  2. First bass was about 2 years ago, just fishing my bro n laws pond. I knew there were bass in there from a flood that ran a creek into his pond, when it dried up a bit there were bass stuck in it, I was throwing a small yellow spinnerbait with a crawdad trailer. Swimming it back to me I felt it get hit like nothing before, as I reeled it in I realized I had finallly caught one of the bass in the pond! Just a small 1lber, if that. Ever since then Ive been hooked it was an awesome feeling.
  3. I wish it was that way where I lived lol that is a hard size to find unless you just order off a website i was hopin to have one for fishing this weekend lol
  4. well I went to both after work they were within 2 blocks of each other and gander had more but not a single one of them had the rod type im looking for lol 7'2 7'3 MF or MHXF, why is 7'2 7'3 such a hard size to find in stores? lol anyone got a rod like this for like 100? lol
  5. well if i had more local shops or they had more rods in their selection id probably go that route but they dont hah
  6. Who normally has the better in-store casting rod selection DSGs or GMnt?
  7. Looking for something that will be good for lightweight worm/plastics, kind of all around rod to use with just about anything? both are in the 70 dollars range and have good reviews which one would be best?
  8. wholesale.outdoors. com? Basically they have a rod for a decent price but there are no good reviews and im just wondering if anyone out there has used it or heard of it?
  9. well ive got the floro still so i can give it another try lol and just for the record minutes after i tied the leader i went out and practiced and it didnt catch on the guide but what caused the whole aggravation was that as soon as i went out to actually fish it backlashed twice cus it got caught. Now you cant tell me that wouldnt frustrate you when youve been counting the hours to get off work just to go fish a new spot a local tipped you off too and the first two casts cause you to backlash? lol no offense taken though lol everything is a learning process
  10. yeah man i actually like throwing smaller baits what i was using the other day was probably just a 3"
  11. yeah man i can see that for sure, all mine came from lettin the bait twitch and move around on the bed itself and they hit it pretty hard ill def try that though!
  12. how much line should be between the bait and the drop shot weight?
  13. thanks for the input and the tip maybe it wasnt but it looked just like the pics ive seen of example and demos of it so ill just stick to braid for now
  14. sweet another OP member i just fished an orange park lake today and caught 4 bass! welcome to the party
  15. lol i didnt expect this to have such a response i used floro as a leader today and its just not for me 2 casts and 2 backlashes cus the knot stuck on the guides, i used and albright, i tied it correct and yes i clipped the tag ends down to the knot and it still got stuck on the guides first two casts so its not for me lol
  16. Today was a great day for me! Right off the bat I saw the bass were bedding down and I remembered some tip videos I watched of just shaking a creature bait in the bed and vwahhlah! Brought in 4 bass today first two was a 2lb and close if not a 3lb third one was a lil thing about 12oz maybe and the fourth one was a 1.5lb! My success was due to usin a soft plastic that looks just like a z hog or kvd rodent but was a local brand called BItters in baby bass sparkle! Rigged on a 1/8oz shakey head! Id cast past the bed reel/jerk it in and let it hit bottom then just shake and twitch it! It was an awesome day!
  17. hmm didnt see it in the inbox lol
  18. hah yeah man and im over on the orange park area so green cove spings could be fished as well if i knew some spots to fish lol or i could,do westside near normandy blvd and all that ifnyoure familiar

  21. 7' M CCI Think Red See Blue Rod (cheapo) Shimano Caenan w/ Power Pro Braid, Fished a Chart Tail Yum Dinger, it couldnt resist the dinger!
  22. okay so i bought some sunline super floro im gonna use it as a leader, can any instruct the best way to tie it on? best knot? should that knot be able to reel through my guides or should it be that long?
  23. Ive never tried it so therefore im not sure if i "dont like it" that was the whole point of posting this simply to get some pros and cons? what is some good floro to use for leader then?
  24. Im thinking about getting some flouro line and im not sold 100% 1) It seems really stiff 2) Ive heard that it bird nests easyily or is hard to recover from a birdnest with it Im not sure whichc reel I want to put it on but my setups are 7' M St Croix LTB Pflueger Summit Baitcast I use this for Soft Plastics Some frogging and kind of all around 7'3 MH Duckett Ghost with a Shimano Caenan Baitcast, this is for jigging and hard platic action lures cranks swims spinners etc. and heavy frogging. So if I should get flouro what should I get and why?
