a began bass fishing a few years ago, I have a St Coix 7'1 MF LTB casting that I use for lighter weight baits works great. I went out today and messed around with my only spinning setup ive ever had, just a cheap 6'6 Abu Card w/ Pflueger Trion. Made me kind of want to get a more "high end" setup for ultra finesse, everything weightless basically. My question is how many of you regularly use/ have these on your boat or in your bank fishing arsenal even? I love my casting setups for sure but Im thinking maybe for weightless trick and ribbon tail weightless small grub type baits a spinning combo would be a good investment lol Just weighing my pros and cons here ya know dont want to get it and realize I still use my casting way more haha So lets talk!
  14. Just bought a couple bags of methiolate and red bug!
  15. Okay so its not a PIG but its a 100% keeper 2lbs The place I fish has been mowed in the last few weeks and all the cut grass had formed a nice mat on one wind blown corner. So I broke out my Duckett White Ice Byron Velvick 7'1 H/XF rod and went to punchin it with my 3/4 blue gill jig It was probably only the 2nd or 3rd punch when I hooked up! I just watched the flippin/pitchin jig video that BR posted to its facebook and was using that technique of flip settle pop pop and also some rise and fall action, it was the rise and fall that triggered it! BOOM! I knew I was hooked! I can def see why punchin is so addictive and affective!
  16. Okay this is up for discussion! Is tungsten truely worth the extra price? Cant i punch the same with lead? I understand smaller profile maybe easier punchin but if someone doesnt have that money to spend doesnt lead do the same job?
  17. Im not a fan of reaction baits haha ill use em but i dont catch enough to enjoy the fishing experience like im talkin if i stick strictly to reactions then its maybe 1 maybe 2 fish outah 3 whole fishing trips haha its jus not my bag man i mainly fish soft plastics worms craws and stuff like that
  18. Well I brought my 3 rods with me so ill be able to cover any situation ive got my dobyns 734c, duckett white ice Heavy/XF, and my 7'1 MF St Croix LTB. So anything from top to bottom and light to heavy!
