  1. Ok. I guess that I'm going with the micro guides.
  2. I'm looking to get another rod. I want to use it for an all around rod, but mainly for Texas rigs, and some carolina rigging maybe. I was planning on getting either a 7' or a 7'3 medium heavy veritas. Would y'all recommend the micro or regular guides.
  3. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Outdoor-Products-Vortex-Backpack/19487035 This thing has plenty of room. Three pockets, one large main pocket good for boxes. One mid-sized pocket good for soft plastics. And one small pack that's good for packs of hooks, pliers, phone, scissors, etc. Actually pretty good quality, I've had one for 3 years now and just got a new one because it got nasty. Cheap also.
  4. From what I can tell, it's the vengeance with out the pretty graphics and it also has a different reel seat.
  5. Only reason I tried braid in the first part. In really muddy water I use straight braid. I like the ability to feel the fish breathe on the lure before he takes it. I only use braid on spinning reels. Mainly because I'm afraid of flooding $15 bucks on a bad backlash, but the no memory helps to.
  6. I probably won't be using that any time soon. I'm on a fairly tight budget of how ever much a 13 year old can get. Thanks for the advice though. Ok. I remember reading an article that said height can make it hard to use a rod longer than 7'. I guess this explains why you see all these guys using 11' rods when they surf fish.
  7. I bet you could tear them up on inline spinners. I'd use some 6 pound fluoro. I'm just guessing that they're skiddish.
  8. Think, if they're that good frozen they have to be that much fresh.
  9. I heard bad things about c21, but you know I guess it's just opinions. I use to hate my voltage but after some one in my bass club let me use a shot of their line butter it's my new favorite. In my opinion it handles like fluorocarbon, except you don't have to worry about the line heating up at the knot.
  10. Check this out http://m.myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/profiles/fish/freshwater/nonnatives/blue-tilapia/
  11. It looks like a sunfish so I bet it fought really hard if any thing like a bluegill. That thing is huge. Are you able to keep them?
  12. I love this line. I've been using it about a month now. Really good line. What do y'all think about it? Pros:Great knot strength, Castabilty, Really strong strength to diameter, Super abrasion resistant, Really hard to see in water Cons:Really thick, Quite a bit of memory but not enough to make it hard for any one but beginners
  13. I remember a video I saw with Boyd duckett explaining this. He said that he would use a 1/4 ounce bullet weight and no bead because you don't need it. He explained that you would do this when the larger weights would scare the fish. He also said that this would also be good when every one else is fishing the heavy 1/2-3/4 Carolina rigs to just change it up.
  14. I don't know but it looks like it would be fun on an ultralight.
  15. Ok I guess it's more about just what you feel comfortable with. I may go with a 7 or 7'3 because I do fish from the banks quite a bit. I don't fish carolina rigs as much as my texas rigs so I would like to keep it in a medium heavy and not a heavy. From what I've used I just don't like heavy action rods that much. I'm also not really fishing really heavy cover or fishing mats.
  16. I've never used one longer than 7 foot. I'm 5'9 and still growing so do you think I could?
  17. I'm looking to get my second baitcast set up. I know that I'll be doing a lot of flipping and pitching as well as carolina rigs. Here's the problem, I can only afford one set up. I'm looking at a 7 foot medium heavy rod right now. Would this work or should I get some thing else?
  18. I haven't had a problem with deformed baits. Super Flukes are awful about it, but never something like a stickbait.
  19. I'll see if academy has any next time I'm there
  20. So are they on clearance boss?
  21. What happened to the bio bait. A guy in my fishing club gave some to me, but I can't even find it in stores.
  22. I won't get the squirrel tail. It's the same price as the trick worm, but the trick worm comes in a 20 pack.
  23. Yeah I love the trick stick and especially the YoMamma.
