I actually have taken it apart once or twice to see what was makin the noise and to oil it some since it was used. One thing i do notice is the knobs, when you free spin them with your finger or something real fast they make an awful screeching noise, how would i take the knobs off?

Yeah i've thought about this especially since i only paid 89 bucks shipped for the smoke reel, ive fished it and it works great jus the noise shouldnt be there IMO with something that just came out not TOO long ago

This is a great things in car companies ya know like ford and lincoln and chevy gmc My question is, I have a quantum smoke and a quantum te hpt100. The smoke is a little noisy 100% functional jus a little buzzy while reeling the line in and im thinkin maybe a gear swap could be a possible fix. They are both 100 models but the TEHPT is a 7:1 and the Smoke is 6.3:1 ratio, would i be able to simply swap the gears out in these 2 reels to see if that fixes the issue or not? Also do you think the handles could be swapped out?

I just got 2 new reels in the mail, and I've seen guys post about super tuning them like soaking some bearings in acetone and upgrading to better bearings and handles and what not. Right now im looking to just do that basic basics which i believe is to soak the manufacturer bearing in some acetone? Is this correct? Also is there anything else I can do to "tune" it up just with the stock parts like degreasing some parts or adding grease to others? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I love fishing from the bank its great, Ive been seriously thinking of getting a kayak though just to mix it up Ill probably never own a bass boat or anything like that doubt even if id have a jon boat but a nice kayak wouldnt hurt!

if you wanna keep the floro someone suggested to me that they had some el cheapo reels they kept around for the soul purpose of spooling line off of another good reel to keep it on the el cheapo for leader or whatever else they needed to take line off for and wanted to keep it around

I'm wanting to understand more about different geography under and around the bodies of water that i fish. Now I know that some structure or geography can only be seen through sonar type tech, but I would like to have a basic understanding of the following; what is considered a flat? a point? channel? and other geography that I may not know about. Pictures, videos and articles would be greatly appreciated. I'm at the point where I dont want to just throw a lure and hope I catch something ya know. I'd like to understand a little better, how, why, and what I'm really doing to catch the fish. Hope that makes sense!

Bank fishing in florida you can actually get into pretty thick stuff! My setups are 7'3 MH Duckett Ghost Dobyns 734c Champ 7'3 MF *** Black and whenever i breakdown to ship it in for warranty replacement, Im probably goin to switch the *** for my St. Croix LTB 7'MF Teaser rod Reels would be Pinnacle optimus xihs I have 2 of these with braid and then a plueger patriarch, the new one, which will most likely also have braid or will get some 12lb invisx on it

well the place i fish has sloping shoreline so i can actually be 3-4 above water lever so it actually is possible for me to flip and pitch there lol ill try that for sure, backlashes on the fc and mono havent been fun for me i am able to pul alot of them out but those ones i have to cut get real annoying

i actually flip and pitch alot from the place i fish my biggest fish was caught pitchin into a small ledge/crack in the underwater bank only 4 feet from me, there are also underwater piping and fallen trees in the places i bank fish, lots of opportunity to flip and pitch into that kinda stuff and i still dont understand why people say it "does' backlash worse, when i compare the fact ive never had to cut out a backlash with braid, but i certainly have with mono and floro, i think its just luck of the draw here lol IMO

I have used 30lb and 50lb braid I like both really but I just bought some 40 to see how it handles as well! I hate birdnests in mono/floro they, IMO, are nightmares! ive had to cut them out at times and almost end my fishing day, but braid has always been decent for me

ive never had a birdnest in braid that i couldnt get out haha i know alot of people say its a nightmare but i run it on 2 of my reels anf they get main fishin time

Ive got 2 pinnacle optimus xihs reels i bought one from a member in here and liked it so much i bought another new one, im guessing the primmus nay be there to replace the optimus? Or does anyone know if its just another addition to the line up?

Braid with a leader is used to get the strength of the braid but the "invisibility" of the floro leader, fishing stained water though its not needed. Ive fished areas with visibility down 7ft pretty clear in my opinion and have caught nice fish on straight braid, yes having the leader may get you a few more fish but in the end its personal preference and as far as using braid as backing im not sure, but you can use mono as backing to help fill up the spool so has to not have to use so much expensive baid or florocarcbon line

any advice on leader length? ive heard some say no more than like a foot or maybe two, then ive seen where you should have like 5 ft for a carolina rig lol

I just got a new Pinnacle XiHS in the mail and I wil be pairing it with my new Dobyns 734c when it comes in the mail! It will be really my go too all purpose combo, ive heard you can do all kinds of techniques with it so thats what i want to try! Ill be using it for jigs, worm, and wacky unweighted senkos, some T-Rigged worms and shakey head worm/creature baits. Depending on where Im fishing maybe even some spinnerbaits on this. I may also be flippin pitchin into some cover. Is there a line thats good for all of this? Im thinking braid with and without a leader depending on technique! Suggestions of brand, type, and test rating woud be gladly accepted, as well as any advice! I do have other combos but as I am a bank fisherman and maybe a small kayak if I get one soon, I dont wanna be luggin them all around ya know! Thanks for the help!
