  1. I really enjoy fishing small creeks. Very relaxing. Although I have never had results that good! What where they hitting on?
  2. I agree with the 6.5 M power. 1/4 to 3/8 oz chartreuse and white spinnerbaits. I like the KVD 1.5
  3. I like 50# braid on my jig rod. Also, doubles as a frog rod.
  4. I like black and blue in low light conditions regardless of water clarity. I think the bass can see it better.
  5. How would opinions change if this was a river\creek application?
  6. X2 For open water I throw them on a M Moderate Fast (squarebill rod) and close quarters I like a MH Fast.
  7. I am in the same boat\kayak as you. From what I have been told\read use a lot of similar presentations. Specifically spinnerbaits, tubes, wacky, swimjigs, paddle tail or grubs on a jig head. Depending on line weight you use for lakes you might want to up size on the river in a kayak lots of variables.
  8. I have liked the owner beast hooks
  9. I like 1\4 to 3\8 on a M to MH rod. I fish them anytime I want to catch fish in or around cover and grass. Also good in streams and rivers.
  10. Maybe add black. Or try the torpedo.
  11. I think another aspect is the environment. For example in boat on a lake I would have a tendency to use lighter line then in a kayak on a river. For soft plastics I like a braid in the 10-30# range depending on spinning or casting. For crankbaits I like an 8-10# copolymer.
  12. I get my spinnerbaits from G&G Bait Company. I have gotten 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2. My favorite is 1/4 but I am generally picking apart cover and keeping the bait up in the water column. I am more accurate with the 1/4 and like the fact that I can let it flutter a little before reeling it in.
  13. For example a *** *** 6'7" M with a fast tip is rated for 1/4 to 5/8 and 10-17# line. I could successfully fish 75% of my LM or SM baits with this rod.
  14. Great looking colors.
  15. For fluorocarbon or mono do you spray the line on the spool, reel or run the line through a rag sprayed with conditioner while spooling.
  16. Living in Indiana I reach for bluegill, Perch, sexy shad in that order
  17. I use the Paca Chunk a lot. Good swimming action and on the fall.
  18. Bluegill/Perch, something Shad, and Chartreuse Black Back. With Bluegill/Perch getting most of the work.
  19. I always use a trailer of some sort
  20. Anyone have experience with the Flatside 54SR?
  21. is 1/4 oz the standard size for SM?
  22. I fish a 1/4 oz spinnerbait a lot and I use a 6'6" M Daiwa Excelar (previous model) with 10-12# mono on a 6.3 reel 1/4-3/8 oz swim jig is thrown on a 7'1" MH *** with 40# braid on a 7.1 reel. Reason is because I will fish a swim jig through similar places that I would throw a frog.
