  1. ive got a johnny morris and the tournament mg i actually just sold the mg cus i just could not dial it in for finesse fishing so im using that money to invest in a different reel, once i got the JM reel tuned in man that thing casts like nobodies business lol also check out the pflueger summit a little hard to find but in the range i have one on my St Croix LTB and its an awesome setup!
  2. yeah the bass in my area love the color and the bait lol i actualyl just caught another one out of a retention pond by my local post office! haha its a tiny pond but has spawning bass in it
  3. Had a good day on the "lake" today, just a man made lake around where i work. Has tons of hydrilla, I was swimming a baby brush hog into the large gaps in the vegetation. I would let it sink and hop/ swim it back up and the bass were lovin it today! Baby brush hog in bull frog color. One 3lber and the other two were probably 2lbers.
  4. So my plan is for this saturday to go out and buy a sevylor fish hunter, a seller has one with 2 oars trolling mount foot and electric pump and custom floor boards. Anyone ever use these or have any tips on fishing from/using these?
  5. I purchased some 3/0 VMC Heavy Duty Swimbait hooks with twist lock springs and 1/8 oz weight and some 4/0 swim max swimbait hooks no weight just the twist lock spring, none of the swimbaits i have are very large i figured 3 and 4/0 would be fine
  6. thanks man i appreciate it!
  7. Can anyone give me pointers on fishing soft swimbaits like flukes fluke jr cafeine shads from KVD style baits? Weighted, not weighted, weighted with a specific style weight? Any info will be great
  8. well i thought it might be the hook but i got 6 fish on the same exact hook a few weeks ago. Im thinking that it might have been the soft plastic i was using, a baby brush hog it may not have compressed enough to give good hook exposure to get a good set. It being the same hook as a few weeks before and too lose that many on it was what made it worse lol
  9. yeah I feel ya, I dont know what was happening with my hook sets or hooks in general but I lost those 5 fish the exact same way they were right at shore I was about to pull em up and boom they were just gone lol
  10. Man I haven't had any luck lately, I bird nest so bad I had to cut my line out in the first 10 minutes, not even casting. Crank got hung and i didnt realize i hadnt locked the spool by reeling. Jerked to rip the crank out and the spool just free spun... Lost a crank in a tree... Rippin a lipless through some shallow grass, it got hung then, it flew out and stuck me in the knee.. Lost 5 fish off the hook right at the shore... back to back Days like these make me not want to fish. Anyone else have days like these? lol

yeah ive got a powell diesel glass i was usin MMF and it seemed a lil weak for rippin lipless and even it was getting stuck in the algae part it was thick lol i like this pond for finesse fishing or slow rollin a spinner bait over the weeds that arent covered with algae lol all my fish have been caught on plastic worms or craw type baits lightly weighted

Man that lake i went to yesterday is horrible for crankin too much algae it was EVERYWHERE i even tried ripppin lipless it just didnt work lol
  13. I plan on going crankin today after work, the water is clear with green, visibility is down to about 5-6 ft in some areas algae/grass alllllll in it. It has pockets of no grass which i know can hold bass as well. I plan on throwing shallow to mid square bills and maybe a lipless or two Any tips or tricks yall can share to help a beginner in crankin?
  14. to be honest I love my duckett ghost rod I have the 7'3 MHF, its great, i can cast for miles on this rod and it had alot of backbone
  15. sweet thanks so i atleast have good size braid and floro so i have a few options it seems at hand without having to purchase new line if i dont wish to do so lol anyone use the sunline reactionFC the blue/purple tinted stuff thats fairly new
  16. How do you like the super slick? ive been wanting to try it but does it really perform better than the reg. power pro braid?
  17. Thanks for all the info guys, I just went ahead and spooled it with the floro. I have been wanting to try floro for a while and the sunline super should be better than the red label lol if i wind up not liking it ill probably go with the power pro.
  18. Im not very familiar with reel sizes? where can i find info on the sizes of the reel/spool and what it can handle? thanks!
  19. I have a 7'3 MF *** with a Lews TourneyMG, It was spooled with red lable floro and the casting and backlashing was horrible. I took all of it off and now Im wondering out of the lines that I have which would be best for weighted to lightweighted soft plastics worms grubs craws wacky rigs and such Ive got some 30lb PP braid, 20lb and 15lb Senshi Mono and some 12lb Sunline Super Floro. So what would be best? a combo of braid and leader or just straight mono/floro? Also are there any line conditioning tips/tricks that some of you know about? Of course thers line conditioner but homemade type stuff like ive heard of soaking certain lines in warm to hot water?
  20. squarebills is actually what i bought this for too shallow to mid diving i cant wait to get out and fish it
