yeah man its a nice reel, i have only fished it once in a small pond but did catch a bass. i did notice its great for the flippin and pitchin gets goin quick so its a little more accurate!

when you say re spool do you mean get rid of all that line and put new stuff or would you just add some more, cus thats brand new line on there that i just spooled up not too long ago, i guess i could just unspool add more backing then re spool with that line lol

I always fish from the bank but lately I have been really wanting to be on the water. I dont own a truck, i drive a lincoln mkz and it doesnt have a hitch haha Id like some advice on whether or not a yak would be a good investment or if i should try and get some sort of inflatable fishing craft? Anything advice wold help

Now I understand what it is and how you compare it with different diameter lines. Mono/Floro vs Braid capacity and all that. What I would like to discuss is what is considered, in your opinion, over spooling vs under spooling. Ive heard some say over spooling causes problems and under spooling you cant cast quite as far, or spooling to capacity increasing castability? Id like to know also should I have spooled more line onto my optimus xihs? I mean it casts fine but what it if casts better just by adding a few more yards of line on there ya know? Or is that a "myth"? These are the things that I have been thinking about as of lately haha

I usually take 295 to 95 and get off on the state rd 207 exit to state highway 312 im on 95 the longest tho

this is basiclally my setup but i also put my soft plastics in there too which is the BULK weight lol i have alot of them in a h2o express mag worm binder haha it holds aloT!

I the small boxes i use are the small 35-3600s all of it fits great in my backpack but the backpack is gettin heavy lol so i really know that i need to scale down on my softplastic selections lol

Thanks for the help! Im realizing it is a mental thing to overcome that urge of, ive gotta have all options! I dont have any deep divin cranks so thats one less thing i have to worry about lol alot of the reason ive been carrying everything lately is ive been tryin to test new ponds that i find and have never been too so now i just gotta figure what works and plan a day or two in advanced what im gonna need for the place im going

Im a shore fisherman and my pack is gettin a little heavy my main weight comes from soft plastics binder i have a tendency to take most of my stuff haha any other shore fisherman got an all around general list of what they would carry? I just think i need ro lighten it a bit lol break it down to the essentials ya know lol right now i have a small box of terminal a small box of cranks and then a small one for spinners jigs n frogs then my soft plastics binder all in one bag lol

yeah ive def got a rod that can handle it im either throwing it on my *** black MF or my st croix LTB MF if i was to possibly go get a spinning setup what would be choice for someone that mostly uses casters and would only use it every so often lol

Im wanting to get a reel that would be great for weightless to light weight soft plastics. I know I could go out and drop 300 on one but I dont fish THAT much to really want that lol Can anyone recommend something that is good with finesse that I can find around the $150 range?

i didnt deep clean the gears but i deep cleaned everything else, should i try degreasing it theres some goopy red grease on the gears or is it supposed to be that way?

yeah i mentioned that it was used in this post as well lol who knows man its all good tho its jus a reel eventually all things will wear out or need some sort of tuning up, i got it for a decent price so putting a lil more to tune it up wont be that bad

I just got a quantum smoke in the mail, used during one tournament season. It functions 100% but is not as quiet as my other reels. It makes a bzzzzing sound when i reel it in, and almost feels like i can feel the gears rolling together through the handle. There are no crazy clicks or vibrations, its just noisey lol Is this normal or do I need to go have it checked out profesionally?

My new smoke came in today! It is used, the seller said for one tournament season. It casts great and reels smooth, but it seems a little noisier than my other reels. It almost seems like i can hear/feel, the gears turning especially when im reeling in, kind of sounds like "bzzzzzzzz" Is this normal? It may just be a noisier reel cus other than that its completely functional.

Yeah ill probably use it for finesse but i got the 100 so it may be a little easier

I scored a Quantum Smoke 100 for 89 bucks on ebay! I cant wait til it gets here, I believe im going to pair it with my 7'3 MF *** Black and use it as a finesse style setup. Cant beat 89 bucks for a reel like that!

my experience is opposite of some peoples, iv never had a bad enough backlash in braid to pic or cut it out, but ive had several with mono and floro, the lowest i would go for braid is 30lb test braid, i use that for jus about all applications on my do-all St Croix LTB rod and Pflueger Summit reel

I pond fish plastics all day long its fun, frustrating at times, but fun lol is there any kind of vegetation growing in it? and color of water would be a good start too for helping out with plastics

Nice man i didnt have luck but then again i was tryin to fish it around mid day which to me seems they are less active or too deep for my liking haha
