  1. I fish 3/8 oz swimjig with either a 5" curly tail or a 5" paddle tail. I use Greenpumpkin a lot. MH rod selection is fine. I generally use braid as I love fishing these through pads. The 7.1 will keep the bait higher easier. However a 6.4 also has its place.
  2. For the waters I fish Bluegill, Perch, Gizzard Shad, and Chartreuse Black Back.
  3. Just buy whatever I'd on sale between 20-65#.
  4. I got the button up Guide Series shirts. I like button up over pull over. Vented across the back and a front pocket vent. Not as nice as the Columbia but the Columbia is almost 3x the price.
  5. X2 A close second would be spinnerbaits
  6. I will throw a swimjig any time. Especially in clearer water. They do work great running through vegetation or bouncing off of stuff. Basically you can run a swimjig anytime you would a spinnerbait, squarebill, or bladed jig. I like the Berkley Grass Pig or Kalin's 5" grub. Generally run 3/8 oz. When they nip at it stop reeling. When they hammer it lean into them and reel faster.
  7. 15 or 20# should be fine. Lighter cover go 15.
  8. I believe it is .8 fish per hour or less then 1 fish an hour.
  9. Havoc Grass Pig or Kalispell 5" grub.
  10. I have used them as a jig trailer before with success. I didn't like the price for durability.
  11. Big sale in Fort Wayne as well. 600 yds of Suffix 832 for $ 32.
  12. I just started using squarebills this year. I throw them on a 6'6" MF Diawa Exceler with 12# mono and a Lews 6.4. The Exceler tip is slower than most "fast" actions. At this point I only have KVD 1.5s. In NE Indiana we don't have the Shad population that other states have so my primary colors are Perch or Gill. What conditions would everyone use a Neon Bluegill or a Sexy Sunfish color over the standard Bluegill or Perch?
  13. X2 For Seaguar red label. I use it in 15# for jig and T-rig applications.
  14. Yeah, what Kevin said
  15. Awesome job! The best is yet to come.
  16. Either a Palomare or a Canoe Man Loop
  17. I will drag more then hop. I think horizontal movement is very important. If I am fishing a swimjig then I will swim it.
  18. Canoe Man Loop is what I use
  19. I have a buddy that riggs his confidence baits. Super glues his paddle tail plastics too his swimjigs.
  20. Lews Tournament Pro 7.1 on a 7'1" MH *** Black with 40# PowerPro. Fish bottom jigs, swimjigs, chatterbaits, frogs, buzz baits.
  21. You can get a Lews Tournament Pro for 150 if you look
  22. Sunny = white and chartreuse Overcast= purple and silver or black and silver. Either run on the tops of weeds or along the deep side of a weed bed.
  23. I share the same sentiment as others. Cannot beat Netbait for quality and price. Good luck to all in the future.
